Came here for first 18 hole round. The course definitely has some great views. The green and fairways are nice and lawned out. The water is glossing into the sun. This is a walkable course, they do offer golf carts and push carts. Took us about 3 hours to complete. Along each tee time there are benches to rest. Pace of play when I went out was definitely relaxed. As a beginner this is a great course to practice a more challenging game. Only thing is lots of muddy areas but nothing to wear it was super excessive. Wanted to buy a souvenir ball but they didn't have it. Overall, would come here again and play!

Beautiful smaller course to practice short game as well as a few par 4s. Staff here is amazing, John is great and the Marshalls always check in and make sure everything is going well during the day. Love this course.

I love this place. Close to home. Good rates. And they just opened the new clubhouse! Hell yeah! Watch out for Hole #4!

Was pretty disappointed with this course. Course is not maintained very well. Literally no sand in the bunkers, dead patches of grass on basically every hole. Staff was decently nice. Price was nice but, personally was not a fan of this course overall.

9th hole and reachable par 4

Good public course to work on your short game and iron play. A fair amount of hazards on holes. Can get pretty crowded.

The most challenging part of any golf round is the short game and I've been able to whittle down my index by concentrating on just that.

Two weeks after my previous review…read more.. Early May 2025. A Saturday 10:30am tee time. I usually never play golf on weekends due to the usual overcrowding by too many beer swilling loud screaming hooligans (HEY BROs: golf is a zen sport not a WWE Monday night RAW match) and the too slow pace of play. But not this time! Me and my visiting pal teed off #1 exactly on time. There was a 4 some in front of us. And no one behind us, that we ever saw, for the entire game. Of course the forward foursome was slower than just the two of us, even though they were riding and we walked. If we were going to wait at the tee boxes for the ahead group we instead just hung back at the putting green and practiced rolling the ball from different spots. We averaged 7 minutes putting practice on every green. As we were not in a rush, the extra time on the golf course was appreciated. This scenario is a miracle for weekend golf. I assume the reason it was possible is: Cherry Island weekend walking green fee before 1:00pm is $45. After 1:01pm the green fee drops to $22. So all the old guys play later to save 50%. I'll gladly return to an occasional week end game at Cherry Island if the open course experience is the norm.

Tee boxes were a little rough but the course itself as a whole was in great shape. Pace of play was…read more4 1/2 hours which is great for a Saturday afternoon. I'll be playing it again.

First thing first,I like this golf course. This golf course has an exact purpose and it fills that…read morepurpose perfectly. This golf course is for beginners-In my lifetime I have probably taken 10 different golfers who had never played a round on a course or maybe even never even touched a golf club before.Thats what this place is here for and I love it. Recently my son wanted to finally play a real round of golf and though he has been to the driving range many times over the years,he has never actually played a round,so when he told me that,I knew exactly where we were headed-we went to Foothill Golf Course in Citrus Heights. We showed up around 930a on a random weekday and it was empty minus a player or 2 at the far reaches of the course. So we paid our green fees of $20 each and were told to go ahead and tee off whenever we were ready. That $20 gives u access to play 9 holes at this short par 3 course and if u want and there are openings you can pay another $7 to play another 9 holes. This is a true no frills golf course-they have an area you can practice putting but that's about it,no driving range,no chipping area, and it's perfect that way-it's just a course you go to when you want to introduce someone to golf in a judgment free spot, etiquette can be taught but people aren't hung up on it here,it's a place where the love of the game can be born and I'm happy it exists. So if you are ever looking for a spot to take a new golfer in your life or maybe you want to try golf for the 1st time,I would fully recommend this golf course to give our lovely sport a shot-u never know,u might love it.

The whole idea of Tap Houses really does appeal to me…read more I love being able to just grab a glass and seeing all the beers on the wall and picking what I want and how much I want. The people who run Waymaker Brewing in Roseville are doing this at the highest level. I've been to this location a few times for different events and every time a wonderful time was had. So as far as the beers go they have around 40 different beers on tap and also they have 10 wines on tap as well. So exactly how it works is this- When you walk in you give them a credit/debit card-then they give you a wristband-next you grab a glass and go pick your beer or wine and you get charged by the ounce you actually pour rather than by the glass size. Then at the end of the visit, you turn in your wristbands and you get charged whatever it is you poured in total for the visit-I love the entire concept. It's a great way to be able to try many types of beer instead of just a few big beers. Now let's talk about the elephant in the room for Waymaker. The thing that makes this place unique is they have 6 golf simulators a person can rent depending on day and time anywhere from $35-$60 an hour and up to 6 people can play on the simulator at one time. On these simulators there are more than 200 virtual courses available. It's a crazy amount of fun for golfers of all skill levels There is also a hand roll sushi bar inside called Fire Fish where one can order sushi-hand rolls-flatbreads or various small plates. It really is an amazing place. They also have a massive big screen in the back that is furnished with comfortable couches and chairs in case one wants to just hangout and watch whatever live sporting event is happening that visit. Let's see my last few visits I've gone with my son and we played a round of golf at Pebble Beach on the simulator. I've gone to a birthday party for my boss and we had 2 simulators rented and we ate sushi rolls and flatbread while drinking a lot of beer. I've gone to do after work drinks with a friend while watching NBA playoff basketball. Visits to Waymaker can be so many things but I can say for sure every visit will be fun. So if you find yourself out in Roseville and want to try something a little different-head on out to Waymaker Brewing, it really is a great time. PS. Parking is a breeze as they share a big lot with lots of spaces with other businesses.

The manager and her coordinating staff knew what they were doing and helped us alot along the way. I couldn't have asked for a better venue, our day was just perfect! They have a bridal suite for both parties to get ready in, bathrooms inside the venue, a huge kitchen, and two spots you can choose from for your ceremony! Our guests loved the view. Very spacious venue and flexible for any arrangement in my opinion! Only thing is that on your wedding day you'll have couple golfers and customers that wont want to respect your day, but it wasnt a big problem for us and that isnt the staffs fault! I just wish those customers weren't so entitled and selfish. Yeah the venue isn't as new or luxurious but it has its own charm. Plus with the killer view it has and with decor you can make it what you want it to be. Our photographers said it looks like we were in the Hamptons! Other than that I would recommend this place to anybody that wants a big party with a spectacular sunset look. I have no regrets, we will never forget our wonderful day!

I…read moredecided to take a chance on Morgan Creek as an out of towner staying relatively close by and boy was I surprised! Based on the reviews here I was expecting piss poor conditions and the fact that I only paid $50 for the 2pm tee time led me to believe that was going to be the case. But boy was I wrong! I live in Southern CA and for $50 (cart included) at 2pm you'll be waiting at every tee box (even on weekdays) praying you find grass to hit from and the rental set of clubs would be a mix match of stuff they found in the lost & found. Here at Morgan Creek I received a beautiful set of Taylormade Qi 35 woods and Qi irons with a tour x spider putter as my rental clubs. I was not planning to play on this trip so I did not bring my own. The course was in good to great shape. Yes there were some bunkers that needed some love, and some water hazards that were drying up, but it appeared the tee boxes had recently been aerated so in a few weeks they'll be perfect, the greens were probably the best I've seen at this price point, could have been a little faster, but in general I loved the undulations and overall green complexes. I for SURE will be back! Even at $75 for a weekend rate, consider that a steal for the quality of the course! The only other course I've played in the area is the MacKenzie at Haggin Oaks (SAME PRICE) and this course was far and away my favorite of the two. I'm open to trying other courses in the area when I'm up for business, but I'm definitely coming back here for another round!
