First time at this restaurant, I heard great things, thought we would try it. Well our bill was $90. 4 burgers totally not what i expected, i thought it would be a nice size burger but no a McDonald's cheese burger was twice the size , 1 fries ( abt 10 fries for 4 people )and 1 onion rings ( about 6 for 4 people) the waiter, very nice kind young man said the fries and onion rings said they are massive and would for sure feed 4 people. Us ladies had a drink my friend had 2 beers and I had 1 drink. Im not sure how this bill was $90 but in my opinion, this meal was not worth that kind of money. Sorry for the bad review read more

So I wander into Talley's Log Cabin on a Sunday night--little bar, little pub, you figure, "Hey, this'll be nice. Cozy. Local charm." Yeah, no. I order a couple burgers--food shows up, it's fine. Not great, not terrible. Just... fine. Then I look at the menu and realize I'm paying steakhouse prices for "eh." And then--this is where they got me--they want five bucks for a little sad basket of fries. Five dollars! For potatoes! Like they had to fly 'em in first class from Idaho. And the best part? They tack on an extra fee for using a credit card. Nothing says "welcome to our small town" like charging you for the privilege of giving them your money. I hate that. What year is this? 1953? You know how many times I've had to dig around for cash in the last decade? Zero! It's 2025--take the card, shut up, and be happy you're still in business. So yeah, food was okay, but between the overpriced fries and the "oh, by the way" credit card tax, I felt like I got nickel-and-dimed out of my Sunday. Last I checked this was a bar that served bar food. Hamburgers for 5 people with fries and a beer was over $100! Charged for every little extra on the burgers. On top of that they charged a whopping 4% to use a credit or debit card. Then we are expected to tip 20%. It's like feeding a 6th person. I understand that the cost of things have gone up but for restaurants to not absorb any of the cost is forcing the public to quit eating out or stop tipping. Something has to give. The vibes were good, the service was good, and the burger was good, the bun was not good. Talley's fit everything great about an up north bar, with good music and lots of warm conversation. The service was attentive and quick. The fries were very good, top tier crispiness and flavor. Even the burger tasted good. The meat was juicy and had great flavor. However, the sad bun that the burger came with did not hold up to the massive weight of the meat and veggies. It became instantantly wet and made the burger un-putdown-able. My delicious burger instantly became a time race to finish the burger before it crumbled in my hands. Stress and panic set in quickly. The chili was chili. I also tried a bite of the chicken sandwich and it was pretty solid. I would probably pivot to that next time. The bun worked as intended there. read more

In town for the snow drift 2022 and you got to stop at Tally's. They have a great burger, voted the best burger in the north. Yes this little Burger is juicy perfection, came out perfectly cooked, very juicy with some great fresh tomato and lettuce w cheese and a sesame seed bun, you add your own condiments. It really is a perfect little Burger at $6.85 on the menu and worth every bite. This place doesn't miss a beat, it was packed with a lot of people from the snow drift but they handled it no problem. Service was excellent, the place was packed, great crowd, no problem getting your drinks and the food all came out fast looking good and correct as ordered. Tally's has got this down. If you're in Lewiston don't miss it, it's a great log cabin bar, and check out that burger to see if you think it's the best in the North. read more

Classic Michigan up north dive bar. Beers are served in cans and if you ask what's on special the response you'll receive is "whatever your having is special"! I was in Lewiston for a long weekend and ended up going to Talleys twice. Their menu is very small and they are known for their burgers, so of course I got the burger. I wouldn't say it was amazing but it wasn't terrible. People go to Talleys for the atmosphere and cheap drinks. It's a fun time and worth the stop if your in the area. read more

You couldn't get more no-thrills than Talley's Log Cabin. Everything is served on little styrofoam plates. The menu only has a few things. Burgers, chicken sandwiches and some fried apps. The onion rings really aren't very good, and the fried mushrooms taste like all of the fried mushrooms I've ever tasted which basically means they taste like nothing. Hot little spheres of exploding mushroom juice. Service is friendly and attentive, and they have a huge outdoor patio if you're not interested in elbowing up at the bar inside. What everyone comes for, beyond the alcohol and comradery is the burgers. As i've driven there on my visits, I haven't had much to drink but I can only imagine living in town and getting wasted at the bar. Those burgers would be the PERFECT ending to a night of drinking at Talley's. You are provided all of the condiments in squeeze bottles and you better hurry up and get those toppings added before the burger melts into itself! It's served PIPING HOT right off the griddle, and the patty is huge and juicy. Only a few bites in and it becomes a hot mess. So so good. read more

Pros: Good bar burgers. Friendly staff. Lotto/keno kiosk inside. Outside patio. People watching (locals) for daysssss. Cons: Pepsi products (blech!). Men's bathroom. Chicken nuggets are pretty gross. I've been coming here for my entire life. My family has a cabin on East Twin Lake and we have been heading into town for a "Talley Burger" religiously. Their burgers are amazing! They were featured in a an article as a "best Burger in Michigan" awhile back and I gotta agree. I travel for business and I eat at some of the best places throughout Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio and this place is one of my favs. Besides obviously trying their Burger (or two) you HAVE to compliment it with the potato wedges. I'll never forget the first time I saw the kitchen either. It's more like a closet! Lol. There's just a dude in there grilling up burgers after burgers. During a busy weekend he even took the time to chat with us and tell us the story about his "record breaking Burger night" (July 4th weekend I think?) Love this place. Go here. read more
