My husband went there for beard trimming and shaping. They did a great job! Definitely going there again.

The haircuts are average to below average, and most of the barbers are pretty chill to talk to, but there is no way in hell that any of the (4) haircuts that I have gotten here have been anywhere even close to being worth the ridiculously high prices that most of barbers here charge. $65 + tip...so $75+.....You'd have to be either a complete moron or a trust fund baby to pay these prices for a haircut. This place is more expensive than high end barbershops in Boston... If you want a typical fade, I would go literally anywhere else before going here. read more

The hair I was growing for more than 3 months is completely gone. Explained to the hairdresser I wanted to keep all the length on top and asked him to leave my sideburns and ALL of it is gone. There is also 4 lonely longer hairs hanging in the end of it. Can't possibly figure out how this can be considered "even". Besides the very front its a short haircut all over. Having to pay for something that far from what I asked and showed (yes, I showed a picture) is the same as going to a restaurant and paying for a meal that you didn't asked for. I was so shocked after realizing my sideburns were gone I just sat there actionless. The back of the hair is the only thing that looks ok. If you want to be surprised with something FAR from what you asked for go there. Otherwise go somewhere else. Im not ever going back. read more

I've been seeing Brian at The Barber's Den in Somerville for a few months now, and I've never been happier with my barber. He always does a great job with my hair and beard, and is a personable and friendly dude. Everybody else who works there makes me feel welcome and the banter and crosstalk they have between each other is hilarious. The shop is clean, well lit, and stylishly decorated in a way that's masculine without feeling like a sports bar or locker room. It's a bit on the pricier side from barbers I've gone to before, but I've found the atmosphere and quality of barber work to be worth the money, time and again. I just moved to Boston from Florida recently and wanted to find a good place to get my haircut; I typically always went to hair salons because that was the only environment in which my hair would turn out how I wanted. The standard barber shops never worked out for me. On the way to dinner I passed by the shop in Somerville and loved the aesthetic from what I could see from the outside. Already planning to make an appointment for a haircut, I decided I should look up the reviews and sure enough it was reviewed highly, lots of praise for their take on modern men's styles. I booked an appointment for a Saturday morning with Brian and got seated right at the appointment time. The ambience at the shop and the conversation were excellent. I wasn't watching myself throughout the entire cut so I was a bit nervous throughout the process but once I was turned towards the mirror I was super excited. It was cut just as I wanted it, I couldn't have asked for better. I recommend The Barber's Den in Somerville for any guy that wants a modern style, wants to experiment with any eccentric styles, or just wants to stick to basics. If you're looking for a haircut, this is the place to go. I originally found Evan through social media, I was intrigued by the fact that I could make an appointment and he had killer work posted on his Instagram page. I started seeing Evan at one of his other locations (Belmont, visited him in Melrose once as well). Due to a winter illness, I had to reschedule an appointment but was overdue for a haircut and went to Steve, I'm usually very apprehensive to try another service provider once I am satisfied with my current, but I had seen Steve's work also, and decided to make an appointment with him, and I e been going to him since (sorry Evan!). You truly cannot go wrong with any of the Barbers here. I drive over an hour and battle the woes of Somerville parking because these guys give a killer cut, my beard always looks good, and the convenience of the ability to make an appointment is worth the drive (Barbers in central mass really haven't caught onto the fact that appointments are convenient). Great job guys, the new location is dope. Update from my original review: due to my lack of proactivity, I had and appointment with Brian today, another barber, and other great cut, and another reason you should go to Barber's Den. You literally cannot get a bad haircut from any of the barbers here. read more

The barbers den was hands down one of the worst barber shops I have ever been to. I have gotten a better cut at Supercuts. Extremely disappointed. Evan cut my hair and I will NEVER be back. The most uneven fade I have ever received. His clippers also looked like they hadn't been cleaned in a long time, AND to top this awful experience off, he cut my neck which is now a STAFF infection. The stylish but inviting industrial vibe of the shop immediately caught my eye & inspired me to book a visit. As luck would have it, Evan (the owner) had availability the very next day. The website is sleek and made for a seamless experience while making an appointment. When I arrived, Evan greeted with a genuinely warm welcome and guided me to his chair. Looking around the interior, you would presume the place just opened it doors (despite being in operation for nearly a year, per Evan); each workstation is impeccably neat & clean, something I truly appreciate in a barbershop. Evan took the time to inquire about my previous hair styles & experiences prior to beginning. Throughout the cut, he made natural conversation without being overly intrusive or talkative. Afterwards, he showed me a full 360 degree view & offered possible adjustments (should I desire a slightly different look). Being somewhat carefree about my hair, I appreciated the input and suggestions (all of which were great). The few days following my cut, several friends and co-workers complemented me on the execution of the haircut. Evan is absolutely wonderful! I had been looking for somewhere to get my hair cut since the person I used to go to has since closed their business. While mindlessly scrolling online I came across an ad for The Barber's Den in Somerville. I decided to check out their website and they have a section where you can see the various styles done by their barbers at each of their 3 locations. Once I saw what they were capable of I was more than ready to schedule an appointment. Evan was my barber on Wednesday 11/24 and the word "satisfied" would not being to explain how I felt with the results. I've always had my hair on the longer side and I think it was a bit intimidating(?) at first but Evan asked me plenty of questions about what I was looking to have done and looked at some reference photos before suggesting a shorter style that I was down to try. I never thought I could pull off a short-hair look but not only do I love it, I've never had more compliments from people I do and do not know telling me how amazing it looks. I will DEFINITELY be coming back and also recommending anyone looking for a barber to check out The Barber's Den. These guys are doing it right! read more

After moving back to Boston, I searched for a barbershop that doesn't cut all your hair off or an expensive salon, so I took a chance on Barbers Den and haven't looked back.
