Food: 3/5 - food was very solid. Large portions and tasted good. For the price you would expect a bit more of a restaurant quality but absolutely no complaints on it. Nothing notable however. Service: 3/5 - fine. Waiter was friendly on top of things and quick with it. We did have our food come out in two batches (as in 4/7 people got their food, 3 others had to wait 10min for theirs). Service was ultimately fine given their schtick here. Ambiance: 5/5 - if you are a sucker for musicals, you will love this spot. All or most of the staff perform live singing and a bit of a show. Was awesome. The voices of the staff were great. Not to mention the inside has a great and lively vibe. This the entire reason to come and return. Overall: 4/5 - barring better food, this place could bump to a 5/5. Assuming the prices are paying for the singing performance. Either way, worth a stop in Patchogue. Best Dish - Nothing Would Return - Definitely

I wanted to love this place, especially since I planned my visit during my birthday week. The…read moresinging by two or three of the staff members was superb. They were truly talented and made the experience memorable. The rest of the performances were just okay. Where they lost me was the exorbitantly high pricing for the food they serve. We had wings, mozzarella sticks and a cheese pizza. The menu is mostly American food, and based on what we were served, it tasted more like food that was purchased and reheated rather than freshly prepared in-house. Nothing really stood out as fresh or made from scratch. The drinks were also over $20 each. They looked nice, but unfortunately, they did not taste good at all. If I ever return, I would stick to an appetizer and some water, mainly to enjoy the singing. I would eat my main meal somewhere else.

There was plenty to do, including a pool table, darts, a large TV, and a DJ area that added to the vibe. The staff was efficient, quickly making drinks and keeping the area clean throughout the event. I had a mimosa and sampled a few appetizers, all of which were tasty. Unfortunately, it was a rainy day, so I did not get to enjoy the outdoor area, but it looked like it would be a great spot to hang out in nicer weather. The bathroom was cute and thoughtfully decorated, though there was only one stall. Even though I did not get to try any entrees, I still enjoyed my visit and would consider coming back to experience more of the menu.

They were attentive, accommodating and made sure every detail was taken care of. Their professionalism and genuine care made the entire day feel effortless for us, allowing us to simply relax and enjoy this very special occasion. The food was excellent -- our guests couldn't stop talking about how delicious everything was! The venue itself was awesome, and everyone love the atmosphere and the vibe. It was the perfect setting for an memorable celebration, and our guests truly enjoyed every minute of it. My only complaint was that the weather did not cooperate. It was raining and we couldn't enjoy the front patio. Melissa who is the manager was extremely helpful in helping me plan the day. I can't thank her enough for steering me in the right direction all the time. I would totally recommend Goldy's Gems for your private party!

When in search of a place that would make my family of picky eaters happy (ie: a vegan, a…read morevegetarian, a traditionalist, and two that try to make the other three happy but like good food), WhiskeyNeat appeared like a gods-send on Yelp. I've been to Main Street Patchogue a few times before and I'm always amazed at how it's now like Huntington, with tons of eateries, bars and places to hear live music. It was a busy late Spring Friday night and my cousin told me if we were there just two weeks later (ie, post Memorial Day), there would have been lines to get in anywhere. So make resos! I made one easily earlier that day and when we arrived around 7:30, it was not packed, but it is pretty loud in there even half full. Our waiter, Jonathan, expertly took such great care of us from start to finish, even taking my father's dad jokes in stride. There's a solid cocktail menu, but I had a couple glasses of a better-than-decent prosecco. My cousin loved his espresso martini. For food, count on a couple respectable vegan entrees and I went with the Japanese eggplant with cashew ricotta. The eggplant is delicious, slightly sweet with a creamy rather than chewy (thank god) texture. The cashew ricotta is also tasty, but I do think it needed to be blended a bit more to remove the slightly grainy texture (the cashews might have needed more soaking). My father loved his French onion soup and pastrami sandwich. Separate paragraph for the fries. They deserve it. I'm glad we ordered these to share- it's an enormous platter of them. I appreciated that they were salted perfectly. I appreciate restaurants that can make satisfy a variety of preferences and dietary restrictions. The vibe here is festive and vibrant and a great choice for groups and families.

