I went in on a Sunday at 12:30 and they were busy but able to get a spot at the bar fairly quickly. I was greeted by the bartender right away and she had my water and order taken within the first few minutes of me sitting down. I liked that they had options to order half and half for under $13. I got the Louisiana gumbo and crab Benedict. The presentation wasn't top notch as the gumbo spilled out on the plate, however, it tasted great and the garlic bread that came with it soaked up the base perfectly. Somehow they managed to make it taste creamy. The crab Benedict needed some salt and they could have used about half the green onions. It was good overall though.

I had been craving biscuits and gravy for weeks so I stopped by to check them out! I ordered coffee w some hazelnut syrup and Jaqueline hooked me up with some cold foam on top which normally I'm not a fan off needless to say it was a great call on her part and I really enjoyed it! Everyone on staff was attentive kind and helpful. The place was clean and organized. They helped me checkout w Apple Pay and thankfully I got my biscuit fix which was great!

At 10:45 am on a tax free weekend there was about a 10 minute wait. As we waited for our food I noticed the line grew longer and even had folks waiting outside (in the summertime Texas heat). They use text to notify you when your table is ready with a " return to the host stand" text when they're prepping your table and another one to confirm the table is ready. We sat at the bar because of the shortage of tables. I really wanted to try one of the biscuit beignets, but it comes in an order of 4 which is too much for us. I had read another reviewer say they got a free order because it was their first time but no such luck with us, even when we just tried substituting a single beignet for our entree sides. Oh well. Rules is rules I guess. We got the seasonal soft shell crab scrambler with potatoes side and a hash brown Benedict with city grits which is an upgrade option for a few bucks more over their regular grits (comes with bacon, green onions and tomatoes). Their menu actually has a number of interesting off takes on the classic eggs Benedict. And while the variation we chose was good I'd probably stick with the classic next time. I had read some reviewers complain about the egg Benedict being overcooked but definitely not ours. The soft shell crab was also pretty good. And the omelet underneath has sausage bits which was nice. Jam selection is at the table and they have blackberry, strawberry and grape. We did like the decor there. The yellow just gave it a slight Mediterranean vibe. As we left tons of folks coming in. Good to see businesses thriving. Meal came out to just under $50, and that was without any drinks for either of us. As I've stated before, inflation these days is really putting a strain on the pocket book. But we gotta keep feeding the Yelp gods to maintain that Allstar status. ;)

Stopped by Another Broken Egg for a solo brunch date and honestly... this place understood the assignment. From the jump, the vibe was relaxed but polished--perfect for eating alone without feeling awkward or rushed. The space was bright, clean, and had that easy brunch energy that makes you want to linger just a little longer. The food? Solid. I went the savory route and everything came out hot, well-seasoned, and clearly made with intention. The potatoes were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside (as they should be), and the eggs were fluffy and flavorful without being drowned in nonsense. You can tell this is a kitchen that knows breakfast and doesn't need to show off about it. I also treated myself to a cocktail because... brunch. It was light, refreshing, and balanced--nothing too sweet, nothing too heavy. Basically the kind of drink that makes you sit back and say, "Yeah, I made the right choice today." Service was friendly and attentive without hovering, which I appreciate when I'm dining solo. I had everything I needed, when I needed it, and never felt forgotten. All in all, this was a really enjoyable brunch experience. Great food, good drinks, chill atmosphere. I'd absolutely come back--solo or with company. Sometimes you just need a good plate, a good drink, and your own peace, and Another Broken Egg delivered all three.

I've been to Another Broken Egg Cafe a bunch of times primarily in Austin and The Colony. This was my first time at this location. This time I wasn't impressed food-wise. I ordered the Floridan Omelette which is a cream cheese-filled omelette topped with garlic butter sautéed crab meat, Jack cheese and green onions. The crab meat was bland, I was expecting more flavor. The omelette was also just okay. The flavor was just bland overall. The hash browns wasn't salted which isn't a big deal to me, but it still wasn't anything to write home about. The English muffin was good. The presentation was good however. I also had the lemon berry mimosa. This is my go to drink here and this was very good as usual. I definitely recommend this mimosa. The service was average I don't recall my server ever checking in to see how my food was. She did check in to ensure if my muffin was toasted the way I requested it. I think after this visit I'm done with Another Broken Egg. There's too many really good brunch spots for me to have to settle with mediocrity in food and service.

