The store itself the building is very nice, but they have a tiny almost nonexistent petite section. Some of the salespeople are nice some are very rude. I spend a small fortune on clothes and I have been a customer of Anthropologie for many years and I make purchases constantly. I purchased two tops that were a huge disappointment they were at full price, yet the material was awful thin & scratchy and see through also one of the tops wasn't completely sewn it had a huge hole in it at the seam. I had to wait 3 weeks for the inventory to come in for them to ship it to me and I immediately cut off the tags but realized they were awful and 1 was damaged. Returned them to the Westport store the next day after receiving them in the mail. The sales lady was high and almighty saying she would do me the favor just this one time but the tags need to be on for a return. WHAT HAPPEND TO GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE INSTEAD OF APOLOGIZING FOR MY INCONVENIENCE ONE WAS DAMAGED AND I HAD TO WAIT FOREVER TO RECEIVE THEM JUST TO TURN AROUND AND RETURN THEM THE NEXT DAY! I COULD NOT HAVE POSSIBLY WORN THEM IN ONE DAY! THEY NEED TO LEARN HOW TO TREAT CUSTOMERS with respect! HER COMMENT WAS UNCALLED FOR AN APOLOGY WOULD HAVE BEEN MORE APPROPRIATE. read more

The Anthropologie store in Westport is the biggest one I've ever seen. It's four floors of all kinds of things for your home and your closet. There is also a beautiful bridal section in this store. The store is massive, but also each floor has its designated categories, it's pretty fun walking around to see what else you'll discover here. I saw the most beautiful decorative accent chair. It's a literal piece of art, I mean for $700, it's just not in my budget. They have beautiful dishes, glasses, and a whole section dedicated to candles. There are many beautiful and unique furniture items in this store. The bridal area requires an appointment, but I saw some lovely dresses from where I stood. You can also find beautiful dresses and gowns for a variety formal events. There's also plenty of casual clothing items that have a quirky Anthropologie style to them. Since this store is so big, it has much more to offer then other Anthropologie stores I've previously been to. Their sale section is also pretty big. As beautiful as this store is, and as much as I love a lot of the items I see, most of them are a bit too costly. I still love going here and seeing everything. It's also a great place to go to get inspired by the pieces, colors and textures. read more

This is the largest Anthroplogie I've seen. It is well stocked and has great displays making it fun to browse. The clothes are cute and a little on the funky side but super pricey. I got a beautiful scarf/shawl during their 30% off Black Friday sale but, otherwise I don't usually buy clothes from here due to the high cost. Their home decor is cute and I love Capri's Fir and Firewood Candles. I light these candles all December. The staff was very friendly and although the line was long, it moved fast. There was a sales person standing next to the checkout line asking if anyone had any questions. It was appreciated. read more

My anthropology experience was very bad the workers were so rude to me I was trying on some I mask to get my eyebags away because they look horrendous in the morning so I have to cover up with make up and then just disgusting my eyebags and I walked out of the store and my iPad songs I wanted to try them for a couple hours and the lady yelled at me for trying them on do you want me to buy your products or not she asked me why are you doing this is so disrespectful and I responded with I need to try them and I'm going to buy them online but now I'm not gonna buy anything else from Anthropologie ever again in my whole life do not shop there at the Westport Connecticut store I am sueing they gave me a rash! I love this store and the service I receive from the staff in Westport is 5 star. They're super available and they've got a staff member or two in every floor so someone is always available to help you. If you're looking for a personal stylist, I strongly recommend Suzette. She is fabulous and is great with mixing patterns and colors I would never even think look good together! She's also very honest, so if she isn't keen on how you look in an outfit, she'll tell you and offer much better suggestions. Whenever I'm shopping for clothes I'm always asking if she's there to give me advise :-) All around 5 stars in my book!! read more

This store is gorgeous! It's filled with beautiful jewelry, makeup, home goods, skincare, clothes, and even shoes. Two stars for the store itself. What a shame the beauty isn't reflected in how the staff treats customers. Unfriendly and borderline rude. You get the sense they really don't want to help you. This is my second time here, and the poor customer experience was repeated. If the owners intended to create a vibe that makes you want to linger and spend money, then they'll need to do a better job hiring and training the staff. Won't be back! read more

I was going to give 5 stars but I'm giving 4 due to a recent experience over the phone. I called a few weeks ago to ask about a BHLDN bridesmaid gown that had gone on sale for a great price. I wanted to have my bridesmaids order them before most of the sizes were gone. I called to see if they had at least 1 dress in stock so that I could take a look at it prior to ordering. I was told by an associate that she could not help me as she wasn't from the BHLDN section and that all their associates were in a meeting. She did take my number then stated "oh the meeting is getting out now, I'll give them your number and they will call you back right away". A few hours later, my call wasn't returned. I called back and was told again that an associate was not available in that department, they took down the description and style # and said I would get a call back shortly. Again, no returned call. I called back at close to 7pm and explained that this was my third time calling and would just like to know if there was a dress at the store I could come look at. The associate quickly responded "no, we actually sold out quickly". I can't say I was confident they even looked. On a positive note, after a pretty bad bridal dress appointment at David's Bridal, I scheduled an appointment to try on dresses at Anthropologie. I must say, I was blown away at how the appointment went. The associate seemed very experienced, was very patient, and insisted on going through their whole gown selection to pick out any dresses I was interested in trying on. I do wear a size 12-14 in gowns and was somewhat skeptical that I would be able to find a dress I loved that would fit me well. The associate was very supportive, honest about what dresses would come in my size, and gave great advice on what would look good on my body type. The associate was also very genuine, in no way made me feel like I was too big, and only spoke positively about my body type. I never felt pressured to try on a dress I didn't like or to pick a dress. I left the appointment feeling very confident and knowing that I picked the perfect dress. read more

