The food was great, the atmosphere had a notable problem. I ordered the #1 seafood combo. The crab was amazing, the meat melted in my mouth and had great flavor. The shrimp was good, through the seasoning was inconsistent despite my best efforts. I ordered the spiciest option, and the shrimp was the only part I got the spice from. Sometimes I'm there was no heat, other times it felt like it was trying to kill me. My biggest gripe with the food was the lack of potatoes. Why get stingy with potatoes? There were only 2 in the boil I got. It was a generous amount of food overall, but I feel like potatoes are the weirdest part to skimp out on. The restaurant looked nice and had good lighting. My biggest complaint overall was the choice of music. Objectively, it was not appropriate for a family joint. It was Kanye West, Childish Gambino, Tyler the Creator, and other similar artists. The songs were explicit, and there were many families with children in the restaurant. I've held off reviewing this restaurant because I wanted to wait for the new appeal to die down. I'm very glad I did! I came in with my husband and we were immediately seated. The decor is very similar to what it was with a splash of sea decor. They had some summer specials so we opted for one. We asked for the Cajun seasoning and I wanted extra spicy but the waiter thought spicy was enough. Get. The. Extra. Spicy. I like to feel the spice inflammation and where the food is in my gi system. I wanted to sweat. I had maybe a slightly sweaty upper lip but that was it. Wear all black. The sauce gets EVERYWHERE. All in all, it was good but everything was slightly over cooked for my liking. It comes in the large steamy bag I'm used to at restaurants but it's definitely not like my house where the pot gets poured out on the table. The food was good for the area. The batter for the fried foods was just right (crunchy, not over or under seasoned). The boiled seafood was good. The fries were even good. I say this BC I find it strange that we're surrounded by ocean and lakes but good seafood restaurants are somehow hard to find. The waitresses were attentive and pleasant. I think the menu items are a little bit pricey for what you get but I guess they know people don't have many options. The restrooms and guest table areas were clean. The background music was not offensive and was appropriate for the general public. Worse seafood boil ever. I am pescatarian and i love me a good boil. This place over cooks the seafood, super rubbery. I ordered a pound of snow crab and crawfish. I'm pretty sure they skimp on the seafood because when i opened the bag, there were maybe 10 crawfish and it was soooo small. And a cluster in a half of snow crab. The whole thing was COVERED in the seasoning and it was so salty, i had to wash some of it off. Very very disappointing. Very pricey as well. Wont be back. read more

Coming from texas I know that crawfish won't compare but I had to show my kid what a frozen crawfish taste like. Its sadness and tears. I've been looking for a place to get quality seafood and I finally found it. Didn't even realize it was there but now that I found it wow their food is delicious. I've been there six times now and I've never been disappointed. My favorite is the lobster and shrimp boil that I've had other things there as well just as delicious. Great new option for our community. Took my family to enjoy a good crab boil. I got the Cajun seasoning and it did not disappoint. The servers were energetic and attentive. Someone three tables down dropped their soda and within minutes the table was reset, floor mopped, and diner resuming their meal. The place was super clean and fun. I included some photos of the walls. While waiting for the meal my family drew on the paper table covers. Just in general a fun time. Glad we went. I'll be back to try the other options. read more

Service was excellent although I only had a frozen drink. It was delicious! But I looked at the menu and the next time I am in the area I will be sitting down for a boiled dinner. I had already had lunch so didn't order food. The hostess was my server and she was happy to answer all my questions. What also impressed me was youn man talking orders. He asked all the right questions that I would never have thought of and was very helpful in answering questions. There isn't a cocktail lounge, but they have a full drink menu. The catfish basket portion is amazing. Only thing that could make this meal a little better is real tartar sauce and a slice of lemon.

My parents and I went here tonight after a bad experience at another restaurant in the same evening. A complete 180 from what we had experienced. First when we walked in the hostess recognized my mother from when they came in a couple of weeks ago. That is a delight that we had mentioned that. The first time my parents came in they both had gotten the fried food baskets. This time my mother followed my example and got a boil bag. I picked the crawfish boil and my mom went with the clam boil. Both of us got the 1 lb option so that we could have corn and potatoes. This was my mother's first boil bag and to say she was exhilarated is an understatement. The server, Tate, was excellent and on top everything. Including when my slippery hands caused a spill of my Dr. Pepper. My mother thought it was a lil salty so we asked Tate what to order next time and he gave us some really good suggestions. Ive been to Yummy Crab about 5 times over the past year and 1/2. Each time, the food at Yummy Crab was good and all was eaten. That said, it's definitely on the pricey side for what you get. This review is taking into account my last visit balance out with the past 5 visits. Last visit was unfortunately disappointing in the customer care category. Inappropriate, profane and hateful music, dismissive response from staff, poor service, and even the mislabeled bathroom faucets, the overall experience just doesn't feel worth it any more. Next time a crab craving hits, it feels like boiling crab at home will be a better option than returning here. It's really hard to spend so much and leave feeling dismissed. read more

This review is for takeout; we did not dine in. Pros: Food met expectations out of the 6 restaurants of this style I have visited. Snow crab was tasty and sweet. The shrimp, green mussels, and clams were also good. The seasonings were flavorful and the medium spicy bag had a good level of heat. Things were packed well and still hot after the 15 minute drive home. Cons: The garlic butter and bay seasoned bag, while probably our favorite, had some clusters of overwhelming saltiness. The black mussels were mostly fair, but had a couple that weren't good at all. The mixed seasoning bag had most of the flavor stuck to the crab shell and had to be shaken up to get any flavor into the butter/oil and the lemon / pepper didn't come through at all. Neutral: We had the okra app too; I'm pretty sure there is only one distributor for fried okra in the US. The only difference is how long restaurants leave it in the fryer. It was fine. Overall, if you know what to expect, it should be a pretty good meal. We will be going back. read more

Don't do it! Waitress could not get order correct even after several attempts, but it's okay she blamed it on the system and cooks. The crab was wayyy over cooked almost as overcooked as it was over priced. The garlic bread is Frozen Texas toast. Really??? When we brought it to their attention they started recording us on their cameras, like we were the bad guys! We didn't ask for anything except what we ordered, and then settled for what we got. my husband and I ordered the catfish basket. my husband had the fries with his catfish and I had substituted corn and potato for my fries. The catfish we had was kind of bland. It definitely was missing some spice and seasonings. We weren't asked if we wanted any seasonings on our catfish. I also ordered a Long Island iced tea which was horribly made. The waitress told me she wasn't surprised. They didn't have a bartender who was of age to make the drinks so I assume the manager made it and she didn't know how. I complained to the waitress, but there was no offer to substitute my drink or to take it off the bill. My corn and potato were cold. The place was nice inside for a new establishment. But I am not sure we are going to go back unless they have a really good deal. At least I know of another place that serves great catfish. So I am not going to miss this place. read more

I believe the server was new to serving as she hadn't yes learned to show calmness under pressure. She did a good job bringing us what we requested. We had to remind her one person requested no ice in her water. The food was good the seafood was hot and not overcooked. The taste and texture were fine. I just moved from Spokane to Lacey and was very excited to try this restaurant. The decor is very welcoming and very clean. We order some clam chowder to start and some Fish basket. I also order fried oysters. With my disappointments the clam chowder was so watery and not even hot. Very tasteless watered cream. Normally a good clam chowder is thick and serve hot.
