(I'm assuming the grub came from the trattoria above us.) Lots of flavor, a few entrée options to pick from (made ahead of time) to appease any preferences or dietary restrictions. My only issue was whoever was working the salad station was entirely too heavy-handed with the sliced radishes. Ease up on those next time, partner. The show: exactly what you probably expect/fear/need/want - equal parts goofy and interesting, ridiculous and intriguing. It's well thought out, constructed and paced. (We were 'warned' from the start - how much 'we' put into it is what we'd be getting back out and that's legit... some people were completely "in it" and you could tell they loved every second of the adventure, whereas my in-laws started to fade after about 90 minutes.) I should fess up I was positive my "thinking outside of the box" was going to snag me the win but I completely flubbed and it's safe to assume my final guess was the WORST one of the night. (Some advice: pay attention to ALL the clues. Don't try to be too damn clever or it'll bite you in the rump!) The three hours went by smoothly... lots of laughs, lots of interacting with the other diners (suspects!) as well as the actors and before you knew it - crimes were being solved, tabs were being closed and it was time to head back into the cruel streets of the city that never sleeps. Biggest issue (aside from the radishes!) - parking, of course. (A few blocks away was the only option and that added another $50+ to an already expensive night.) We were a party of seven (which is how many were seated per table) and I think we would've had an even better time had we been split up or went as a smaller group (so we could mix-and-match with other people, including the performers). Most definitely worth checking out if you're out for some fun that can appease (older) teens to their grandparents.

Given how expensive the tickets are, this is not what I was expecting from a Manhattan production and extremely unfair to the audience. We parked in the Omni garage and did have to ask the hotel front desk exactly where we had to go. Beautiful and tasteful hotel. We were there early as instructed ( the show was to start promptly at 6p.m.) and while you should arrive on time, there is really no need to arrive 15-20 mins early (as suggested) as our host didn't announce himself till after 6pm and seating is already assigned by table so there was just a lot of confusion and standing around. Upon entering and registering, you write your code name on a tag you wear all night. It was funny to see some of the names and hear the back/cover stories. Great way to get to know people and also start thinking who might just be lying. Clever. The tables were set and salad was already at the tables when we were let into the room. The place holds about 100 people. The beverage line was never long and prices were not too outrageous, however it was a cash only bar. Keep that in mind. People settled in and began to eat and socialize. We were all provided a sheet to write stuff down that might point to a later clue or suspect. The cast members--some at each table-- were all great and I did admire the actors for their quick wit, humor, and ability to improvise. The audience's energy and participation really made the show better, so don't be shy. The appetizers were fine, the 3 course meal was pretty good ( salad was super, chicken dish ok, and the cheesecake was very good) and served and eaten in between acts. The waitstaff did a great job clearing dishes and refilling water glasses. The bathrooms were super clean. It was a fun and entertaining night which we enjoyed. We met some wonderful folks and had lots of laughs. I would recommend going with a group of 4 or more if you can. You can request someone (without them knowing) to be a "suspect" when you book your tickets online. To witness that was hilarious. Parking for over 3 hours was just a bit over $10 on this nite.

We started off the day with the power going out. There was uncertainty about what was going on with our wedding, but of course the show must go on. Luckily they had a battery operated sound system that allowed us to be able to speak on the mics during the ceremony. It saved the ceremony, for sure. The power went on right after we kissed (awww). The show was fantastic after that. They kept everyone upbeat. They were funny, and great, and I loved every minute of it. I would hire this company again in a heartbeat. The way they handled disaster was amazing. Jon kept my husband (!!) on the positive side during panic. Everybody raved about how great they were and how much fun they had. I knew that they would be awesome, but their help with this crazy situation helped to save our wedding. Can't wait to attend more shows! Eventually we'll solve it, I promise!

Tonights was out in Patchogue, LI at a bar restaurant called OFF KEY TIKKI. The food though they tried, wasn't good. I believe one of the meat dishes might have been bad and I stuck with the turkey. When you go to these events, the food is usually standardly basic and its the show you are really there for. Bar drinks and desserts were not incorporated in the 60. dollar plus added gratuity to the total, paid before entering. This murder mystery was a bit uhh quirky. One note is to, be there on time. I was under the impression that it was food from 7:30 - 8:00 pm and then the performance murder mystery. Just at 8:00 I walked in and already had missed the gun shooting of the lead victim. The young lady playing the cop, went right along in roll and questioned me as to why I was late and where I was a short time ago. The police officer she was portraying had clothing not up to snuff with black sneakers. The overall acting could have used tweaking. But as it is for entertainment, I went along and got into it asking people around me all kinds of questions. There was a scene of someones head but it was not made clear to the audience quite how that fit in. However Jon Avner artistic director and founder of the company, who writes and customizes the stories to fit the request and need of the people who higher his company, actually was pretty funny and acted well in the part with the interaction of the audience participants. Some of them were pretty funny too. Near the end of the performance the audience and suspects are given a paper form to fill out along with a pencil that reads Murder? 1-888 shoot em and asking to write, basically, Who done it and why. Then the chosen best audience actors get a few gifts and the person who comes closest to the correct-who done it gets a shirt and some other goodies, this time including some handcuffs. Again, all in good fun. Ok, so I was the one who logically wrote that it was the Lieutenant. It wasn't. But I choose not to say more to prevent any spoiler alert. As for the place, while the people there were nice and it is a local bar and not one I would likely frequent, 3 stars is about it for their rating.

We opted for the inn side rather than the deck side, because the inn side has more entree options. We each opted for our own appetizers. Caprese salad, clam chowder and shrimp cocktail were ordered. Everyone enjoyed their appetizers very much. I had the clam chowder. It was rich, creamy and delicious. The clams were very tender and the chowder was loaded with clams and potatoes. For entrees, most of us opted for the hot lobster roll. It was overflowing with lobster and was accompanied by drawn butter, crisp fresh fries and a very tasty coleslaw. One of my friend opted for the sea bass. The presentation was beautiful and she said it was fresh, light and delicious. All of our cocktails were excellent too. I also must be sure to give credit to the wait staff. They were very attentive and I felt comfortable the entire time, as they were following all the guidance provided by the state. We were served a three course meal before the actual aerobics show happened, but they still had performers perform while we had our meals or a few drinks. I enjoyed their Crescent Dip, which is a hummus dip with whipped feta and comes with a massive chip. The Full Moon Rice I wasn't really a fan of. After those two, they came out with the entree, which they called Fire, Water, Earth; essentially beet, halibut, and short rib. These were alright, not amazing.
