Timothy's is right on the square.

Order the Cod. It is homemade with homemade tartar sauce and coleslaw. French fries were great too. Owners are not "Timothy" but they greeted us like family.

    Cod Dinner*

Timothy's in Gaylord has the feel of a local establishment, one that has been there for a long time. It has an Up North vibe, dark with wood beams. There's an area set up for a band at the front of the building, but we were there on Thursday night and it was quiet. There are pool tables which were also not in use and a large bar in the rear of the building. The food was typical; burgers, fried fish etc. although old, the place was spotless, including the bathrooms. I ordered a two piece cod dinner with fries and Cole slaw. The fish servings were huge and perfectly fried- a mild crunch with tender fish inside. The tartar sauce and Cole slaw were delicious and full of flavor. The fries were seasoned well and not exceptional but hot, as they should be. My husband had a shrimp basket with a side salad. The shrimp were size 10-13? And huge. There were six of them! Homemade batter was the same as the cod and very good. The side salad was well made with tomato, onion, lettuce and cucumber. Very reasonably priced and very well done.

Side entrance and a very tight parking lot

After dinner night cap, with friends. Historic old bar. Waitress was good, as were the drinks. Very quiet on a Wednesday evening

Ordered fish and chips and a burger and fries. Fish was a little greasy and the burger was good nothing to rave about.

I grabbed some delicious snacks to keep me going and had the chance to try a few local beers. Each sip was a delightful taste of the area! The decor is charming and adds to the nostalgic vibe, making it the perfect spot to relax and soak in the memories shared by those who frequent it. Curds were enough for a table of four. Overall taste of the food, however, is average. Despite being a good looking B&B Burger, the bacon was burnt and the burger itself didn't have much seasoning. I expected to bite in tasting a medley of flavors, but each bite was just okay. Maybe if I had a yeasty beverage or two before eating, it might help raise my opinion? TABLE SERVICE: Waitresses were prompt and helpful. BARTENDERS: Remember those honey badger YouTube videos (narrated by Randall) from 2011/12? That's what I think of when I read Yelper reviews from Brittany H. and Jay V. [in the voice of Randall]: *Mitchell Street bartenders don't care; they do what they want!* For example, when the popular 80s song, Your Love by the Outfield, came on, the 'tender on duty decided to turn it up to 11...and left it there for half the song. Locals seemed unfazed, but visitors got to the point they asked the waitress if they could turn it down. I'm guessing he didn't much care for the feedback, because he then played the song twice more. *If you're up for a rowdy atmosphere with an array of local beverages + solid bar food, I encourage you to step into this windowless venue! If you're looking for a nice, sit down meal and great tasting main dishes (OR you're allergic to peanuts)...best walk to Tap 30 next door.

Second, the popcorn. The end. Now the bad news. Everything else. We are veterans restaurant/bar/cocktail lounge/ brewery patrons, so should've tuned into the fact that the place was empty at 7:30 even on a Tuesday night. My wife wanted a Chardonnay but was unfamiliar with one of them and asked for a taste. Seriously? What bartender sends a taste of wine in a shot glass with literally a quarter of that shot glass holding a "taste?" My wife had no idea what this wine was supposed to taste like so ordered a glass of Decoy, which was decent but quite overpriced. I ordered a Bellaire Brown out of the can which was cold & non-ruinable, thank God! We ordered a pizza with pepperoni, which used to be quite good here. Not anymore. As hard as it was to believe, in 8 slices there were NINE pieces of pepperoni. Total. We wondered if the kitchen was instructed to only use one piece per slice & maybe an extra one got slipped in by mistake. The pizza was undercooked, crust was tasteless, cheese bland, and sauce was not close to Italian. Maybe Contadina with a little oregano thrown into it. If you're a fan of Red Baron or other frozen pizza, stick to that because it's better. The best part of the pizza was the red pepper flakes we buried it with. I don't know if the new owners are cheap, unaware of why this place was once popular and populated, but we shan't be back soon. And from other recent reviews and the lack of crowd were not the only ones. Sad.

It's generally crowded at the dinner hour but that does not diminish the prompt, friendly service. The food has an excellent home cooked taste. I've had the perch dinner and their broasted chicken dinners; both tasty and filling. My wife also loves the broasted chicken. If you are searching for a restaurant that serves great food, reasonable prices in a warm atmosphere, this is a great selection! For years, I was unable to find a restaurant that served a chicken dinner. Not sandwiches or something disguised in a sauce, but broasted chicken dinner with sides. Well, this is the spot! Four pieces, cooked at ordering, tasty, moist and met my expectations. The menu has variety and other menu meals at adjacent tables appeared to be equally tempting. Our server was extremely friendly and was able to provide insights into the 50 plus year history of the pub, but also coming events at the pub and area all the while making sure our meal was pleasant. This was our first visit, but this is now on our short list! We recommend Paul's for an enjoyable meal.
