Had lunch at Hearthfire today. My husband ordered a Wagyu Tenderloin meal. On the menu, you get a Wagyu Sirloin but the server said he could get a Tenderloin. When he got his meal, the steak was way overcooked. He asked for medium rare but got almost well done. And it was by far the toughest piece of meat he's ever eaten. Now we're not big on sending food back ..... not sure what they might do to it ..... but what a big mistake that was. His lunch was $37 !!!!! And for the worst steak he's ever eaten. The server was aware that it was way overcooked so I think the least he could've done was give us a discount on the meal. That didn't happen. Think we will stick to Happy Hour in the Bar and order off the appetizer menu. read more

I love this place and I would rather go here then the classic Anthony's for dinner. I've only ever had dinner here and it's both great service and great food. My husband and I just went last week and as always we had good service and good food. For desert we had the jar pie. I did not fully understand what we were getting until it arrived. It's literally pie served in small mason jar. IT WAS SO GOOD! I got coconut and I was scarfing it up and wished there was little more. I thought the serving was tiny and I would pay for a size up on the mason jar for more pie. All said and done I will continue to give them my business. Classic Anthony's is nice but this a more hip young people location. read more

Their food is not bad and their restaurant location is awesome, but they are the only nice large restaurant in town. There are a view small nice restaurants, but this is the closest place you get to something like a Cheesecake factory or something like that. MY biggest issue is the service; they are always busy but every time I have gone, I have felt that I spent more time waiting for the waiter then actually enjoying myself. Tonight my husband and I decided to go here for dinner. Thinking it would be as good as it ALWAYS was.... To start off we waited so LONG just to order a drink. After 15 mins. of waiting Kailey/Kelsey... not sure what the waiters name is but she got our orders for the drinks, which my husband and I both ordered Shirley temples. Waiting for another 15 mins. JUST TO GET OUR DRINKS. To finally get them and realize there is a piece of green plato like material in my drink. My husband and I both agreed that we were not going to take any risk and to cancel our food order as well as soon as possible. Our waitress was NOWHERE TO BE FOUND. So my husband got out of his seat and approach one of the ladies at the front of the restaurant to let her what was going on and we wanted to let our server know. Well the lady in the front was trying to convince him that it was a mint leaf... clearly it was not. Finally our server came over to us after being informed of what happened. She just said she'd get me a NEW drink. Keep in mind she NEVER apologized. She ran off as quickly as possible with the drink. My husband got her attention again and let her know we wanted to just be done and cancel our food. She smirked and said, "what?", trying to question us. Then ran off and told the cooks, "cancel the chicken for two because the ""KIDS DONT WANT IT ANYMORE."" I'm sorry but we are both 21 years old and it was the worst customer service we've ever gotten. We live in Olympia and supposably this is one of the BEST QUALITY RESTAURANTS around here. We both disagree, it is UNCLEAN. It was very unprofessional, embarrassing as she was screaming to the cooks about cancelling our order and calling us kids. The whole restaurant stopped for a minute. Terrible people, service, and racist. I am posting here on behalf of my parents, because they wanted me to express how upsetting it was to be racially discriminated against on a day they were supposed to be celebrating their friend's birthday. My mother just called me crying about her experience at Hearthfire tonight. My parents have experienced many forms of discrimination before and it takes a lot to upset them; however, at a restaurant they have been going to for over 8 years, the kind of behavior my parents experienced tonight from the staff--especially, the hostess, Maya and the manager--was rude, unprofessional, and unacceptable. My mother made a reservation for 6pm, and when my parent's entire party arrived at 5:30pm the restaurant was practically empty. My parents let Maya know they arrived and waited until groups before them were seated. However, after those parties were seated, 4 different parties of similar size walked in without a reservation and were seated before my parents. They waited 20 more minutes to ask Maya again about the reservation, and she told them they would have to wait until their reservation at 6pm and then proceeded roll her eyes and smirk at them. To allow walk ins, of the same party size, to get a seat before patrons with reservations at an almost empty restaurant, and then to proceed to answer their questions with attitude can only be taken as discrimination and racial profiling. Maya and the manager, who had nothing better to say than the same excuse, ruined the evening for my parent's friend's birthday. Just as a cherry on top, they never apologized for any of their behavior. Safe to say my parents left the restaurant, and they will never be returning. As a child who got a phone call from a very upset mother, as someone of a different race than everyone else in the restaurant today, and as someone who worked in the service industry, I find the behavior from the Hearthfire staff today repulsive and extremely inappropriate. I personally will never be eating there again, and I encourage anyone who feels as strongly as I do about treating people with respect to reconsider your choice to dine at this establishment. read more

