Once I entered an older employee (NOT WEARING A MASK) starting yelling at me to put a mask on! I'm told his name is Larry but I'm not sure. During our argument he snatched my credit card out of my had and continued to yell at me! Even after I agreed and put a mask on he threw my credit card at me and stormed off (STILL NOT WEARING A MASK!) I will NEVER golf here again! The young man helping me was great. This place has a lot of potential, but the course unfortunately has fallen off. Conditions wise,…read morethroughout the course there were patches of dead grass that made the fairways and grass tough to play from. If it were the rough, I could excuse it, but multiple times throughout the round, you can effectively get penalized. It sucks because the layout is actually fun to play through. That aside, the people here made the experience something else. They dragged down the experience. Multiple times groups would hit into the group in front of them; it was stupid, dangerous, and accomplished nothing. You would be waiting on the fairway on a par 4, waiting for the group ahead that's still on the green, and ball hit into you from the driver. They had the gall to yell, "Hit the ball!", but where are you supposed to hit it? Into the group on the green putting? The crotchery group hitting into them all had their own carts, instead of being paired; if they wanted to play at a faster pace, they should have booked a time that was earlier. The thing that really made this a 1 star experience was the attitude of the Marshall. There was a gap in front of us before even teeing off. A twosome teed off before our full group of four, and there was time in between. There was a gap of at least one hole before it was our time to tee off. In this marshall's brain, that automatically meant we were behind pace when he first saw us 3 holes in. The logic didnt add up, when he aggressively indicated that. This marshall was something else. He was overly aggressive and condescending. He even wanted is to skip multiple holes, despite being outpaced by a group half in size and built in cushion. He also made a remark about seeing off the wrong markers, suggesting to move further up. We ended up catching up too, to the group in front despite his asinine comments. We had to ignore him. I'm not going to pretend like I'm a pro, but I didn't have the best day out there and shot comfortably in the mid-70s, and ball striking wasnt the reason for the lost strokes. He was incredibly condescending to the people in not only my group, and in other groups based on everyone's accounts. Apparently he was even worse to other groups. I'm not sure what happened in that person's life to make him that cranky and have such a poor outlook on life; I legitimately felt a mixture of disappointment and sadness for him. I hope I'm never at that level of life. He also shot groups dirty looks throughout, and he really soured the experience. It made no sense. I've been fortunate to play at some exclusive places across the world, and this man was by far and away #1 on worst people associated with the course. He was incredibly smarmy and full of himself, and at courses worlds much higher up in prestige, never even got close to what this man gave off. All that being said, I cane excuse the conditions. It's tough to keep up perfect conditions, in this economy. The attitude from the Marshall though, that's free to fix. It was so bad that I won't be back again.

Recently my son wanted to finally play a real round of golf and though he has been to the driving range many times over the years,he has never actually played a round,so when he told me that,I knew exactly where we were headed-we went to Foothill Golf Course in Citrus Heights. We showed up around 930a on a random weekday and it was empty minus a player or 2 at the far reaches of the course.So we paid our green fees of $20 each and were told to go ahead and tee off whenever we were ready.That $20 gives u access to play 9 holes at this short par 3 course and if u want and there are openings you can pay another $7 to play another 9 holes. This is a true no frills golf course-they have an area you can practice putting but that's about it,no driving range,no chipping area,and it's perfect that way-it's just a course you go to when you want to introduce someone to golf in a judgment free spot,etiquette can be taught but people aren't hung up on it here,it's a place where the love of the game can be born and I'm happy it exists. So if you are ever looking for a spot to take a new golfer in your life or maybe you want to try golf for the 1st time,I would fully recommend this golf course to give our lovely sport a shot-u never know,u might love it.
