a plate of salad and a sandwich
Kristin D.

This pizza place had a REALLY nice side salad that comes as a side option with their sandwiches and subs. Usually pizza place salads are anemic but this one was so nice: cucumbers, tomato, red pepper, red onion, assorted spring lettuces. Very nice bread for the subs. Another nice bonus: if you get a sandwich, soft drinks are free! I didn't care for the mozzarella sticks- I like them lighter on the breading and less time in the deep fryer.

Sparse cheesesteak with a single miniature tomato, brown lettuce and very little meat.

This was the first time we went to Manhattan after moving to Purcellville recently. The cheesesteak was weak. Take a look for yourself in the photo. There was barely any meat, and the lettuce was brown, with one tiny tomato. The fries were ok but there wasn't many of them. We had friends over and wanted to try this place out. I was so embarrassed that this is what we brought back for them. Total fail.

My husband and I love Manhattan Pizza in Purcellville. Their pizza and wings are our favorite on the menu. We've always done delivery, but today we did pickup. After we paid for our order, a man who worked there (we think he was the owner or manager) started insisting we try the frozen yogurt. He gave us a handful of samples and then said, "Which ones do you like? I'm going to give you some to-go." He was so friendly and happy. My husband and I each picked a flavor and he scooped two generous portions and gave them to us for free with a huge smile on his face. He absolutely made our day. Manhattan pizza has always been our go-to pizza place but now it's more than that. It's a business that cares about their customers. To us, that's worth more even more than delicious pizza. Next time we place an order, we are definitely adding frozen yogurt. It was delicious!!!

Absolutely horrendous. Pizza literally was just bread and cheese, had no sauce or flavor. Couldn't even finish it

The pizza just had no flavor. Not only are we one and done, but 'our' backyard crows will get the last couple of slices.

Most boring pizza in Purcellville. Doughy, not much taste. Even Dominos is better.

We chose the Gallagher white pizza with five cheeses as a break from traditional red sauce pizzas. This was a delicious pizza and we love cheese. It is a salty pizza (not overly so, though) due to having five cheeses. We also like Gorgonzola cheese (which is a similar flavor profile to blue cheese, so keep that in mind). We will definitely visit again if we're in the area.

We love that this location has an expanded menu and definitely that they have a dining room. (Wish the other location had the ability to dine in as well) The staff here was very friendly and helpful. We placed our order to include getting a pack of their cookies. The pizzas were made immediately and we were served in about 15 minutes... they came out piping hot and smelling amazing! They looked outstanding too! Flavors were incredible! Their crust is really some of the best in the Northern VA area. We recently spent a couple of weeks in various regions of Italy enjoying pizza at many places and I have to say Knead is very comparable. The tomato sauce is perfectly sweet and so tasty as well. Everything was great. But we were full after enjoying the pizza, so we took the pack of cookies home. We enjoyed only 1 the next day, which we split because they're so huge! Those are great too! Definitely would return and suggest trying them for some really good pizza!

I've been here a few times now to get our Greek fix in Purcellville. My Deli & Cafe is easy to…read morelocate - it's one of the front shops located in Old Theatre Centre (an old movie theater), off of East Main Street. They have a few parking spots in the front with additional parking in the back. I would say this is more of a deli/sandwich shop featuring a few Greek items on the menu (gyros, dolmades, souvlaki, etc.) as opposed to a full-on Greek bistro/cafe. I will note that their catering does have more Greek variety (pastichio, spanakopita, moussaka, etc.). We called in a pick-up order for lunch. Online ordering is also available on DoorDash. Food was ready for pick-up within 15 minutes. I got the regular gyro on pita bread (just the sandwich, not the platter - the platter comes with a side salad... I wish they had fries as a side option instead of chips or a salad, but if they're not really frying anything else, I get it... but I digress). The gyro came with a good amount of thick slices of the gyro meat (which is a mix of beef and lamb), tomatoes, onions, and tzatziki sauce. I'm used to red onions served with my gyro, but they used white onions instead (not a big deal, but the red onions give the gyro a different bite). The gyro came in a thick, fresh pita and a small handful of potato chips (I wasn't aware that the sandwich came with any sides, so the chips were a nice surprise). No complaints about my gyro, but I would've liked some feta on my gyro and more tzatziki. I think next time, I would get the platter because then I could use the salad to add some more toppings and sauce to the gyro. Overall, the gyro was a good, filling serving size for me, and the price was reasonable at $11 for the gyro (it's $13 for the gyro platter aka gyro + side salad). We also ordered the King Gyro on pita bread (double portion of meat; $15) and the Gyro Salad ($15). The king size's gyro portion was definitely more substantial, and it also came with a handful of potato chips plus an extra container of tzatziki. The Gyro Salad was a simple Greek salad with gyro meat and pita pieces. Dressing and tzatziki were served on the side, and it was topped with feta. The veggies were fresh and crisp - again, no complaints. We also ordered a Reuben ($13) thinking it would be a classic Reuben served on rye, but note that they only have two bread options - a sub roll or pita bread. Ours was served on the roll, so it ended up being more of a Reuben sub/panini. The sandwich was still enjoyable, but it wasn't what we were expecting. My Deli & Cafe is a solid lunch option in Purcellville. Support local!

Overall the prices are high for the quality. 1) Hamburger and Fried green tomato appetizer were very good and delicious. Definitely suggest 2) French Onion soap was agreed to by everyone at the table as not very good ( almost sweet) and the worst they ever had. 3) The blacked shrimp were over cooked and tasted bad ( they were in my Cobb salad which was simply ok). Would definitely not get again 4) Crab had a great deal of filler. We will visit again, but will try other items. For the price, our expectations should be met much higher.

But...Oh my gosh! This was one of the best wood fired pizza's we've had in years! Excellent sauce, phenomenal buffalo mozzarella, fresh basil, tomatoes and onions! Be still my heart!
