First time at Anson 11 and short story, great experience and food, definitely coming back. My wife picked the place to celebrate her mom's 93rd birthday. The atmosphere is warm and the staff are friendly. I had the meatloaf, and the ladies the steak frites; rare and medium rare. Both were done perfectly and my meatloaf was delicious. We had mentioned it was her birthday and they surprised her with a delicious dessert. Not some slice of cake; this had a sparkler and was a trifecta of blueberry mousse, chocolate mousse and a coconut mousse on a graham cracker crust. It was generous, unexpected and quite delicious.

Food was amazing! The ambience was great toooo! The service could have been better. We had to wait for over 10 minutes until the waiter was told that we were in his section. Nonetheless, we enjoyed ourselves very much. Recommended 4/5.

El Paso has really great places in and around the downtown area. One of our favorites is Anson 11. We have been to Anson 11 several times during our 6 month stay in El Paso and have enjoyed it every time. The staff, completely accommodating and professional and food was exceptional. Great indoor area but our favorite spot is their outdoor patio...enjoyed the view of the San Jacinto Plaza "Alligator Park" IYKYK.

Food***// pork chop was good but slightly overcooked imo, I wish it could be more juicy but inside was kind of dry Service*****// service was excellent they checked in for 3 times at right timing no pressure at all. Also water was refilled without asking which sometimes are difficult Ambiance****// nice pub area and also dinning area was well positioned to provide more intimate feeling

Great atmosphere. It definitely put a smile on both of our faces.

Our server Andrew was amazing. He had a great personality and great knowledge of the menu and the food specials. Great atmosphere and ambience. The food was magnificent. I can't wait to go back.

On a recent trip to El Paso, we were staying in the hotel across the street and Anson 11 sounded like a good option for dinner. The location was very convenient and it appeared to be a little nicer. Overall, I really wasn't impressed. The food was pretty overpriced for what it was and the taste just wasn't great. I found my meatloaf to be super salty. Something that I found very interesting was that we were able to get a 9 PM reservation on a Saturday night but when we finally showed up, it was dead. We tried to get an earlier reservation, but I was under the assumption that they were super busy. However, upon arrival, the restaurant was super dead.

So funny, coincidence my next-door neighbor, who is several decades younger than happens to have the same birthday as me and this year it fell on Thanksgiving day, so of course nobody celebrates their birthday on Thanksgiving day right because it's all about turkey and family so we decided to do a girls night out and go to an 11 complete with tiara's And gorgeous dresses. We shared a calamari appetizer. Let me tell you the dipping sauce for it was amazing the red sauce, a little spicy, but kind of mild but has honey in it so it was so different and just so tasty the calamari was cooked to perfection. I had the gnocchi with chicken on top had to add a little protein in there you know and my neighbor, the shrimp mac & cheese it is a very grown-up version of mac & cheese and she loved it. They brought us a fabulous little square of birthday cake for each of us, beautifully plated with a sparkler in it so yeah, we actually got to have birthday cake. It was a fabulous evening. The waitress was very expensive, and the food was on point from our seats we could look directly out the front window across to where the winter festival was going on what a view so as we rolled out of our booth to go meet our Uber because the streets were closed off for the winter festival. We had to walk quite a bit to the Uber pick up point so There is no guilt anymore over the birthday cake because believe me we walked that off. What a great night.

I'm in El Paso for a few hours, and my Uber driver tells me Anson 11 is the spot, you better have a reservation or prepare to be humbled kinda place. Im stubborn so I pulled up with no reservation, ready to test my luck. Now, to be fair, I did have a backup plan; Ambar, right across the street. I told myself, If they turn me away, no biggie, I'll head to Ambar. Honestly? I probably should've just gone there. I landed a seat at the bar. The atmosphere was doing exactly what it needed to do: relaxed, upscale, and balanced. They had a baseball game on and music going, but somehow neither was overpowering. You could vibe to both depending on your mood; ESPN or old school hits. I started with a hibiscus margarita, and it was refreshing, floral, and honestly the best part of my meal. Then I ordered the steak frites, because when you're in unfamiliar territory, steak and fries is usually the safe, reliable best friend of dinner choices. Or so I thought. The plate came out, and my steak looked like it was trying to escape from a swimming pool of béarnaise sauce. I'm not talking a drizzle or even a generous pour. No, this was full on béarnaise soup with meat as garnish. I asked the bartender what was going on, and he explained that's just how they serve it. Yeah...Not for me. I asked very nicely if they could remake it without the sauce. The bartender was cool about it, no attitude, just handled it. But now I'm sitting there, hungry, for what's turning into a steak saga. 20 minutes the first time, another twenty the 2nd round. The new steak came out: no sauce... cooked medium just like I asked, and juicy. But someone forgot the seasoning. It tasted like someone grilled it in witness protection. No salt, no pepper just nothing. I didn't want to send it back again, so I doctored it up with some salt and pepper from the bar. The fries? First batch: amazing. Second batch: overcooked and sad. Probably because they were rushing to save the entree. I needed to follow my first instinct and head straight to Ambar's front door.

The Cassel: Specialty cocktail, made table-side from a beautiful bar cart.

