Most of these glowing reviews are old--thanks, covid--but rest assured, they've still got it. After four years of homecutting (that's the haircut equivalent of homeschooling, right?) I finally headed back into the world for a professional cut. And style, and shape, and general pilar resurrection. No issues with timing. Texting Tina got me an appointment the next day. I showed up a few minutes late but she still saw me right away. The cut seemed to take no time at all. But she didn't cut corners to trim the time; she did a *fantastic* job. Even better than my hair was in the Before Times. I'm definitely going back. I might even hit up Ed for some beard work. Before, I was considering getting my hair done right once or twice a year, then going back to homecutting in between...but to look and feel this good for under $40? There's no going back. read more

Appointment only (I honestly can't imagine a scenario where I'd do a walk-in, I don't have a life where I can wait some unknowable amount of time for a haircut) and not cheap but totally worth it of you want not only a great hair cut but also the type of barber shop experience that leaves you feeling so good the rest of your day seems to go smoothly. If you just want your hair cut quickly go somewhere else, if you want to feel like you're spending quality time with a caring friend, go to Anthony's. read more

I've gotten my hair cut by Ed the past few months and he is incredible! He takes his time to make sure that you're happy with the end result. I've also received lots of compliments on my hair after getting it cut from this location. Everyone here is friendly as well - makes getting your hair cut an enjoyable experience rather than feeling like a chore! read more

I will say that these guys do a good job cutting hair... that is when they get to it. We walked in with three people in line ahead of us... and proceeded to wait two hours. Literally not joking, got there at 1:30, and walked out at 3:30 without a haircut. The owner and person working there took their time talking with their kid, random people popping in to say hi, even taking 30 mins while people were waiting to go get food. I understand that this is a small business, but it's unprofessional and rude to the customer. If they were working the entire time, fine, but these guys weren't. A good haircut is not worth that sort of wait. read more

I've gotten my hair cut here quite a few times now, by all three barbers. I've never had a bad haircut and everyone is always so friendly. Will definitely keep going back to a small business that cares about its customers. read more

Great customer service and great cut. After my last selection of Fast Phils, my wife wanted to go with me and make sure things turned out ok. There was no wait when I got there but Anthony was in the back. He poked his head out and said he would be right with me. He came out shortly and asked me what I was looking for. We settled on a cut and away he went. He talked quite a bit while he cut but was very attentive to the cut. He was done in about 20 minutes and the cut was great, so my wife said. For $18 you get a very good cut, great service, and while it is notfast it isquick enough read more

Anthony's Barber Styling has something wonderful going for it: The recommendation of its peers. I know this because I was led to Anthony's by the people at a women's salon in Arlington, who said Anthony's was their choice for men. This is a good place. No appointments or reservations. You wait in comfortable seating inside or at a friendly sidewalk table outside. Anthony and his colleague, Joshua, ask what you want in a haircut and they work hard to carry out your wishes. Joshua went the extra mile to trim my beard, too. Best of all: The price is right. My haircut and beard trim was $18. I added 20% as a tip to Joshua, so the total came to $21.60. No credit cards accepted. Cash and local checks only. Why five stars? Well, because my partner at home said she liked the haircut. I like that reaction from her. Thanks, Anthony's! read more

By far the best haircut in Arlington. I've been going here since 2002 and every time I try another shop I regret it. They are far and away the highest quality and at a great value. I'm Italian with thick curly hair and nobody can give me a cut like Anthony and Tina. Ed is a newer addition who is also excellent and has an outstanding personality. These three are by far the best around! read more

I had a great experience at Anthony's. Everyone was friendly from the moment I walked in the door. I came in around noon on a Saturday and only had a short wait to see a barber (first time there so I can't say whether this is normal or not for walk-ins). I saw Ed for my cut. I wanted to change up my style a bit, and had an idea of what I wanted, but needed some advice on what would look best. Ed was great at showing me what would work with my hair and making helpful suggestions. He clearly knows what he's doing and gave me a careful cut that turned out great. He also made it enjoyable with friendly, funny conversation. The new style looks as good as I hoped! Before leaving, Ed gave me some tips on styling it and recommended products (not stuff they sell there). I was pleasantly surprised that the price was similar to other neighborhood barbershops around here (definitely left a tip for the great service). read more

