Went flower shopping here for Valentine's Day and had an amazing experience! The two women who were working there were both very friendly. And, even though they were busy with the Valentine's crowd, they took time to help me assemble the perfect bouquet. They had so many pretty orchids to choose from - but they also had a wide selection of other flowers and plants as well. It felt a bit on the pricey side, but I haven't done much flower shopping so I don't have the best gauge on that. But I do think it was worth it and am likely to return when I need more flowers! read more

Follow their social media for updates (Instagram @orchidexpress111) They specialize and have a wide variety of orchids. Common or exotic, they'll have it. If you know anyone who tosses their orchids after they bloom, you can send them here instead of the trash bin to rescue it. Noah was so lovely to talk to! He made sure to lmk what deals were going and helped me find what I was looking for. My friend bought me a Twinkle Pink Profussion from their San Antonio vendor event. I was entrusted with a friend's orchid; despite written instructions I managed to overwater, leaves acquired brown spots, one leaf turned yellow and fell off, etc. So decided to look for another plant to replace when my friend returns this week. Lucky me we happened on Orchid Express and specifically Noah. He knows his orchids! He told me what I had probably done wrong, sold me some small plants ready to bloom and all of this in a cheerful and polite way. We'll be back! read more

Found on line and went there last saturday. Was looking specifically for orchards and they did not disappoint. Noah is so sweet and knowledgable and I came home with two beauties. I cannot get over the frangrance of my new Onc red wasp love bug :) . I literally can walk by her and can smell the beautiful scent. I live out of state, but wanted to order something special for my mother's birthday who lives in Houston.  I found Orchid Express on Yelp, and called them hoping to get an order in, although it was already past the business hours posted.  Brandi answered, and proceeded to give me the best customer service...  patiently explained what she had in stock, gave a lot of cool ideas, and also texted pictures of inventory that she currently had.  She ended up putting together a beautiful Orchid arrangement and delivered it personally to my mom the next day... all at a great, fair price.  My parents sent me pics of the arrangement later that day, and I was very impressed.  I highly recommend Orchid Express, and definitely need to connect with Brandi who will go out of her way to help you.  Thanks so much! read more

I found Lee right after moving to Houston four years ago. A friend had a beautiful and unusual orchid on his coffee table and he told me to look her up. I've been 'leasing' ever since. Here's how it works: you buy an orchid PLUS the personal care instructions with the plant in bloom or about to bloom. You then have fresh flowers for one to two months. Then once it's spent you bring the plants back for new ones. This is much more satisfying than those 'puppy farm' orchids you get at the grocery store, and now I've learned enough to rebloom three of the plants I didn't take back! A pleasant surprise in middle of the Heights. I was greeted by friendly helpful staff. The prices are in line with the area. A nice find.

A great nursery ! Greenhouses filled with the most beautiful and unusual orchids, bromeliads, ferns,etc. This was our first visit , but we are sure to go back again soon. We did walk away with purchasing 4 orchids and a bromeliad because the prices are just too great to pass up . The owner is very knowledgeable and is so very helpful . I highly suggest anyone who loves unique plants visit this place, you won't regret it !!!! read more

Great place where you can buy or rent orchids. Rent you say? How's that work? Well basically you can by an orchid for ~$40 and it'll bloom for 4-6 weeks, then it won't bloom again for a year. You can bring the plant back and get another one for 20% off. Useful if you want something always in bloom, or if you have a business where you want fresh flowers all the time. read more

I was just lost at this place! Such a wide variety of orchids! Different kinds, shape, colors, smells. Amazing! They also have some really nice pots and planters. Another nice thing about this place is that they can make you your own custom orchid arrangement. Definitely not your regular grocery store orchids. And the owner is a REALLY nice lady! I have never been in this shop but I ordered a live orchid and it was delivered to my home......5 months ago! It is still thriving and all 30, yes 30, blooms have been open for a long time. I will definitely trade it in for a new plant (and their 20% trade in allowance) when, or IF, it ever goes downhill. Very reasonable price considering the above. read more

After reading the other reviews on Yelp, I was really surprised and disappointed by this shop. I saw nothing of the variety of orchids that other posters' pictures seem to suggest - it was basically a ton of white and pink phalaenopsis (the kind that you can pick up at the grocery store which, while pretty, is nothing special - and theirs were considerably more expensive). I asked about ordering something more interesting, but the clerk couldn't give me any specific options. So honestly, if you're just looking for a nice, standard orchid, HEB on Buffalo Speedway has some large, healthy plants for $20. And if you're looking for a less common variety, this isn't the place. read more

My mom and I stumbled upon this shop because of a detour. Not only do they have orchids, but they have amazing Hibiscus. We purchased one and when it bloomed it was more beautiful than the pictures. We will be getting plenty more when we start to re landscape our house. They also have gorgeous bougainvillaeas and a couple of other interesting plants.