The store is absolutely gorgeous, the home, beauty, and jewelry departments are great. However, the clothing has missed the mark. Everything is super overpriced, not in line with what the original Anthropologie store had been. Anthro used to have reasonable , funky clothing with a bohemian edge, and now it looks like it strives to be "over trendy" but misses the bar. Anyone with an average budget will be hard pressed to find clothes in that location, unless you hit the sales rack where everything is crammed in and unappealing due to the space constraints. The mirrors in the dressing room are horrible, they distort your body and not in a positive way. I will also mention that the music is super loud and truly limits my shopping time there because it begins to drive me crazy. This is not Abercromie, where one is screamed at by music. The staff, is WONDERFUL. Everyone there is willing to help and is super friendly and knowledgeable. There is always someone in the near vicinity to ask for anything. I will continue to shop here, but not for clothing unless I see significant changes. read more

I love Anthropologie and shopped at the one in LA so often that the manager gave me a professional discount card. I am told these no longer exist. This location is beautiful and has unusual and very stylish clothes. What it doesn't have is anyone who wants too be friendly or helpful. A saleswoman literally walked into me and scoffed and kept going. I spent an hour wandering around looking for sweaters for me and for gifts. Not a single person approached me. I got a few up and down looks, probably because I am a size 14 even though I order "plus sizes" on the Anthropologie website, it wasn't clear if they carry XL in the store. This is a retail store. Isn't the goal to sell items? It seems the employees are more interested in merchandising than actually selling. read more

I shopped at the old Westport location quite often over the past seven years - Anthropologie is one of my go-to stores for clothing and gifts. Today was my first time at their new location and I was underwhelmed. The biggest issue I had were he mirrors in the dressing room - they had a widening effect which couldn't possibly be more unflattering. Also, it felt like there was less of a clothing selection although their jewelry selection was better than the old store. Anthropologie is one of those stores where you really have to try on the clothes before you purchase them since they often have unusual fits and cuts (part of what makes their clothing so great) so it's unfortunate that the store doesn't have a wide selection of what is offered online. read more

I LOVE Anthro which is why I am giving this store more than one star. This review is for the Westport location and not Anthro itself. I am also giving 2 stars because it is a nice layout and convenient location. They need to either hire younger employees to "get with the times" and know how to use technology or they need to hire employees who are willing to go the extra mile and not be lazy. I went in and they didn't have an item I wanted at the store and so I asked the older woman working behind the counter if she could order it for me as I have had other locations do this for me before when they haven't had my size. Her response was "have you ever ordered from us online?" Seriously????? Yes I have, but I am here and I would like to avoid shipping costs and I am HERE now!!!! (Btw she wasn't busy and there was no line so she had all the time in the world to help me order this) I was also returning an item with another woman before the above and while she did it, it took her like 20 minutes to process the return. One more complaint.... My friend had bought a shirt the other day from them for $150 and it went on sale to $76 plus 30% off. So we are talking a huge deal! Anyway she was traveling all day and could not get to the store to have them refund the difference. Anyway she called the local store in Westport who told her that they can't do it over the phone and you HAVE to come in the store in person with the receipt. Well she ended up going to another Anthro in Boston to get the difference refunded. The lady at the Boston store said she should have been able to call in to the Westport store and they do have the technology to do it over the phone at the store. So they lied and have horrible customer service. I am honestly thinking these women who work here need to be trained again or replaced with people who actually know what customer service is. read more

Very nicely styled store in a beautiful building with excellent staff! Helpful, knowledgeable and even if you buy one tiny little trinket, they wrap it beautifully and treat you like royalty. We had a very lovely experience making a decision on a sofa. They have a nice variety on the floor, we were given several sample fabric pieces to take home to make the final decision, and we were not rushed to make up our minds just because a promotion was ending. Placing the order over the phone was easy (we are an hour away and didn't want to drive back; yet, an online ourchase for a larger order just didn' t feel right...) I absolutely recommend this store - we'll sure return in the future. read more

I think this store is great, with some really funky apparel and I enjoy the different items they sell for the home. However, I think they are completely overpriced. Most items start out at $88 and that is just for a cotton shirt. They do have good sales which is when I make most of my sales. read more

Just ended a phone conversation with a store representative asking about items that the online system said were in stock. The woman asked what the first item was. I told her and she continued to say that the item was not in stock, however the warehouse has it. I told her that I knew this, however noticed that all three items I wanted were shown to be in stock, so in order to save the shipping costs wanted to purchase them directly from the store. She got very nasty and said "well you'll just have to order them online". Is this because the first item I told her was a sale item?? This store lost my business. read more