Better late than never on using it to get this five star review written up! But seriously, I thought I knew downtown Patchogue pretty well, and yet I never noticed or heard anyone really going to WhiskeyNeat until that gift card was in her possession. When we went for dinner, it was a Wednesday night on the earlier side and at the time, no one was inside this relatively small yet cozy-ish bar/pub place. I thought perhaps things here aren't that great, but by the time we left, the inside was almost full, and my feelings were definitely wrong. This place is great! Now these Wednesday crowds could be due to the half price options they throw out there all day long. ANY drink at WhiskeyNeat is half off on hump day plus there are a handful of small plates that also follow this discounted direction. I'll say things might be a little pricier if you're not coming here in the middle of the week, but it's well worth making the trip to slash at least your drinks (and maybe some grub) in two. Enough about all that because the food, drinks, and service is where this place really shines. I downed two of their bourbon cocktails (Goldrush and Billionaire) both being outstanding in taste and quality (my wife enjoyed a well-made margarita). Food-wise, we sampled some hand cut fries (delicious), short rib croquettes (delectable), a mahi taco (fresh), pulled pork slider (tender), gochujang wings (zingy), and a twice baked potato (creamy). All these items were half price (reminder, they were small plates of grub so don't freak for how much we ate). We also paid full menu price to try a side of hot honey cauliflower which was fantastic as well. Before wrapping up, I do want to give a shout out to the staff or at least our waitress who was friendly, helpful in giving us drink options, and chatted with us a bit about WhiskeyNeat and other good nearby food spots. She guided us through the menu on what to order and even realized she had forgotten to put in one of our small plate orders without us asking. Good service always helps in reaching a full slew of Yelp stars. Overall, it may have taken almost two years to use the gift card to WhiskeyNeat, but I'm glad we finally did because dang was it a superb meal. Our waitress said "You'll be back" once we told her it was our first time and even before we had finished eating everything. I mean hard to disagree with that statement. Perhaps I'd aim to save some mulah and only come on a Wednesday, but with great drinks and grub to be had, it might just be worth coming any time, gift card or not!

Food: 2/5 - food was not as good as the last time. Pretzel bun sliders last time were significantly better, also messed up the cook on them (ordered well done, received medium). Had the Tuscan Panini and was 80% bread with a thin chicken cutlet. Very disappointing food this time around. Fries were definitely frozen with some seasoning sprinkled on top. Service: 2/5 - for a place being pretty much empty, you would've expected things to be quick. Not sure if short on staff but took us nearly 40min to get our food. Two couples received their meals before us after seating after us. Honestly did not have great vibes at all. Ambiance: 2/5 - inside itself was fine, cool things hung up and sports bar vibe but just felt lifeless inside. Hard to describe but you can feel it. Overall: 1/5 - despite the 2s, just can't help but give it a 1. Was fine the first time, definitely not returning back after second time. Not to mention tried to get into this place one other time besides the first time but there was nobody to seat us so we just walked in and walked right out. Excellent job!! We sat at the bar for lunch and the Executive Chef greeted us and engaged us in conversation about the menu! Nothing better than knowing the source! A++++ on sourcing local fresh products and engaging customers! Way to show you are passionate and dedicated to providing the best experience! We had fried olives, quite good and unique! Served in a Martini glass with some dipping sauce. A must try! A great accompaniment to one of their craft martinis! It also has horse radish dipping sauce on the side! Mmmmm! It had caramelized onions beautifully sliced slow cooked flavorful rib eye! All the right flavors! Probably one of the best French Dips around! Oh I gotta mention the thick crinkle cut chips! So many places fumble by putting just any commercially available fries or starch on the side of the plate. No fumbles at Magnolias! Seems they hand cut thick crinkle cut chips and fried them perfectly so the outside was crisp and the thick inside was soft and tender! Perfect!!! My Martini was a "Caprese Martini". Mozzarella fat washed, with mild olive oil and Basil flavors. Made right in front of us! Served chilled! Garnished with fresh mozzarella, basil, and tomato! Um perfect! Oh, forgot to mention, they have a super price fix lunch menu! Hard to beat! We will return again and again! After this experience, Magnolias is now on our list as one of our favorite South Shore spots! Cant wait to return! Highly recommended! Great Martinis! Fabulous eclectic tapas style menu!