Every time I go here, the servers tell me something different than the last server. "Yes we have a gluten free option" and the next time there's "no we have never had that gluten free option". Great place for drinks and appetizers or a big dinner. Not a huge menu, but what they do they do well. The crab dip is excellent. The pork chop it top notch (when they have it) and the seasonal berries add a great northwest flare to drinks and dinners alike. The wait staff are friendly and efficient. Did I mention the view? I delayed in writing this because it was such an awesome night with aspects of which would not be repeated for everyone. We went there to celebrate our anniversary (29th!) and let a friend of ours who is a server there know that we were coming. We went on a Sunday night, two weeks ago and just had the most amazing experience! Our server did not happen to be my buddy Josh but she was awesome in the whole experience even though I'm sure she felt somewhat like a third wheel (it should go without saying that she was tipped accordingly). As it turned out there was a Barbershop Quartet dining @ Anthony's that night and my buddy set it up with them that when we got settled at out table they came over and sang the old classic "If I Fall in Love" (made refamous by Celine Dion in "Sleepless in Seattle") acappela all the way through. The restaurant sprang for our dessert ( I had the bread pudding and my wife had the molten chocolate cake both served ala mode) and Sundays are Surf and Turf Special nights with ton's of specials combining fish and beef for only $17.95. I had the Ahi with wasabi sauce and tenderloin strips and my wife had the halibut cheeks with top sirloin, both were awesome! My Ahi was perfectly seared on the outside while being rare on the inside, the sirloins strips were a tad salty but served with a sause that cut it nicely. My wife said her halibut cheeks were perfect and took the steak home to my son who said it was the best he had ever had. Both were served with a vegetable side that were still nice and crunchy. As always the garlic flatbread was to perfection. We had a great night at really bargain prices! This is the third time I have been at Anthony's Hearthside and each time has been an awesome experience. The Sirloin Strips and Panko coated portabella mushroom Tower is awesome! I took a couple of guys from work there last summer and they both agreed that it was the BEST meal they had ever had without exageration. I know not everyone will have the experience that my wife and I had but Anthony's consistently has proven itself par excellence! read more

Yum! Called at 4 for a 5:30 pm reservation, and was seated immediately on the quieter (no kids!) side of the restaurant. Ordered off the early dinner menu for $19.95/person and we both adored our entrees (fish and steak), sides (cranberry rice pilaf, cornbread bake), bread side (well seasoned), and mini deserts (mousse and coconut pudding). A lovely view and experience, thanks to our attentive waiter. Prices are high unless you do an early dinner, so get there early and plan ahead with a reservation! read more

I went to this restaurant for the first time recently, and I loved it. The view is so spectacular, I would go here if the food was terrible. The food is actually really good, and there is great selection of seafood, pasta dishes, and meat. We had happy hour appetizers and drinks, which were a really good price. Outstanding experience! I had the steak and prawns, my wife had the halibut. Both were excellent, well prepared and timely. The steak and prawns had excellent spice, the halibut had the best herb butter. Our service from Jasmine was wonderful, the manager Mike Martyn came by to check on us and was extremely knowledgable, helpful, and friendly. We have been spending every February 27 here since we first met for dinner on a blind date five years ago. In the past, it's been mostly, good, though sometimes the service is a little slow, or the food may not have been fantastic. (Why I only gave 4 stars). Last Saturday night, however, everything was excellent. Our waiter, Cory, was attentive, but not pushy. The crab appetizer was delicious. The wedge salads were great, my boyfriend's steak was fantastic, and my rotisserie chicken was awesome. The asparagus was cooked perfectly, and the rice pilaf with craisins and pistachios is always a favorite. We stayed for over two hours, enjoying our meal, the view, each other, and the Boomtown Syrah. Even though it was very crowded, we barely noticed. It was a wonderful night. Good food. But the service was pretty bad on a weekday lunch. Short-staffed. The waiter forgot our drink and she forgot warm water that my wife asked for. It took 30 minutes for the food to arrive. The best part about my experience was the view and the flat bread. We ordered an appetizer of chicken wings and noticed that they were not cooked thoroughly..... bloody!! For the main dish I ordered the early dinner and selected the St Louis ribs as my entree.....not very good and tasted old, my dogs enjoyed them though!! I don't remember the staff very well, nothing stands out as exceptional or awful. It seemed pretty obvious the goal was to be focused on getting us in and out of there as possible.
