Amazing omelette!!! With mushrooms. So fresh!

Omg best authentic Italian food!!! Pasta, steak, pizza, desserts, cappuccino, limo cello, vino, y omelettes were all incredible!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Also the BEST SERVICE you'll find in Rome. From the servers to the chef - all very friendly and welcoming! We came here over and over again during our 5 days in Rome.

There is no breakfast menu, but they were open for breakfast. Only omelette is available for 10 euros, that was impossible to eat - burned and not eatable. Everything is overpriced - cappuccino is 5 euros

    Ox tail! Soo good!!

We came here during our trip to Rome from a recommendation of a friend who used to live right in the area. It is a small but cute authentic Italian restaurant, which is exactly what we wanted to come to Rome to find. They have outdoor seating as well but it was too cold when we went so we sat inside. The staff is amazing! So welcoming and just so warm, it was nice to get good service. They recommended a great bottle of wine that we ended up ordering 2! Food: The mozzarella is a must!! I got the truffle gnocchi which was out of this world, my husband got the penne arrabbiata which he said he loved. We also ordered the Ox tail which they said was a fan favorite and it definitely did not disappointment. Meat fell perfected off the bone, it was delicious. It was such a great dining experience, recommend to everyone!

I DON'T KNOW HOW THIS PLACE ISN'T A 5 ***** RESTAURANT!!!! Hands DOWN BEST ITALIAN FOOD I have EVER had in MY LIFE http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/antica-taverna-roma?select=lYoQfKkQgTaNw5-y82pi8A#lYoQfKkQgTaNw5-y82pi8A Fresh+Simple= Ridiculously Delizioso Came back to the States and could never eat at Olive Garden, Macaroni Grill, etc...ever again Real Italian food has ruined me forever, but it was so worth it. And I had amazing service the 2 times I was here =]

Please don't believe the hype. The place is packed but OMG is the food bland, overlooked and the service is horrible. They also don't understand a lot of English since I ask for my chicken not to be overlooked when ordered, I took a bite found that it was overlooked and dry. I asked them to take it away and they wanted to try once again and put the very SAME piece of chicken right back in the grill and cooked it right into oblivion. And served that SAME chicken right back to me. Try Al Braciere (right around the corner) and you will walk away more than satisfied!!!

The restaurant is located on an atmospheric street in Centro Historico near Piazza Navona. It was really charming to dine alfresco here. For lunch we shared one fried zucchini flower appetizer and one mixed grilled vegetable (pepper, eggplant, zucchini) appetizer. The friend zucchini flower was delicious, in a light and crisp batter. For my main, I had the Octopus with Potatoes and he had the Tuna. The octopus was a bit over cooked. The liter of house white wine lacked body and was astringent. The pasta dishes that other tables ordered appeared to be better choices; I would order that next time.

Review # 1200 After…read moresome shopping on the Via cola Di Riemzo, we were ready for lunch. This spot was a Yelp find. We arrived just before they opened at 12:30. We asked for a table outside and the kind lady asked us if we had a reservation (oh oh). We didn't. No problem as we took our pick of one of the tables. Two levels inside with a small Bar in the back. Before we knew it, outside seating was full and inside also filled up-a good sign. We ordered a liter (ended up being too much but when in Rome...) of their house Red and enjoyed it. For starters, we ordered the Fried Artichokes (thick breading and will order the Roman style with garlic/vinegar next time), fried Zucchini and Suppli-Cacio Pepe. The Suppli was delicious and was enjoyed the most. For main, it was Pasta Carbonara (Guanciale )-Proper carbonara and the streak of not having a bad version of this dish in Rome continues. The sliced Beef with mushrooms was also delicious -super tender and thin pieces of beef (medium rare as requested). We asked if the Tiramisu was house-made. Our server answered, "yes, and I am the one who makes it." How could we not order after that?! One of the best Tiramisus we've had. Perfect balance of coffee dipped lady fingers with cream-delicious! Our Server was kind, attentive and full of hustle -she was covering a lot of ground. Don't miss this Gem if you are in the Prati district.

Already depressed knowing we were returning to the cold and fearful Minneapolis, we spent the day packing and wandering Prati. After drowning our sorrows at a few cocktail emporiums in the early evening, we walked into Su e Giu without a reservation close to 9:30. The two guys working the front showed us to a table, and we proceeded to have a perfect last night meal. Our appetizers and pastas were great, service was friendly, and I spent time reflecting on how wonderful Rome is, rather than thinking about our return to the fractured States. Su e Giu Cucina Romana is the perfect Roman restaurant to feel La Dolce Vita. It is a sweet life indeed.

I had possibly the most amazing chick food pasta a girl could imagine. Girls know what girl food is. The pasta in Italy is just better -obviously. But then put all sorts of girl flavors on it like Lemon and Orange, just lightly enough, zest with a small hint of cheese-..... omgosh. Yes, yes, and yes. Need my hubs to replicate at home. He is going to be busy trying to perfect this. Tagliatelle with orange and lemon parmesan. This was it. It was the best. Everything else we ordered was amazing as well. Wait outside. They don't have a sign telling you to wait, no server telling you to wait. You wait out there, wondering if you're in the right place, but then people stand behind you and you're like - oh! I'm here. This is the place. There are possibly 4 tables inside. It's small. I read about them being rude- we did not have that problem. In fact, they made a mistake and we kindly let them know we ordered something else- they corrected it and were nice about it.
