We had dinner at the Lewiston Lodge as an annual stop. We were greeted on walking in and promptly seated at a table with a terrific view of East Twin Lake. Our server perfectly timed coming to our table to review menu options and take our drink orders. My wife had a Turkey club panini. The paninis here are huge! And delicious. I had a perfectly seasoned grilled ribeye steak with redskin garlic potatoes, a medley of seasoned mixed vegetables of yellow and Orange carrots, green beans, and red peppers, and a house garden salad. First off the chicken was AMAZING!!!! I would get this every time. The sauce was so good and the veggies cooked to perfection. The chicken was tender and moist. The salad and bread were good. On Tuesday they have all you can eat pizzas from 2 till 8 pm. It's served with pop, salad, and apple pie pizza for desert. All you can eat Stops during the summer hours. I had fish and chips and soup. Friends said the pizza was decent they had 4 or 5 different kinds. My fish and chips were decent , the co-slaw was unique but very delicious. The fish was cooked perfectly. The best part it wasn't expensive the pizza buffet was 11.00 plus change and my fish and chips was only 14 bucks. Been coming here for 25 years. Wow has it gone down hill! Ordered my favorite Parmesan bake cod. The portion is about 1/4 of what it used to be. They actually cut 2 baby pieces into triangles to make 4! They were little bite size pieces! So incredibly small!!!! Mushy veggies! No side salads with dinner anymore? The firecracker shrimp appetizer had one squirt of the sauce on it. Most shrimp didn't have any. Brussels were so burnt. Every time we asked for something we had to wait forever! Asked for a knife 3 times before having to get up and get it myself. The place was only 1/2 full. My sister in law tried to go an hour later than us at 8PM and they were turned away even though the place was half empty. She was told the kitchen was too slow. What the heck happened to this place? The service at Lewiston Lodge was fantastic, our waitress was inviting and positive and did a good job checking in with us. The lodge was nice, with a great view of the water which would've probably been even better if it were the warm months. The Lodge Special pizza was good, the toppings were good and fresh although I wish the crust was a little more crisper. Still was a good pizza and wouldn't complain! The food is worse than ever. We avoided going there all summer because of a few bad experiences with the most recent owners. When Shannon and Tim owned it the quality of food was superb. Everyone wanted to go to the Lewiston Lodge. We went to a Christmas party on December 3 2025. I can't begin to tell you how bad the food was. The service was a 10. Paige went above and beyond waiting on about 30 of us. Steaks needed to be sawed on they were so tough. Salads have become lack luster. My bean soup was the worst ever. Mostly broth with chunks of red potatoes and it was sweet. Blah My husband's walleye was just ok. Veggies were blah and soggy. The food was great last night. However, the service was amazingly poor. The waitress, Chris, ignored us walking past more than several times, did not bring even one drink refill as promised, never followed up, never making eye contact, left us waiting after finishing for some time without asking if we wished dessert. She was not very busy. After a bit, I approached her while she was bussing the next table with another server. I indicated when she had a chance we needed a box for the remainder of our pizza. She snapped give me a minute. As a I turned to walk to the restroom, my wife indicated she gave me a scowl look behind my back. Another server brought a box. Still after waiting, no check. We went to the front desk and waited there, now wanting to just leave. Chris saw us, but made us wait some more. Finally came over to the front and we paid the tab. Not sure why this server had all the attitude. It really ruined what would have been a nice evening, something not consistent with the concept of the hospitality industry. Doubt, we will be going back anytime soon. Despite the food, poor service always ruins the meal. This server was doing no service to her employer by driving away a customer. read more

Service and ambiance great ! The food quality was lousy, especially my $32 steak. It was dry and thin. My potatoes were cooked with too much garlic. The rib eyes ordered by my son contained too much fat, poor cut as was my steak. Last time we will dine there. This used to be our go to spot when we come to Lewiston to use our cottage, but the last 3 times have progressively gone down hill. Last night was the last time we will be going there. When we arrive 2 employees and a customer were having a conversation close to greeting area. No knowledgeable,no we'll be right with you. When we were sat, the dink order was taking a long time..like 10 minutes and i'm not kidding. Then the entrees arrive and still no drink from the bar. The salad never came or the bread. I asked the server and told her we dont want the bar drink now and we never got bread or the salad. Her response was, do you still want the salad. It comes with it right? The steak was cooked medium i asked for no pink and I had to send it back. Multiple let downs...no sour cream requested,no cheese on the salad, No drink refills..ugh.. I get a server not being on their game, but usually after 1 mistake and bringing it to their attention, they will recover and do better. Unfortunately, it didn't. Left there disappointed. read more