Our first time in and on the weekends like any breakfast place it was crowded. We actually first went to First Watch to have brunch but the power was out! Welcome to Texas. So we drove down the highway and decided to try out this place since we were going to the golf shop a few doors down. Our wait was about 20 minutes and we had a friendly welcome and a super sweet waitress. But the service initially was slow but they were apologetic. We were offered some complimentary beignet donuts which were devoured since we had not eaten all morning. Our omelets were delicious but the goat cheese was really lacking so ask for extra goat cheese if you order the veggie omelet. I asked for avocado to top it off. The menu was vast and lots of specialty drinks were offered too. Overall I will probably be back when in the area but not on the weekend. Outside seating and a bar service available too.

Came here with a large group for breakfast. We did have to wait about 15 minutes for a table but the staff was super friendly and got us seated and drink orders taken quickly. Our food did take a little while to come out but going anywhere for breakfast on a Saturday morning we expected it. I ordered thw Floridian Omelet and while the crab sauce was pretty good there was little to no cream cheese in the omelet which would have helped to cut the richness of the sauce. Other people at our table also had some dishes that didn't quite hit the mark but the service was great and they have a lovely outside seating area with a beautiful fountain so I'd be willing to visit and try more of the menu based on our experience.

Kehmia T.

Came for brunch to catch up with a friend! Service - fast and pretty quick. They were quite busy that day but were still able to help us efficiently. Food was pretty good. I ordered the southwest scramble with a side of grits and and the buttermilk pancakes. Another quick little brunch spot for a quick bite.

Place was full on Saturday around 1:00 PM. We waited 15-20 minutes for a table for two. Pumpkin Spiced Pancakes ($14.99) The three pancakes, albeit not looking anything like the menu photo, were delicious. They were warm and lots of flavor. Wasn't huge on the fried sage but it was still a nice touch and could be easily picked off if they aren't your thing. The side sausages were warm and tasty, however, the side eggs came cold. Crab Cake Benedict ($16.49) Crab cake was not evenly salted and the hollandaise sauce was more a gravy in both texture and flavor. No lemon or sour/tang flavor. The poached eggs were also overcooked and I didn't get a yolk pop. These came with a side of potatoes which were good in flavor, but cold. Foodwise, it was a 3*. Pumpkin spiced pancakes and the sausage were good but the crab cake benedict was poorly done. Also, the eggs and potatoes coming to the table cold was not received well. -1 star for service. The server came to our table about 8-9 times to keep checking up on us. She also left the bill right after the food came, and even picked up the tipped bill right after I signed it, even before the food was done being eaten. The whole time, it felt like we were being rushed out the door, when our whole visit was 32 minutes which included the time it took for a busy restaurant to get our food out.

Raul B.

First time here. Got to restaurant around 1120 and it was busy for a Saturday. But it only took 5 minutes to sit us down. Sami G was our waitress and she was very knowledgeable about the food. Wife ordered the shrimp and grits and I ordered the biscuits and gravy. 2 stack of pancakes came with it. One thing I like I received military discount and to me it means a lot for my 24 yrs of service to this country. I will be back next time I am up in the area of Conroe/Woodlands area

There's a lot to choose from at Another Broken Egg. I had the Smoked Salmon Benedict with a Spiked Irish Coffee, and I enjoyed both of these dishes. Pairing Irish whiskey with coffee helps to mask the harsh whiskey aftertaste (what I imagine a sharpie marker tastes like) and create a satisfying alcoholic beverage. What holds this establishment back are the lackluster sides paired with the main dishes. I had the country potatoes and some grits, and both were unseasoned. Of course, they do have salt/pepper/hot sauce on all the tables so you can use them to drown out the unseasoned starchiness in these side dishes. But I'd rather just have them taste good to begin with.

Jonquil J.

It had been awhile since I've been to Another Broken Egg but I must say the food did not disappoint me. I ordered the lemon French toast with strawberry and blackberries it was amazing so light not overly citrus just the right amount of lemon. The bacon is always a good choice as well as the grits and eggs. The service was A1 she was very helpful with answering questions that we had about the menu. Ambiance was another broken egg very casual atmosphere I will try to do better and not take to long to return.

