This place is highly recommended for certain dishes. The tonnaleri al nero di seppia con calamari is amazing, which consists of perfectly al dente squid ink pasta with cherry tomatoes and chopped calamari and a green mild (mystery) sauce. The carbonara is good too though a bit richer. We had a sauteed chicory as a side, which was similar to sauteed spinach, and very good. As a secondi, we had the meatballs with tomato sauce, also delicious and highly recommended. The service was prompt and attentive, though there is one older server who is quick to tell folks there are no tables available particularly to foreign tourists so they go away. read more

An absolute GEM in Trastevere. Simply put, this was the best meal I had while vacationing in Italy. Everything was exceptional. We came here upon recommendation from our Tour Guide (If you plan on visiting Europe and need a fantastic tour guide, message me and i'll set you up and give you details.) and she was spot on about this place. The service was exceptional and she wisely suggested that we pick similar starters due to the large size of our party. Their kitchen wouldn't be able to handle 15 different starter dishes and she was gracious enough to inform us of the situation so we would not be sitting their all night. The food was so delicious. The pasta was fantastic. The onion soup was delicious. But the star of the night had to be the beef with pistachio gorgonzola sauce. OH EM GEE this was to die for. The richness and flavor is unique and unlike anything i have ever tasted before. Word of advice, definitely get a pasta or some bread to balance the rich flavor. I decided to eat at this nice restaurant after checking out al the others around , which have as only advantage an outdoor seating but look like the usual tourist trap. I was lucky as I entered the restaurant as it opened, so they had a free table as locals dine later at night, therefore I suggest you reserve otherwise it's not likely you get one. One of the waiters, which were friendly and attentive throughout dinner, got me seated. As starters I chose salmon in orange sauce with rocket salad. It was a fresh and delicious and the orange sauce was a good counterpoint to the salmon. The I had the steamed seabream with zucchini, olives and cherry tomatoes. The dish smelled heavenly when they brought it. It was a pleasure to eat every bite. I ended the dinner with biscuits served with Passito wine as the lemon cake was not available. But it was nevertheless a great ending as the biscuits tasted great and even better after dipping them into the Passito wine. With a big glass of wine, all in all I ended paying 40€, but it was worth it. read more

A very well decorated restaurant that serves delicious food also. A couple recommended it to us as we both unsuccessfully tried to get into another restaurant. They insisted on the zucchini souffle and I'm glad we obliged. We started with that which was a wonderful, light, and flavorful starter barely held together by egg whites. Our pasta courses were equally good: the cabonara was unctous and rich and the cacio e pepe was creamy with a nice kick. Our two mains were the weakest of the offerings but still very good. The steak dish was lost in translation and a bit unexpected yet prepared well. Roman oxtail is never as tender as I would like and unfortunately Drago's was also the case, however it was much less salty than others I have had. We ended our meal with panna cotta and tiramisu; both were great desserts to end a delightful meal. read more

Our AirBnB was down the street from this place, and the owner of the apartment recommended that we eat here. She has lived in Trastevere her whole life and did not lead us astray. This was our best meal in all 2.5 weeks that we were in Italy. We got there early (6:30pm) without reservations and could see that most of the restaurant was reserved but for later times (so if you are going to go without reservations, get there early). It was my mom and I and a few other tables. We heard both tables next to us say it was there second night eating there in a row! We ate the sweet potato with balsamic vinegar, the zucchini soufflé, the pasta with spicy peppers, and tiramisu. All were super super delicious. read more

We had the cheese and pepper pasta and then the tempura octopus and meatballs as entrees. Loved the entrees. Pasta was good but we've maybe had better. Waiter made a wonderful wine recommendation that was only 24 Euro/bottle. Tirmasu was a great day way to end the evening. First off, I'm giving one star purely based on the service which started off good but then as soon as the place got busy it went completely downhill. We literally waited an hour to get our check after having asked 3 times. Totally unacceptable. The food itself was good to very good. Calamari app was a home run. My cacio e pepe was super solid. Saltimbocca was a miss but not bad in any way. My wife's gnocchi was good, not great and her filet in wine sauce was undercooked but otherwise good. Won't be back because of the service. read more

We returned here in July of 2015 with my parents (after being here in August 2014) on our very quick trip through Rome and we once again were ecstatic about our decision. We again had the heavenly calamari. We also had meatballs - who knew that meatballs could actually taste fresh! I never would have thought to use that word to describe meatballs, but they tasted fresh and delicious. We had a variety of delicious foods and desserts on this visit.
