    Pepperoni pizza

Moved to P-Ville a year ago and drive by this place often. Decided to finally give it a try by ordering pizza...I'm disappointed! An Italian place should be able to make a good pizza to claim the name. Unfortunately, Anthony's pizza needs help. I got an XL pepperoni pizza and a medium Margherita, taste is missing something, oily, I taste the cheap vegetable oil and lots of sodium to overpower the cheap ingredients, crust is OK, and they skimp on the pepperoni and fresh mozzarella. The Margherita pizza didn't even have any basil when the description of ingredients says it has fresh basil. I'm sorry but not a happy customer. Has potential but needs some revamping and rebranding.

We had dinner there on 2/14/2025. My wife had the Chicken Carciofi. It's a sautéed chicken breast topped with artichokes, roasted red peppers, spinach and mozzarella cheese. It was delicious. Chicken nice and tender. Fettuccine on the side with a white wine pesto sauce with a hint of tomato, delicious. I had the Gnocchi all Sorentina. The Gnocchi were cooked perfectly but I wasn't overly impressed with the dish. The light tomato sauce was bland. I also had a side of meatballs. Meatballs were were tasty, I liked the sauce with the meatballs better than the sauce with the Gnocchi. Overall a decent meal.

Ravioli stuffed shrimp with basil and a pink vodka sauce--reminiscent of New Jersey!

Delicious stop while driving home from visiting some beautiful Loudoun wineries. Indoor and open air outdoor restaurant with Sinatra music softly playing to enjoy our meals.

Whats more sad is that I paid $15 for something that isn't at all as advertised. I ordered the Chicken Souvlaki Greek Salad as I love grilled meat. Never have I had souvlaki in over a dozen voyages to Greece that was wet boiled or microwaved, as this chicken seemed to be. Souvlaki are grilled skewers. This place should NOT sell the pile of bland, blond, wet chicken breast as "souvlaki." The "Greek" salad was sad. No other way to describe it. It had the ingredients of a Greek salad (lettuce, tomato, cucumber) but the feta was meager and there were no onions. The tzatziki was more akin to ranch dressing (not made with yogurt- real Greek yogurt would hold a spoon standing in it. This was almost liquid.) ) and the pita was a doughy, cheap substitute. Their listing says fresh bread, and this pita was not so much. The owner seems nice and personable, and I wish him well but I also wish he would pay more attention to the product he delivers, especially if they call it, Greek. UPDATE from owners rebuttal: I write fair reviews as I experience the food. The issue is not whether you have fresh ingredients or quality chicken: it is clearly stated what you served was just not souvlaki in anyway, it was wet sautéed chicken and that was not traditional tzatziki. It was tzatziki-like sauce. Period. If you go to a pizza place to buy a pizza and you get high quality toasted bread with excellent tomato sauce and good mozzarella- it's still not a pizza, no matter the quality, and you shouldn't call it a pizza. I don't deny you are Greek, proud or otherwise, just serve what you advertise. Good luck to you too!

The lacquered salmon wasn't at its best this time, but it was still pretty good. Their assortment of desserts is always well presented, and everything on the buffet stays fresh. The staff constantly comes back to refill the trays with eggs, bacon, fruit, cheeses, and plenty of other choices. I heard the Belgian waffles were a little heavier and not as light as usual, but I typically avoid waffles at an all-you-can-eat brunch anyway--they're mostly filler. If waffles trip your trigger, though, they're there. It's a little pricey, but if you stick with the beef and fish and have a couple of good platefuls, you'll leave full and feeling like you got your money's worth. Magnolias continues to be a dependable choice for a family brunch.

Accordingly, I recommended it to my parents for a special meal, and round two was not as good. We were sat upstairs, which detracted from the ambience substantially, but worse was our server. From the moment she greeted us, we could tell she did not want to be there. She brought red wine in white wine glasses and a bread basket with only three pieces to a table of four people. I pointed this out and requested more bread, so that each of us could have a piece, but she never returned with more as she agreed to do. (Eventually a different server brought us more bread upon second request.) After food was served, I don't recall seeing her to check in until we'd finished eating. Absolutely unacceptable when you're waiting on a table that's putting down more than $250 before tip. Food wise, pretty happy. Fried green tomato was good; pincaha was salty but well cooked (chimichurri overpowering); duck was nice; and pastas were rich. I'd be back but specify that I want a table on the main floor, not upstairs between the bathroom and kitchen. I'd also be on the lookout for the redheaded waitress with the chip on her shoulder.

It is not cheap, but it is worth it to us. Each pizza is one size and will serve 2 people. The menu is very limited beyond pizza. This is an example of picking one thing and doing it very well. The kitchen is tiny, and seating is very limited so we always take the pizza home. They are closed Sundays.

But...Oh my gosh! This was one of the best wood fired pizza's we've had in years! Excellent sauce, phenomenal buffalo mozzarella, fresh basil, tomatoes and onions! Be still my heart! Husband added some feta! So good! And the Greek Salad was fresh, perfectly balanced with a tasty dressing! We we served by one of the owners, (my chemo-brain has already lost her name...) who was so kind, friendly and accommodating that we felt as if we were regulars. There are only three tables inside, with lots of dining outside... We ate inside, at the center table. We could watch the pizza making process from our table, which was very interesting and nice. They made the end of a Birthday getaway a success! If you're looking for a delicious pizza with a terrific salad and a wonderful team, this is without a doubt, the perfect place to eat while in the Lovettsville area. (Forgot to take a photo!)