Fire alarm went off the entire meal. Not only was the alarm sounding but the lights would flash while alarm was ringing. There were four people in my group and none of us could eat our meals nor carry on a conversation. Management was not concerned about the distraction. In fact I asked for the manager and was given the cook who said it was managements responsibility and not his. I could not eat my meal and we're not compensated nor a simple apology would have been nice. We were here an hour and it went off entire time. Would not recommend! read more

Was there for mother's day. This place is usually very good. Although the service has always been somewhat slow the food makes up for it. However yesterday was horrendous. We had reservations and considering the covid situation and being mother's day the place was not crowded. we had one cup of coffee cause the server never came back to see if we needed a refill or anything else until she brought the check. it took literally 45MINUTES get our food and it was cold once we were served. We were hungry said screw it let's eat and never come back. read more

The last time I was here was with my best friend around August of last year when the Summer Olympics were playing. Food here is always good. This is one of those places that after you eat you need to hit the gym and then do a 5 mile run to work off all the calories. For some reason this place always has a hint of a British charm to me. Beautiful location and restaurant. I really liked the layout and different seating options. It's not overcrowded and I appreciated the space between tables. We sat on the patio and it was great. I wandered into this place while waiting for a rock chip to be fixed in my windshield. What a surprise! Creative menu -- both food and drink -- and superb service from Shelby. I get tired of the same old breakfast menus so I was surprised to see the creativity and variety at ABE. Add to that, the equally creative bloody mary menu and other adult drinks. FUN! Even the house coffee was robust and flavorful without being over-strong (and I like strong coffee). It will be a new go-to place for me whenever I'm in the area. Hopefully Shelby will be there to help me again. Thanks Shelby! read more

Ok this place is legit. If you are still going to Dennys or IHOP and missing out on this then you literally do not know what you are missing. We walked in and were greeted and seated instantly. I read to try the beignets and the waitress recommended them so we gave them a shot. Think donuts but use very soft biscuits instead and cover with powdered sugar and served with a side of marmalade. Very good. I ordered a vanilla cold brew ice coffee and the wife had a regular coffee. The ice coffee was a little weak for my taste but still delicious. My wife said the coffee was 'good'. I ordered the Bacquezo omelette with 'city' grits and it was very good. I am a bit of a grits snob and basically these are some of the best I have ever had. They add bacon and tomato to the grits and while the southern boy in me says no, my palette left saying hell yes. The grits were easily the best part of my meal. My wife had the Crescent city scrambler which was scrambled eggs stuffed with ham cheese bacon onion and mushrooms. She gives it an 8 on a 1 to 10 scale. The service was spot on with her being everywhere we needed her to be before we needed it. The drinks never got low and her suggestions paid off. Well done. We are already planning a return visit and who we are bringing back. Nicely done. read more

The setting and restaurant itself is very nice ! Waiter was great! The food was average. I ordered a fresh cup of coffee and it tasted burnt and old as if it was the first batch they made and left it sitting there for hours. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros with Chorizo and it was very blan. Didn't really taste like anything nor filled me up. Hardly any chorizo on it. I would not recommend that plate. I can't wait for Yelp to start adding negative numbers. Sometimes even zero stars is an incorrect reflection of an entity. And then efficiency as a category to scale. Yes, I am aggravated and it's due to unnecessary inefficiency of this place. I'm ok with it being busy. However, the downfall is in the extremely poor staffing. The inadequate number of servers assigned to sections bottlenecked the service and the ability to sear people and serve them in a timely fashion. Beyond 30 minutes to wait on a seat because someone in management is too cheap to adequately staff and keep more profits is no reason to lose business from people walking away because the wait is too long due to too few servers on the clock. There is potential here, however, the management needs to Get some education and your profits will rise. read more