Just wanted to give a shout out on an amazing waitress (Deborah Jo) who we were lucky enough to get at the Lewiston Lodge today. My husband and I decided to give the Lodge another try after unbelievably poor service last year. I won't get into details on what happened but let's just say it was enough to keep us away for a year. Deborah Jo, was very attentive and helpful with us on making our selection for a very enjoyable lunch. Our glasses never became empty, she made sure to check on us and the food was very tasty. Lewiston Lodge is... unique... to say the least. We are in Grayling annually for a week in the woods, and a friend suggested we check out the Lodge. While we are glad we now know it exists, we wish we would have taken our friend's suggestion on ordering some of the obvious hits like... pizza. Instead, we went off the obvious map. My wife ordered the "Oriental" chicken salad which was just plain bad. The ingredients were fine, but whoever made it hasn't actually tried "Oriental" food before. The entree I ordered came with a salad, and I asked for the maple vinaigrette dressing. (When In Rome right?) The dressing was basically a pancake batter thick, insanely sweet dressing. Super overwhelming and not a great way to start out the meal. I was able to down like 3 bites. I also regrettably ordered the "Mushroom Goat Cheese Chicken" which was without a doubt one of the worst dishes I have ever tried to consume in my entire 40 years on this earth. I am not overreacting when I say it was insanely bad. From seasoning (or lack thereof) to the quality of ingredients and level of doneness... it was horrible. I do not in my adult life remember a dish that more resembled hell than this one. I was able to consume 3 bites best, including the ridiculously bad sides, and decided to call it a day. All of that said, we will come back and try things like their burgers and pizza. Because when you are in the middle of fucking nowhere, the last thing you should be trying is "Oriental" salad and "Mushroom Goat Cheese Chicken." Our bad! read more

The first time we went the food was decent. The mac & cheese is very good but the bourbon glaze salmon was okay. Too sweet. But it came with a side of green beans and your choosing. Unfortunately the service was poor. Took about 10 minutes for someone to come and check us in. And our waitress took forever to get to our table every time - about 15 minutes to give us our check and 10 to take it from us. We ended up staying far too long than we wanted. The second time was better though. Service was much better. Still a little slow but not as bad as last time. This time I got the baked spaghetti and it was so good. Very filling too. A long-time customer, I just have never written a review. I believe, however, that Yelp should always be a place where we come to leave positive praise when it is called for. And the Lodge has never disappointed me! Unusual sometimes with up north restaurants (lol), we have never ever had a problem with anything here. Everyone is pleasant, seemingly nicely well trained. We have sat in both the dining room, and the bar and had good service either way. Have never tried their pizza, but our neighbors swear by it. We went for NYE dinner, and I got the perch dinner, hubs got a steak. I have never had the perch there, and I was nervous about the breading (A lot of places bread perch with thick breading). It came with a really light coating of some seasoned bread crumbs? Either way, it was delicious asf, and a nice big serving (6 or 7 pieces). Of course, if you ever eat with me, you will know that I am at one point going to try some of your food. lol. The hubs steak was really good too. Having always gone there and getting their steak salad (OMG my fave), and never trying much of anything else, I am glad I tried their perch. Also for being pretty busy on NYE, they were cranking out the food. We didn't wait very long, and the server was really fast giving us refills. Pro Tip: Last summer I brought my Mother in Law here, she tried the house maple dressing on the salad and didnt like it, I dont think it was the dressing itself, she just does not like sweet stuff at all. My tip is to ask for it on the side, if you've never had it before. They put it ON her salad and it ruined it for her. I judge restaurants by the quality of their salad dressings, and the Lodge definitely gets points in my book for creative, homemade options! read more
