We came to check this place out for lunch, and we ordered: +the Jones Beach sandwich - described as a vegetarian option, this sandwich had eggplant, provolone, roasted tomatoes, red peppers, pesto, and a red pepper-feta spread; the bread used were extremely stale and was not the focaccia bread as it was then stated on their menu; at first, we thought it was toasted, but it was not; also, the sandwich was missing ingredients, such as the roasted tomatoes (but the menu seemed to be updated since then) + the cheesesteak cigars - came with a horseradish dipping sauce; these were not heated all the way through and came out lukewarm/cold +a pizza with half mushrooms and half cheese - we love stinky and strong cheeses, but this had a very unpleasant odor to it that we were unable to eat it We did ask for a to-go box, which took some time to receive; the staff didn't seem to care nor interested in how everything was; when we were leaving, no one was available at the front. Tables are reserved for 2.5 hours, so I assume the party before us didn't use their full time. We ordered an appetizer and a bottle of wine. The brie cake was delicious--even for someone who doesn't usually like goat cheese (it was layered in)--but unfortunately, no one in our group enjoyed the cheesecake. The winery is both dog- and kid-friendly. All the parents we encountered kept their children supervised, which is a winery rule and one I really appreciate now that we have kids ourselves. Most of the dogs were also very well behaved, though one was repeatedly growling at passing dogs, which was off-putting. While the winery can't control every patron, we choose to leave our dog at home when she's not in a social mood, and it would be nice if all dog owners did the same.

Great winery!…read more Traveled to this venue on a Saturday and was pleasantly impressed! Firstly, parking is super easily due to the winery being spacious. When you walk in, you are greeted by the welcoming ambiance of the winery. There's plenty of seats since the venue is large and you're able to seat yourself. For the wines, my friend and I opted to do the wine tasting. I'm more of a red girly so I chose the white and red combination. Each wine was delicious and every choice was reasonable in price. The staff was amazing at explaining each wine choice and offered suggestions based off my likes. That Saturday they had live music so it was a joy being able to do our wine tasting and listen to the great band. I will definitely be back!

I've always been intrigued by the idea of Farmer's Markets - but I've never taken the time to visit one - which is strange given my interest in cooking. Well I had decided earlier this week that this Sunday was going to be a gorgeous day out - and that I would trek out west to check it out (The Plains is not that far from Haymarket). I pulled in and there were lots of folks checking out and buying the fresh farm produced produce - lots of vegetables and fruits. Most were under small tent or canopies - I was just about to leave when I noticed there was more to see! A whole inside area with vendors of all sorts! So I wandered through - there were all sorts of delicious organic and homemade goods to be had - salsa, guacamole, baked goods, jellies, jams, honey, maple syrup, arts and crafts - I was very impressed! I tasted a Virginia made Beef Pepper snack, beef jerky, pickles, salsa, and guacamole. I ended up buying a couple of the Beef Pepper sticks - 2 for $3.00. I also bought two tomatoes and a small container of fresh jalapeno peppers. I was sorely tempted to buy several pints of the fresh black raspberries - but that can wait until next time!
