I will say that these guys do a good job cutting hair... that is when they get to it. We walked in with three people in line ahead of us... and proceeded to wait two hours. Literally not joking, got there at 1:30, and walked out at 3:30 without a haircut. The owner and person working there took their time talking with their kid, random people popping in to say hi, even taking 30 mins while people were waiting to go get food. I understand that this is a small business, but it's unprofessional and rude to the customer. If they were working the entire time, fine, but these guys weren't. By far the best haircut in Arlington. I've been going here since 2002 and every time I try another shop I regret it. They are far and away the highest quality and at a great value. Great customer service and great cut. After my last selection of Fast Phils, my wife wanted to go with me and make sure things turned out ok. There was no wait when I got there but Anthony was in the back. He poked his head out and said he would be right with me. He came out shortly and asked me what I was looking for. I know this because I was led to Anthony's by the people at a women's salon in Arlington, who said Anthony's was their choice for men. This is a good place. No appointments or reservations. You wait in comfortable seating inside or at a friendly sidewalk table outside. Anthony and his colleague, Joshua, ask what you want in a haircut and they work hard to carry out your wishes. Joshua went the extra mile to trim my beard, too. Best of all: The price is right. My haircut and beard trim was $18. I added 20% as a tip to Joshua, so the total came to $21.60. I had a great experience at Anthony's. Everyone was friendly from the moment I walked in the door. I came in around noon on a Saturday and only had a short wait to see a barber (first time there so I can't say whether this is normal or not for walk-ins). I saw Ed for my cut. I wanted to change up my style a bit, and had an idea of what I wanted, but needed some advice on what would look best. Ed was great at showing me what would work with my hair and making helpful suggestions. He clearly knows what he's doing and gave me a careful cut that turned out great. He also made it enjoyable with friendly, funny conversation. The new style looks as good as I hoped! Before leaving, Ed gave me some tips on styling it and recommended products (not stuff they sell there). The first time Anthony cut my hair my girlfriend said it was too short. Since he was a really nice guy I figured he deserved a second chance. That was the best decision I made. He listened to my criticism and took his time to get it just the way I wanted. Passed the girlfriend test with flying colors! So I finally have a new barber in a great, convenient location, it's never too busy late afternoon, and guaranteed to keep the conversation going...and going..and going (unless you tell him your girlfriend's waiting). Anthony's Barbershop is a small local shop right on Mass Ave in East Arlington. It is a 3 chair shop, owned and operated by the namesake - Anthony. He is a younger, friendly guy who loves to chat during his hair cuts. He is truly a funny guy and will tell great stories or even play the guitar for you (if you are lucky). The haircuts themselves are generally good and consistent (which is very important for me). The two complaints that I have are the long wait times. I've waited upwards of an hour before. Even though there are 3 chairs, there is typically 1-2 hair dressers there at a time. Additionally, the cuts themselves are about 45 mins to an hour. I believe there are definitely people out there who enjoy this type of experience, but it is simply not for me. I prefer a quality, 30 minute hair cut simply because that works best with my busy schedule. I've gone back to Anthony's several times despite the comments above, so he must be doing something right! read more

I have been going to this place since I moved to Boston beginning of last year from MO. The best haircut I have ever got since I have been in U.S for 5 years now. Honestly speaking the haircut I have got in the past in MO was soo pathetic wherever I went and I had a mind set up that people don't really know to do a haircut here or something? BUT after moving to Boston I found this place and since than I can say here is somebody who really knows how to do a master cut. Every1 is soo friendly here and you wont even mind spending hours at this place. I personally get my hair done from TINA and yeah she is great!! This place was great. I'm new to Arlington so I have been looking around at new barbershops and so far they have all been let downs. Anthony's is definitely not a 'typical' barber shop but you can tell that they care about what you want, take their time and also get to know you so your experience there is great. I got my hair done by Anthony's sister and she made sure to stop half way through and check how I was liking everything and paid attention to what I wanted which so far I had not come across here. Though I miss my normal barber, he is now two hours away so finding a great substitute only 15 min away was exciting. read more

Anthony's is a great barbershop located in East Arlington, on Mass. Ave. First, the Greek decor is one of a kind. You walk in and there are columns and statues. I wouldn't expect anything less from the local greek barber. Second, it is a family run business. Anthony and all of his barber's make you feel like you are part of the family. Finally, the haircuts are all great. I know because my boyfriend always comes home with a consistent do! We have referred people here and even though we don't come as often, they remember us. My husband told me about Anthony's. I guess he used to go there all the time. I brought my 2 girls there, ages 3 and 4. Anthony cut my 4-year old daughter's hair, which is long and wavy. He listened to what I wanted and did a great job. He cut a couple if inches of her hair and did some layers and angles. Her hair looks amazing, full and styled. Antony was super nice and talked to all of the customers waiting for haircuts, he even showed pictures of his daughter to my daughter. She is generally shy of people she doesn't know, especially men. I don't remember the name of the girl who cut my other daughter's hair but she did a great job as well and let my daughter sit in my lap during the haircut.
