In town for the weekend to ice fish on a local lake. Cod dinner, burgers and patty melt were fantastic. Be back tomorrow night !

Small menu but they stick to what they do good. Never had a bad meal. They have daily specials most days. Good food for a good price.

From the moment I walked in, I…read morewas greeted with friendly service and a cozy, vintage atmosphere that feels welcoming to both locals and tourists. I grabbed some delicious snacks to keep me going and had the chance to try a few local beers. Each sip was a delightful taste of the area! The decor is charming and adds to the nostalgic vibe, making it the perfect spot to relax and soak in the memories shared by those who frequent it. What did I have? - Widowmaker, Black IPA 5% ABV Keweenaw Brewing Company - Horny Monk, Belgian Style Ale 6.9% ABV Petoskey Brewing - Fried Mushrooms - Fried Cheese Curds - Coconut Shrimp

Curds were enough for a table of four. Overall taste of the food, however, is average. Despite being a good looking B&B Burger, the bacon was burnt and the burger itself didn't have much seasoning. I expected to bite in tasting a medley of flavors, but each bite was just okay. Maybe if I had a yeasty beverage or two before eating, it might help raise my opinion? TABLE SERVICE: Waitresses were prompt and helpful. BARTENDERS: Remember those honey badger YouTube videos (narrated by Randall) from 2011/12? That's what I think of when I read Yelper reviews from Brittany H. and Jay V. [in the voice of Randall]: *Mitchell Street bartenders don't care; they do what they want!* For example, when the popular 80s song, Your Love by the Outfield, came on, the 'tender on duty decided to turn it up to 11...and left it there for half the song. Locals seemed unfazed, but visitors got to the point they asked the waitress if they could turn it down. I'm guessing he didn't much care for the feedback, because he then played the song twice more. *If you're up for a rowdy atmosphere with an array of local beverages + solid bar food, I encourage you to step into this windowless venue! If you're looking for a nice, sit down meal and great tasting main dishes (OR you're allergic to peanuts)...best walk to Tap 30 next door.

As we entered the restaurant you could see their commercial grade smoker going with inviting aroma's of smoked meats wafting through the air creating both a nice visual and a mouth watering invitation to enter the restaurant. I get a kick out of these these bad boy smokers as too often they are hidden behind the restaurant. Relative to our meal, we got the Cod Fish and chips and the full rack of baby backed smoked ribs. Both entree's were well made and very tasty, especially the ribs, where the the portion size were so large we could easily have split both of these meals into two which is something I would suggest if you are coming here and usually eat a small to moderate portion size. For drinks we got their Old Fashioned which was well made and quite tasty in its own right but a tad small volume wise in my opinion. I normally expect 2 full oz's of Bourbon in my drink and not sure this drink hit that mark. Just a minor gripe here and did not detract from my meal by any means as evidenced by the 5 stars. Relative to staff and facility, the staff was super friendly with great follow up where the facility I would describe as clean, a bit rustic (in a good way) and most importantly a comfy environment to enjoy your meal in. Also, as it was a Friday nite and a band started playing later in the evening that just added another layer of goodness about this business and overall dining experience. Overall, I am a big fan as this business as hits on all cylinders when it comes to a nice dining experience and one not to be missed if you are in the area. As a cautionary note, they get real busy right around 5 pm on a Friday with a waiting list that moves fairly quickly. I am assuming the same thing probably happens on Saturday. if you want to get seated immediately on those evenings you should probably arrive a tad bit in front of 5pm to avoid the wait.

Everything on the menu is great! All of the smoked meats are excellent! The beer is cold and the…read morestaff is friendly!

It's generally crowded at the dinner hour but that does not diminish the prompt, friendly service. The food has an excellent home cooked taste. I've had the perch dinner and their broasted chicken dinners; both tasty and filling. My wife also loves the broasted chicken. I had a house salad dressed with their house made vinaigrette that is equally delicious. It's a great place for us to connect with great Friends over great food. I highly recommend Paul's Pub!

If you are searching for a restaurant that serves great food, reasonable prices in a warm atmosphere, this is a great selection! For years, I was unable to find a restaurant that served a chicken dinner. Not sandwiches or something disguised in a sauce, but broasted chicken dinner with sides. Well, this is the spot! Four pieces, cooked at ordering, tasty, moist and met my expectations. The menu has variety and other menu meals at adjacent tables appeared to be equally tempting. Our server was extremely friendly and was able to provide insights into the 50 plus year history of the pub, but also coming events at the pub and area all the while making sure our meal was pleasant. This was our first visit, but this is now on our short list! We recommend Paul's for an enjoyable meal.
