I hired Anson electric for 2 small projects at my condo. Not only was I able to request a quote via Yelp but they also gave me a quote over the phone when I went to schedule the appointment. I didn't have to block a 4 hour window for a tech to show up, quote me & then insist they need to come another day to do the project like I've experienced before with other companies. While this method would be understandable for a large complicated project, for something like installing a ceiling fan I greatly appreciated the ease of getting a quote. I could not be happier with the work Anson electric did fixing our outlets..we had two dead outlets that did not work never worked. We had another electrician come out to fix it and he couldn't figure out what was wrong with it and basically told us he didn't know what to do and said it could cost a lot to fix..called Dave for an appointment which he even came earlier for..came and took him like a short time to diagnose what was wrong with it..turns out we had an outlet that was covered up by insulation and drywall when they first built our house..and we have new construction. A circuit breaker in one of our electrical panels appeared to be blown. When drying my hair, it blew, and turning it on and off didn't reset it. David Dawson fixed it in less than an hour. The switch wasn't broken, it was the ancient hair dryer I was using. David determined the old switch was just fine, so he removed the new one and replaced it with the old one. Everything worked perfectly. David could have left the new one in, and charged me for it. He didn't. His honesty in assessing the situation and keeping the cost for me down was extremely welcome. After an initial evaluation of my electrical panel to identify why one circuit kept tripping when the AC was running, the Electrician said the AC was on its own circuit, and it was fine. This was in conflict with SDG&E stating on a visit a week earlier that several outlets were on the same circuit as the AC, and the AC needed to be on its own circuit. The Anson Electrician recommended replacing all of the circuits because they were old, and cleaning up the inside of the circuit box. He stated that he would provide a quote for the work, where my service call charge would be applied to the work. After waiting over 30 days, no response. I still experience circuits blowing when the AC is on, and other appliances are on. I will seek another Electrician who really wants my business. Anson can keep the service charge- a waste of my time and my money, but they have lost my future business. read more

We had two major wall outlet problems. First, the outlet to the stove no longer had power. Second, an electric fireplace outlet had lost power and caused a sizzling noise in the adjacent wall switch which had me on edge for a couple of days. I replaced the wall outlets myself, but to no avail. I own an older home that was wired in the 1950s and I didn't have the slightest idea what was off. This all happened 2 days before Christmas when I finally called Anson Electric. Joel came out that same day and was nothing short of incredible. He went underneath the crawl space, diagnosed how the wiring was related. He showed me exactly why the sizzling noise happened due to a loose connection that had melted the plastic wire nut (see picture). He then diagnosed the stove issue which was a loose wire in the panel. It was amazing watching him fix these issues in short order and explaining and showing me everything in detail. As a homeowner, it really put my mind at ease while taking the mystery out. Joel is my go to electrician from now on. So thankful I can rely on an electrician who is competent, professional, friendly, and honest in pricing. I had a somewhat complicated situation dealing with a friend in her 90's who's not used to having people around her house. He helped get a dangerous exposed wire from SDGE's pole to the house fixed fixed quickly as it was a necessity & very close to her aluminum siding.