The first time Anthony cut my hair my girlfriend said it was too short. Since he was a really nice guy I figured he deserved a second chance. That was the best decision I made. He listened to my criticism and took his time to get it just the way I wanted. Passed the girlfriend test with flying colors! So I finally have a new barber in a great, convenient location, it's never too busy late afternoon, and guaranteed to keep the conversation going...and going..and going (unless you tell him your girlfriend's waiting). Anthony's also a musician so expect to discuss topics like guitars, song writing, dating, family, travel, life, etc etc. read more

Just go here. Especially if it's ludicrously out of your way and it takes you an hour (or more) to drive there, as I did for about 5 years straight. They take FOREVER cutting your hair and it is AWESOME. This place actually conditioned me to think those fancy salons that shoot you out in 20 minutes are a rip off. read more

Anthony's Barbershop is a small local shop right on Mass Ave in East Arlington. It is a 3 chair shop, owned and operated by the namesake - Anthony. He is a younger, friendly guy who loves to chat during his hair cuts. He is truly a funny guy and will tell great stories or even play the guitar for you (if you are lucky). The haircuts themselves are generally good and consistent (which is very important for me). The two complaints that I have are the long wait times. I've waited upwards of an hour before. Even though there are 3 chairs, there is typically 1-2 hair dressers there at a time. Additionally, the cuts themselves are about 45 mins to an hour. I believe there are definitely people out there who enjoy this type of experience, but it is simply not for me. I prefer a quality, 30 minute hair cut simply because that works best with my busy schedule. I've gone back to Anthony's several times despite the comments above, so he must be doing something right! read more

I have been going to this place since I moved to Boston beginning of last year from MO. The best haircut I have ever got since I have been in U.S for 5 years now. Honestly speaking the haircut I have got in the past in MO was soo pathetic wherever I went and I had a mind set up that people don't really know to do a haircut here or something? BUT after moving to Boston I found this place and since than I can say here is somebody who really knows how to do a master cut. Every1 is soo friendly here and you wont even mind spending hours at this place. I personally get my hair done from TINA and yeah she is great!! CONCLUSION: Awesome customer service and a great hair cut!! read more

Anthony is a great barber. He takes his time and cuts your hair exactly the way you want it. You'll get salon treatment at barber prices. read more

This place was great. I'm new to Arlington so I have been looking around at new barbershops and so far they have all been let downs. Anthony's is definitely not a 'typical' barber shop but you can tell that they care about what you want, take their time and also get to know you so your experience there is great. I got my hair done by Anthony's sister and she made sure to stop half way through and check how I was liking everything and paid attention to what I wanted which so far I had not come across here. Though I miss my normal barber, he is now two hours away so finding a great substitute only 15 min away was exciting. read more

Come here a couple of times, I've been extremely satisfied. Friendly service with a great sense of community, especially as other customers come in. I like the vibe here because I feel comfortable and welcome. Will go here again for my next hair cut. read more

Great cuts and very friendly people. I wouldn't go to Anthony's if I were in a hurry though, there's frequently a bit of a wait and the cuts aren't the fastest in town. Definitely worth the wait though if you have the time. read more

Love this place. They give a really great cut. No stray hairs. Wait can be a wild card but lately I have found a good time to get in pretty easily. It is walk-in only for the time being and also cash only. There's a BOA right across the street though if you need it. read more

I like them, they cut a nice head of hair, but they are immensely slow. It's insufferable sometimes. Call ahead to see what the wait is, figure each person will take 40 minutes, maybe more. It's mind boggling read more

My son gets his hair cut by Ed at Anthony's and he always receives a great cut! Definitely recommend!

I've been having Anthony cut my hair for the past 10 years. I've lived in Arlington, Newton and now Lexington. I keep coming back because Anthony spends the time to get my hair right. He is also a great person and always remembers my name. I feel I am visiting a friend. read more

This is the best barbershop in Arlington and possibly the best barbershop I've ever been too. They give a great cut and their prices are reasonable. I usually see Tina for my cut. I wish I could make it here more often than I do. No appointments, walk in only. read more

Anthony's is a great barbershop located in East Arlington, on Mass. Ave. First, the Greek decor is one of a kind. You walk in and there are columns and statues. I wouldn't expect anything less from the local greek barber. Second, it is a family run business. Anthony and all of his barber's make you feel like you are part of the family. Finally, the haircuts are all great. I know because my boyfriend always comes home with a consistent do! We have referred people here and even though we don't come as often, they remember us. My boyfriend pays about 25 bucks for a haircut, i believe. read more