FF to the bill: Almost $8 for one cup of coffee with a little bit of alcohol added?!! When I asked for an explanation as to how one cup of coffee went from $2+ to almost $8, she immediately went into her "moron" act and couldn't give me a reasonable explanation. Usually a good place to go for a great breakfast with efficient friendly service. Not so much so today. We did not get service after being seated until after going up front and mentioning we had been seated for 15 minutes. I grabbed a side of pancakes and bacon because I asked my honest waitress about a dish and she quickly gave me her honest opinion which I took. The basic dish was nothing groundbreaking, but also nothing tragic. Honestly, if someone messed up pancakes and bacon, I'd have to call the authorities. He was very welcoming, got us seated quickly, and even gave me a coloring sheet, which I genuinely appreciated. Unfortunately, our experience with our server, Brianna, didn't match the great first impression. I don't want to speak negatively about anyone, but the service and overall attentiveness could have been much better. We were ready to order when she came over, but instead of taking our order, she told us she was going to greet another table first. She then proceeded to greet not only that table, but another one that had arrived after us as well. About 10-15 minutes later, she finally came back to take our order. What was most frustrating was watching tables that were seated 30 minutes after us receive their food, finish eating, and leave before we did. Throughout the meal, several items we requested were forgotten. I asked for a to-go box three separate times, but it never came. By the time we had already paid, I gave up and just finished my food instead. One thing that also stood out was the interaction after we had paid. She suddenly became much more conversational, chatting and laughing with us after the check was closed. Throughout the meal, we also noticed her laughing and engaging with other tables while we struggled to get basic requests fulfilled. Because of that, the friendliness at the end didn't feel genuine it felt more like an effort to secure a larger tip than a reflection of the service we had actually received. I would have appreciated that same level of attentiveness and warmth throughout our dining experience. Overall, the host made us feel welcome and started our visit on a positive note, but the service unfortunately overshadowed the experience. Because of that, I don't see myself returning to this location.

THIS REVIEW IS FOR A SPECIAL EVENT: The Hawaiian Luau in September 2026…read more A Polynesian themed dinner, drinks, and entertainment sounds outstanding--let's go! Well, it started at 5pm. It's rather hot, traffic is bad, frozen drink machine (pins coladas) got filled at 4:59, it ended at 7:00 (why not start later, run longer, end later?). The buffett at Harrison's had the proper foods for this event, however for $75 per person, it's seriously over-priced. The bars outside had no tiki specials (mai-tai?, zombie? painkiller?) aside from the not-yet-ready frozen pina coladas). The worst part of the bar situation was the exorbitant prices. No-name wine for $23/glass??? Premium wine for $26??? Banquet/plain mixed drinks for almost $30??? That explains the extremely poor customer usage of the bars--virtually empty the entire time. This should tell management something about how they priced things. With reasonable pricing and themed drinks, they could have had a much better guest experience. The band and dancers did a decent job. They were definitely the most authentic part of the event. So, Woodlands Resort, if you were disappointed with the low number of diners and drinkers at the luau, it's the prices that you set that limited your purchases. It's a rich area, but we're not crazy rich.

Service was fantastic with our server (Will) being very knowledgeable and friendly. Drinks and food arrived quickly and were fantastic - the drinks were on point, the food ample in quantity and flavorful in taste. The Fudgy Brownie was divine! Well-done! As I mention above, the final tally was a bit shocking. Otherwise, a great place to hang out; planning to return to avail of the Mon/Tue $25 Wine and Bruschetta Board special.