Caveat: this review is specific to UPSTAIRS dining, which has its own menu, ambiance and service. The downstairs bistro/bar is also lovely, but I would rate it 4 stars overall (4.5 on a good day!) Reservations recommended. It's great for a special occasion or date night. Intimate, romantic, probably best for parties smaller than 6. The space is easily accessible (it has its own elevator.) What to order: 1) If you enjoy fine dining, order a cocktail and enjoy the table-side bar cart service. They also have an extensive wine list. 2) the Brussels Sprouts Salad. Unassuming description on the menu, but it has a dedicated local following. I like to quietly order it for the table and then delight on everyone's face when they take a bite. 3) Whatever entree most appeals. The kitchen tends to do it all well. On my most recent visit, my date and I shared the short rib and the NY Strip. Service tends to be very attentive. You will not be rushed. You generally won't wait for anything (except possibly the bar cart.) We had a fantastic meal start to finish. If you aren't happy with something, raise it nicely and I think you'll see them try to resolve it. I think upstairs dining at Anson 11 is possibly the best value for upscale / fine dining in El Paso.

Very nice seating area convenient location downtown El Paso .We were seated right away for not having made reservations which I would recommend to do . The staff was very pleasant and helpful . We tried the mussels with fries that was a hit loved it my Hibiscus margarita was delightful and we shared the French dip and the flavor of the beef on the bread delicious . We will be back to try something else because all sounded so good !

Had a great time at Anson 11 having dinner with friends. I ordered a ribeye well-done (I know, don't judge me) and it was perfectly cooked. I switch the steak fries for their truffle French friend and they were delicious!! The mango cantarito was a new twist to my favorite drink.

Dinner tonight was quite the experience, the calamari was outstanding, and all of the appetizers were to die for, bottles upon bottles of wine flowed like the river Thames and we enjoyed such magnificent Food with unparalleled Service, we'll see you in three years!

Chocolate cake

Came here for my birthday dinner and loved it! The service was impeccable. Our waiter was so lovely. It's an upscale restaurant with very moody lighting. The food was delicious and our waiter made great recommendations.

Is this worthy of Michelin star?

So I, of course, feeling the need always to explore new cocktail bars or restaurants in my hometown when visiting home, was pretty excited for the opportunity to check out Hush Hush. As a true millennial Gemini, I celebrate my birthday for the whole month, so I quickly texted my family and friends; this is where I wanted to go. What I love about Hush Hush is how it's encouraging and pushing folks to step out of their comfort zone in their attire and dress more to the vibes of this cocktail house (Think Soho, ABA, Casablanca, and Elephante). You're bound to see more desert tones, muted colors, flowy pants, basically anything resort wear. It's cool to see this cocktail house make you feel like you're not in El Paso. The music is different, more loungey, to where you can hear everyone at your table. Of course, there's still a DJ, but damn, Hush Hush is intentionally geared for those who love to go out but need top-shelf cocktails without the eye rolls or the bartenders staring at us with blank eyes. Hush Hush is a true game changer. The lines might get crazy, but I suggest getting there early so you can snag your photos and a solid table/spot. There are three main bar areas, but my fave was the velvet room. I suggest catching a drink on the second floor if you get there early enough to get an eagle eye's view of the establishment. Attention to detail was on point, and I appreciated the homework and research done before the opening of this spot. It's an elevated experience for the city and one I wish every city in the States had tbh.

If I remember correctly, I entered El Paso on a Monday or a Tuesday, and The Reagan was super quiet. I was informed (by more than one party) that it's packed on the weekends. That makes sense. This place has a speakeasy vibe but with an almost classy sensual undertone. It's definitely unique. I had an Old Fashioned after a long drive from San Antonio. I thought I was celebrating after a poker room in SA just made a verbal agreement with me for good money after a three-hour conversation with the owner. However, he was apparently upset I posted a video from another club in SA that was 40-minutes away and only runs one game. He was also afraid to tell me this and a coward. Solution would have been: "Can you please take that video down?" Whatever, dude. Part of reason that business won't last. A business should be run with honesty, respect, and transparency. Anyway ... at The Reagan, a biker dude came in and he was a singer in Germany because he met his German wife in the US when she was watching one of his shows and introduced herself. He was about to go back to Germany but heard good things about The Reagan so drove an hour on his bike to see it the day before he left. And he was impressed. We talked for about an hour about many things. If you visit El Paso, The Regan is a must! It's like being in a movie. Which movie? Maybe a mix between a 007 movie and Boogie Nights.

Adjacent to the The Tiki Room, Pearl Divers features a rotating list of oysters from different regions at $3 a pop. We had the chance to try all three oysters that they were featuring for the day and we really enjoyed the palette. The oysters featured might've been limited but they had a major punch to them with flavor. My favorite were the ones that were a bit more briny, truly small but mighty. Your oysters are brought out with the traditional crackers, hot sauce, mignonette sauce, horseradish, and lemons. It was nice for them to all folks the chance to order in any quantity as I'm sure a few folks might be trying oysters for the very first time in a landlocked city. The had a finessed menu featuring carpaccio, tartare, and about ten to fifteen dishes encompassing appetizers to main entrees. We had ordered the carpaccio but it never came out (no biggie, again it was soft opening so we came in with an open mind). Since we got there a bit later in the day, they were out of frites and I am a loyal fan of oysters, frites, and bubbles (wine at the minimum). This just means we'll have to be back. What was most important to me though was the service and how friendly the staff was. We opted to sit at the bar (as one should at an Oyster bar) and be as close to the oyster display as possible. I used to live in New Orleans for a few years so sometimes when it's busier and you're chatting away they'll shuck an extra one to you every so often to try. I'm pretty stoked to see the dining scene continuously elevating and Pearl Divers is a nice rendition. I'll be certain to come back and can't wait to see what a five-star experience is out of their soft opening phase. *** If there is one piece of feedback I'd provide is to have smaller spoons for the mignonette and forks for the oysters. The current sizes are a bit too large and can easily ruin the integrity of the oyster when making sure it's been properly separated and not intact, as well as, not being able to have the right ratio of mignonette sauce for each oyster. The spoon was constantly hitting the mouth of the condiment cup.
