Very unassuming from the outside, you wouldn't think much of it just walking by except for the beautiful decor on the patio area. I decided to stop in because i was next door at 7-11, and a thunderstorm was approaching. During my visit i was pleasantly greeted with a calm, soothing, Italian jazz like vibe and a very friendly accommodating staff. The menu was simple, easy to read and detailed. Very, VERY, reasonable prices, and the restaurant overall has a beautiful atmosphere. I had the warm ham and cheese sandwich and it was absolutely phenomenal, my only regret is that i didn't order the large one the 1st time (they have multiple sizes available). They also have a wide range of wines and drinks if you're a drinker. Positioned directly across from a gym, and an autobody shop its in a great location to get some errands done or bring a date. Recently tried Anthony's on a date night with my wife. Cozy restaurant with nice ambiance. Service was great. Wait staff was polite and efficient and very helpful. Food was delicious. I have now been here twice. The first time I came here I had the Alfredo and the second time I had the spaghetti with meat sauce. The second time I went here we had dessert and it was the brownie, we asked for ice cream with it and it was delicious. We will definitely come here again in the future. Located next to the 7-11 in Purcellville off of Main Street is this new family restaurant. I've sent so many different restaurants in this place. I hope this one stays. While coming back from Bluemont my family was looking for a place to eat. We decided that we want to try a place we have not been to before. We figured Purcellville would be the place to go because we haven't eaten at too may places there. It just so happen this was the first place we saw so we stopped. When we arrived around 12:30, the place was packed. We were lucky to get a table. This is a good sign I guess. We were seated and our drink orders were taken. I ordered the lamb gyro with onion rings, my wife go the rubin, and my daughter got the cheeseburger. Even the place was packed the food was coming out pretty fast. It was sort of strange because my wife's rubin came out first about 10 minutes after we ordered, but that was it. The gyro or cheeseburger came out 5-6 minutes later. Strange. Oh well. No biggie. My wife said the rubin was good, and it was not greasy. My 2 year old daughter had no complaints with the cheeseburger. My gyro was o.k., nothing exciting, it was a little skimpy on the meat. The onion rings were good. I could have eaten a plate of them. The décor on the inside was nice. It was modern, the tables were a nice dark wood, windows surrounded the entire restaurant. It was nice and bright. The service was good and the employees were friendly. This place specializes in both Italian and Mediterranean food. Overall this place is o.k., it quick and you can get a decent meal. Next time we are around I'll try some of the other dishes, and hopefully I'll up my rating. We had lunch here on a short trip through Loudon County. It was a beautiful, warm afternoon so we sat outside under the canopy as did everyone else. Service was pleasant. My wife ordered chicken shishkabob with a Caesar salad. I had the gyro platter with a house salad. We both liked our salads for their fresh ingredients and homemade dressings. The main courses, however, were bland. The gyro meat had no flavor and I would not have been able to tell you what I was eating if blindfolded. 1st time I had ordered food from Anthony's from their Catering menu on line. Watch out!! The prices on their website are not the same as when you pick up the food...20% higher!! I questioned the price and they said they have to raise their prices because of inflation, covid, etc... I get that and understand but change your prices on your website. My firm hosted a private educational event at Anthony's and our experience could not have been more unpleasant. They charge a private room fee of $400, which we anticipated, only the service was so heinous that we politely asked for the room fee to be refunded due to the fact that the server was in and out the entire time, walking in front of the presenter, and talking over the presenter. We arrived one hour early to discuss with our server how to best run the event in terms of dinner orders and drinks, only to have our server changed at the last minute, causing complete chaos and disorganization to ensue. She was the nicest girl and very clearly was frazzled- this is a management problem. We do 10 of these events a month and we have never seen such atrocious customer service and management. read more

We have been coming here for years and have gotten to know the staff including Tony, the hardest working restaurant owner in the Blue Ridge. Always had a solid, good meal for a reasonable price. Locals are regulars and repeat customers, that says a lot. What got them to 5 Stars for me is when I asked for a twist on the Combo Grill that went back to my deployment days. Without a blink, they transformed my entree to a Kabuli Palaw complete with hummus and salad. Really impressive. Plus I can ask for a wine that fits the occasion without dealing with a wine menus. All this for a reasonable price served by people who care - yea, this gets all five stars. read more

I got the Kabob Combo. The meat was over cooked and dried out. The salad was covered in oily herbs and was limp. It came with a spicy yogurt sauce instead of the traditional tzatziki sauce which was much needed to combat the hard meat. The rice was good though. read more

I Was there for pizza last Friday night. We ordered a large pizza supreme and 10 wings. There was a 35 minute takeout wait. We sat in the bar had a drink until out food was ready. On Friday nights there was live music very nice. The servers are very friendly. When the large supreme came and 10 wings the total was 33.00. The food was Great. While I had heard that this place was good, I did not share the sentiment. Very small tables that could barely fit 5 people, a very strong tar smell from the parking lot should you choose to dine outdoors. The marinara sauce for our fried calamari was without flavor and extremely watery. The server got our kids order for meat ravioli wrong and brought us cheese. We figured it wasn't worth sending back since everyone was eating at this point. Turns out the cheese ravioli would give my child food poisoning where he spent the next 2 days vomiting up ricotta and writhing in pain not eating anything or sleeping. Maybe if they got the order right in the first place we wouldn't be in this situation with a 14 month old. The restaurant is awkwardly configured and the staffing out weighs the clientele, which should have been a good indicator that people don't eat here. No baby changing table in either bathroom. Prices are way too high for the quality of the food. As I sit here and listen to my baby screaming because his stomach hurts, I can safely say we will not be eating here ever again. read more

If the popularity of a restaurant can be measured by the lack of empty seats at lunchtime, then Anthony's Italian Mediterranean Family Restaurant in Purcellville is a smash hit. We stopped in for a quick bite at high noon and saw the indoor and outdoor seats vanish in about 10 minutes as the lunch crowd rolled in. Anthony's is on the west side of town (next to the 7-11 for people who know Purcellville) and this location has seen a lot of restaurants over the years. But the current owners seem to have hit on a menu and price combination that works well for everyone. The menu is pretty standard fare, with gyros, souvlaki, and subs. Entrées include various pastas and pizzas, strombolis, and calzones are all on the menu, too. We decided to try the Souvlaki Sandwich and the Chicken Shawarma sandwich. Both were served piping hot, wrapped in a pita and rolled in foil to make it easy to eat. A side of battered fries came with each sandwich. The souvlaki was big chunk of well-seasoned chicken, lettuce, tomato, onions, feta, and olives. The shawarma was slices of chicken with the same veggies and tahini sauce, which added an interesting twist. The service was prompt, especially given the crowd, and the food was tasty. It'll be interesting to go back and try the pizzas, pasta, and calzones for dinner. Two lunch sandwiches with fries and a couple of iced teas came to about $10 a head, which is not bad for a sit down lunch. They are open for lunch and dinner every day and you can find Anthony's at 620 West Main St. in downtown Purcellville. read more

It boggles my mind why this place is PACKED almost every night. I drive by this joint every evening on my way home and it seems like the parking lot is at capacity. Why? In my two trips, the food was pretty mediocre (meatball sub once, terrible... pizza the other time, decent). Prices are reasonable and the service is barely average.
