Sure it's smaller than a big place like Houston Garden Center, BUT they make up for that in so many ways. First off, super nice staff that is actually knowledgeable in what they sell! I went here for the 1st time about 2 weeks ago just looking, with one specific thing in mind I wanted to buy but expectations low (I'll get into that later). I did end up getting a small basil plant, and then a bigger tomato plant. Spent less then $7 and both plants are still doing good. They sell a huge variety of items, and definitely a spot to get more rare items. So initially I came across this place by googling what places might have butterfly pea and people mentioned getting it here here. Mind you though the posts I saw on fb were over 7 months old so I figured depending on season I might be out of luck, and so I went with low hopes the first time I went and they had none. (Wonderful selection just not what I was looking for, plus I had people waiting in the car for me so I didnt really get to look more in depth into all the plants.) I did ask though as I was checking out if they would be getting some anytime soon (I really didnt want to try growing some myself from seedlings) and the lady said they should in a few weeks and even gave me a card in the case I wanted to call ahead to see if they had any. Well she wasn't lying cause I went back today and they had the plant I wanted in stock! It was an impromptu kind of trip so I didnt bother to call ahead, so I was pleasantly surprised to see it as I walked in. Also walked out with a "dragons breath" and my parter walked out with a "mexican bird of paradise" and a "boxwood basil" which we had yet to see and the few other nursery/garden stores we had been to. It's my favorite small nursery in town because they have nice variety each week, good value, and friendly service. There is a store with great gifts including soaps and candles. They have nice hanging baskets. They also have a lot of herbs and vegetables including tomatoes. Highly recommended to add joy and color to your garden. read more

Cute little nursery in the neighborhood of the Heights. There wasn't a huge selection (based on size of this nursery alone) but they had lots of different outdoor and indoor plants to choose from. My friends had told me about this place because they had some nice staghorns! Prices here are also not outrageous and I thought everything was decently priced. The owners were super friendly and I left with two new little plants for my collection. Worth a walk through if you're ever in the area! read more

I absolutely loved this place and I will be returning here to get more plants. The owners here are super helpful with caring instructions and genuinely so kind. Compared to Buchanan's, their store was smaller but definitely offered a great variety of popular and unusual plants. Price: prices were wayyy cheaper than at Buchanan's and they were having sale of the week going on for many attractive and interesting plant species. My friends and I found perfect indoor plants, orchids, and cacti to take home with us and we all had a great experience here. The owner told me that I would need to transfer my plant to a bigger pot soon, and he did it for me right on the spot and the terra cotta pot was only 50 cents (they're used but you can barely tell). They also said that if you want anything specific, you can leave them a voice message and let them know. You won't regret checking this place out! read more

Smaller local spot compared the the bigger places with plants. However, this place is nice. Their prices on many of the plants are the better priced compared to the bigger locations. Many plants are priced very fair, and they're very good plants. Specially, the smaller plants that will eventually be repotted. Staff is always very friendly, informative and very helpful. I absolutely positively loooove this place! I recently started an herb garden before I loved to TX and in my research for this I came across some lovely specialty plants like air plants and a dwarf pomegranate tree. Both were great find listed quite a bit under the lowest prices offered on amazon!its a great and unique find! Quite a few ladies work there and each of them are extremely knowledgable about all the plants! I was able to ask them all manner of questions and they were very helpful. They made many suggestions that have helped my plants out quite a bit! They get new stock every few weeks. So I'm now a frequent visitor. read more

If you're hitting nurseries in the Heights area, you'll want to add APIT to your list of stops. They may be smaller than some of the other ones nearby, but that doesn't stop them from having a great selection of excellent plants. I haven't bought many from here, but the prices are spot on and the quality of plants I've brought home keeps me coming back. They do get various varieties of "rarer" plants, and the owners will post information on their social media sites. Don't be afraid to give them a call or engage them on Facebook if you have any questions, they are super friendly! read more

This small nursery in the Heights has a little bit of everything... a nice variety of uncommon or unusual plants not found at most nurseries along with everyday plants. Prices are good to average - but you have to find their specials. I was able to score 3 medium sized herbs for $5 while they were having their 3 for 5 sale. I surely would have spent more at a larger home & garden store AND these plants are thriving, not at the verge of death. They have been around for 20 years and know their stuff. Everyone who works there is very friendly and helpful. They will also offer great ideas/advice. This isn't something you often see at larger stores, so it's kind of refreshing! read more

I wanted to add a few additional herbs to my "isolation porch garden." I called Saturday, April 25, 2020, and picked up baby oregano and thyme plants Sunday morning using curbside pick-up. My new babies are growing nicely on my porch balcony and are about ready to be transferred into my planters. What an amazing place! They have beautiful, unusual, well-taken care of plants for extremely reasonable prices. I was able to get a Swiss cheese plant (monstera deliciosa) for a fraction of what is costs at other nurseries. Such a unique selection of hoyas, ferns, succulents and other amazingly beautiful and healthy plants. I am seriously in love with this place. Today I was getting in my car to leave and a man came out to my car from behind a gate. He cursed at me several times and told me to leave in a not-so-nice way. I let him know I was leaving and he proceeded to punch my vehicle more than once. And as I got to the stop sign at 11th I could see him waving his arms and running toward my vehicle saying to stop or wait (probably because another man tending to the plants told him that he shouldn't have done that). Thank God there was a break in traffic so I could pull off onto 11th. People can be unpredictable and it scared me very much. read more

I love small businesses because they offer personalized services and touches that are sometimes missing from larger businesses. There are a whole lot of things crammed into a small space here, but it makes it seem like a treasure hunt! There's just a little bit of this, a little bit of that. There is additional parking in back that is not apparent when you pull into the nursery. They have some unusual arrangements in large beach shells that I thought would make a nice gift. One suggestion: label your plants so one knows the cultivation/light requirements, etc., and also, let's mark the plants with prices. read more