My favorite hair stylists in Arlington. Very warm, friendly, professional service, without being obtrusive. Anthony's has a relaxing environment - no drama or chaos like in some other places I've checked out in the past. They listen to your requests and give you the haircut you ask for, which has not always been my experience before I came here. Reasonably priced, too. What more can you ask for? read more

I'm not a guy, but Im a stylist and Anthony taught me everything I know about barber styling.I stood behind him for a solid 9 months and he is the truth. He may take a little longer than most people but let me tell you it's worth the trip.He is a great barber and an amazing friend I have gotten to see him fof the last 9 years of my life and hes no joke, try him out :o)......matter of fact he gave me a pretty decent haircut back in the day lol. read more

Anthony's is solid. Yes, you might wait a bit to get into a chair, but that's because they take their time with each customer. Michelle was great, not only listening to how I wanted my cut, but also taking the time to clean up around the edges, so to speak. The place is family friendly, too - there were multiple dads there with their sons and the staff made everyone feel welcome. read more

Tony, and both girls are awesome. I had my haircut done there for the last 3-4 years. I actually preferred Annie because she would never forget to trim my eyebrows. But they all are great. read more

Just got back from getting my hair cut. Been going to Anthony for years. Does the same good job every time. Nice friendly atmosphere and very pleasant people. I get your basic haircut but they do all types. I've seen women getting haicuts here too. Yes, they do take the time to get you hair hair cut untill your completely satisfied. read more

I've been coming for years. Anthony givee a great haircut, and the place has a great atmosphere.

My husband told me about Anthony's. I guess he used to go there all the time. I brought my 2 girls there, ages 3 and 4. Anthony cut my 4-year old daughter's hair, which is long and wavy. He listened to what I wanted and did a great job. He cut a couple if inches of her hair and did some layers and angles. Her hair looks amazing, full and styled. Antony was super nice and talked to all of the customers waiting for haircuts, he even showed pictures of his daughter to my daughter. She is generally shy of people she doesn't know, especially men. I don't remember the name of the girl who cut my other daughter's hair but she did a great job as well and let my daughter sit in my lap during the haircut. The place is is very laid back and we felt welcome. We would definitely go again. Thank you for the great haircuts. read more

I've lived a 5 minute walk down the street from this place for 6 years and I can't believe that I just started going last year. The first time that I went I think I was there for a little over 2 hours but I didn't mind at all because the conversation, people were so interesting that the time flew by. The haircut that I have received both times was fantastic and I can't wait to go back!!! read more

Anthony and Tina are the best! Great haircuts and a very friendly atmosphere. I've moved out of East Arlington but I keep coming back here.

Terrific! Walked in at around 11:30, waited 10 minutes and was lucky enough to be chosen by Annie (an absolutely gorgeous master of her craft). Both she and Anthony were engaging and friendly and I got one of my better hair cuts. Recommend to anyone! read more

The best haircuts happen at Anthony's. Annie, Tina or Anthony- you won't go wrong with whoever is available. Talkative yet very attentive to their craft. Skilled stylists. If you live nearby and are not in a hurry, check this place out...once you experience the quality and price, it's unlikely you'll bother going anywhere else. Just chill out, bring your iPhone or book, and be patient- it's worth the wait if there is one. read more

Recommended by a friend, Anthony's met all expectations. Frank is a master: listens to requests and follows through, is neat, fast and accurate. No frills, no designer jobs, but a wonderful down to earth haircut. Reaches that point that most want -- after the haircut not looking like you've just had a haircut. The way it should be. read more

Anthony's is your quintessential old-style barber shop. As long as you're not expecting a single-edge razor shave (or are in a huge rush), this is the place to go. Anthony, his sister Tina, and Annie all give phenomenal haircuts for a mere $18. Great relaxed atmosphere as well. While I am of the few who lives walking distance from this shop, I know there are others who come from up to an hour away, and for good reason. A resounding 5 stars (from someone who doesn't give those often.) read more

My favorite barber--bar-none. Anthony and crew give the best haircuts around, make you feel welcome in their place. Often a wait, but it's well worth it. read more

Tina and Anthony run the shop. They are very friendly and have a lot of regulars. They spend a sufficient amount of time with each customer to produce satisfactory results and a good haircut. Have tried many barbers in the area but keep coming back here...even though I recently moved to Maine...
