After nine years as a PetSmart grooming customer, I am finally taking my business elsewhere…read more I have used PetSmart grooming on and off for approximately nine years, and for the past year I have been a very consistent customer, bringing my Golden Retriever in every two weeks for a bath and brush, along with a full grooming service every couple of months. Unfortunately, over the last several months, both the quality of the grooming and the way I am treated as a paying customer have deteriorated significantly. I have increasingly walked away feeling as though bringing my dog in is an inconvenience to the staff rather than a service I am paying for. More concerning, the attitude doesn't feel isolated to one employee. The overall environment and the dismissive response I've received from management have left me with the impression that this is being tolerated from the top down. What ultimately matters most to me, however, is how the animals are treated. We personally witnessed a groomer become visibly frustrated with a dog, grab the dog, hold up the grooming tool in her hand and say, "See this? This is going to be what cuts you if you keep moving." Watching that interaction made me extremely uncomfortable about leaving my own dog in this environment. When concerns have been brought to management, the response has felt dismissive. There may be acknowledgment of the issue, but there has been no meaningful apology or sense that the concerns of a long-term customer are being taken seriously. The actual grooming service has also become increasingly inconsistent. Services that we are told are included in what we pay for are sometimes simply not done. On several recent visits, I have picked up my dog and found that she was still wet. Appointments that routinely took three to four hours are now being completed in approximately two hours, while at the same time the quality and thoroughness have noticeably declined. I don't expect perfection. I do expect consistency, professionalism, the services I paid for, and above everything else a grooming environment where I feel completely comfortable leaving my dog. After nine years, I no longer feel that way. My daughter, who has also been a customer, has independently reached the same conclusion based on her experiences and is taking her dog elsewhere as well. This isn't a decision I've made because of one bad appointment. It is the result of a consistent decline in service, customer treatment, and ultimately my confidence in the environment where I am leaving my dog. Losing two established customers should matter. I hope PetSmart takes a serious look at what has changed in this grooming salon, because something clearly has.

Our appointment was at 10:15am, and while the website says the test is about 15 minutes, I expected it to run longer (you're working with animals, after all). We ended up being there until about 12:30pm, and honestly it was worth every minute. A few tips: -Definitely bring an SUV if you can, the last stretch of dirt road is steep, bumpy with potholes, and super dusty. -There are porta potties but no hand-washing station, so come prepared. -Shade is limited, so bring a hat, sunblock, and plenty of water. And wear boots you don't mind getting dusty! Now, about the trainers: anyone complaining about Paul really needs to get over themselves, lol. He's dry, sarcastic, and doesn't care about sugar-coating things- but he's good at what he does, and honestly I think he's hilarious. You're coming to a ranch to watch your dog tap into their primal instincts, not a spa retreat. It's gritty and authentic, exactly what you'd expect from someone teaching skills that working cowboys have relied on for generations. We started with Paul, then switched to Janna in a more private area since Taco was distracted by other dogs in the big pen. Once she had fewer distractions, she absolutely thrived! she went in three times total and passed her instinct test on her very first day! Janna was amazing with her. The way she spoke about dogs was so soft, thoughtful, and full of love. you can tell she really cares about each dog as an individual. Her patience and gentle approach made the whole experience feel special, and Taco clearly felt comfortable with her. And for anyone spreading misinformation about Janna's GoFundMe being a fraud: her facility in Malibu really did burn down in the fires. It's sad how quick people are to make assumptions without knowing the full story. Overall, Drummond Ranch was a fantastic experience. Well let me tell you, he was more awful than even the worst review! I tried to have a sense of humor about, but it was impossible. He yelled that my dog (a malinois mix) better not kill his sheep and shouldn't even be there. After my dog did really well (in fairness the handler who took the dogs into the ring was very nice), I said "see, he proved you wrong", the owner grunted "I wasn't watching". Just an all around unpleasant experience. I feel bad for the woman who takes the payments, she seemed embarrassed by his behavior.

When I picked her up she looked and smelled sooooo good! The second time I brought her in the owners were super nice. They took Mika in for the works, again. And again, she smelled soooo good! Her fur was so soft and shiny. It was so obvious that she was treated good. It was like left her with family. The owners are super nice and caring. I will definitely bring Mika in again and again. It's important as a fur baby owner that we and our babies are happy and satisfied with our groomers. We are happy!!!