[EDIT only to correct to "Postino"]…read more I use the one-stars sparingly, I really do. This has nothing to do with the food, as we never got that far in the course of my miserable experience at this location (not sure if it's a chain or not). Walked into a relatively quiet restaurant somewhat later in the evening after strolling a bit in the summer Houston heat around the Woodlands. A couple of people recommended Postino. The issue arose when I asked for a possible menu modification. Specifically, I was trying to avoid GOAT CHEESE on the meatball dish I had my eyes on (which otherwise looked pretty tempting). The server indicated that they probably couldn't do it but I nevertheless requested this... a couple of minutes later the server returned with the bad news. Apparently, it simply had to be served as-is, according to the menu. This in itself wouldn't have got me to the point of writing this review. However, I, incredulous, was kind of laughing (you have to laugh) and said something like "so I can only order exactly what's on the menu, and the kitchen can't do anything different?" (slight paraphrasing, perhaps). There wasn't much further conversation with the server but within about 30 seconds of this exchange, a "manager" stormed over to the table and borderline-abusively shouted "is there a problem?!". This "mini-manager" as I will refer to her, proceeded to inform me that they could NOT accommodate changes because it would "violate the integrity of the restaurant" ... I of course I also found a bit humorous, and in this state inquired further about what sense it made to be so obnoxiously strict for someone just trying to grab a quick bite about 30 minutes before closing. I'm sensitive to the work involved in running restaurants and serving obnoxious customers, but I was NOT rude, obnoxious, or difficult. Just blown away by this treatment. I was then informed by the mini-manager that she was from LONDON which I assume meant I should accept that her cosmopolitan background and (I assume vast and high-level culinary experience) meant that I should shut my trap and stop being so picky. At this point I was compelled to mention that I, too, grew up overseas and was very surprised at this complete lack of flexibility. Within another 30 seconds or so of this dialogue, the mini-manager tipped the menu over on the table and abruptly shouted, "you know what, I'm refusing you service!" That made it all easy from there as we promptly (while laughing, partly out of shock) exited the facility. Huge disappointment and embarrassing in my view for a restaurant that seems otherwise to have maintained a great reputation - and especially so for the fact that service (and people in general) in Houston tend to be kind and accommodating, not typically RUDE or reactionary. I'm encouraging this restaurant to have a look at the service model. I can't say I'll try Postino again the next time I'm in Houston, but I certainly hope it continues to truly earn its 4.5 star rating, 'cause they sure did NOT when I was there this weekend.

I was eager to try out a new breakfast spot, and upon arrival, I was promptly seated by a very attentive and kind waitress. Excited to explore their menu, I opted for the Pecan cold brew, which was delightfully delicious. However, my experience took a disappointing turn when I ordered the Chicken and Waffles. Despite its simplicity, the dish fell short of expectations. The chicken was disappointingly bland, and even the honey sauce couldn't salvage it. It felt like they merely slapped chicken strips onto the waffle, lacking the flavorful touch I had hoped for. I'm accustomed to enjoying seasoned chicken atop fluffy waffles, but sadly, this rendition missed the mark entirely. While my initial experience left much to be desired, I'm willing to give this place another chance in hopes of redemption. However, I'll be steering clear of the same dish next time around. read more

I had a wonderful experience at Another Broken Egg in The Woodlands! My cousin and I arrived around 1:00 PM and were seated immediately--seems we beat the rush. Our server, Abby, was fantastic. She was so friendly and witty, really making our visit special with her great service and positive attitude. As for the food, the beignets were amazing--perfectly sweet and easily my favorite. The Mardi Gras omelette was also great, with the andouille sausage adding a nice kick. The only downside was the potatoes, which were a bit dry, but it might've just been an older batch. My cousin loved the Cabaret French 75, and the mocktail menu had plenty of tasty options for non-drinkers like me. The atmosphere was cozy and family-friendly, making it a perfect spot to relax. My family and I went here on a Saturday morning to get a nice breakfast. This place exceeded expectations! I was eyeballing the Reuben on the menu and when I asked the waitress to name her favorites, that was one of them and so I went ahead and ordered it with fried zucchini and onion rings. The latter two fried things we both liked, the Reuben was just average, but the omelette was loaded with mushrooms and onions which helped make it taste good (the kitchen did a good job on that omelette to put lots of stuff on it and send it to the table looking substantial and tasty). Our hashbrowns were all different levels of doneness, but all were generally underdone, with my father's being pretty much uncooked and given a general sear. My own were lightly crispy, but the insides were somewhat raw. My mother's were at least almost completely done and had a decent crisp. I can say that at least the omelettes were alright; your standard omelette that you'd expect for a breakfast place to do. I enjoyed my omelette. Again, this place is good! I just don't know what happened this time. Perhaps there's a different chef in the kitchen. Our pancakes and biscuits/gravy from last time were quite tasty, though even then the biscuits were still pretty dry; the gravy helped though. Also, the inside looks absolutely adorable but whoever was managing the music had questionable choices... hard rock at 10 in the morning is a strange choice, even stranger is a bluegrass cover of Thunderstruck by AC/DC. It was all a bit strange and out of character for this restaurant. But I will say that Mikki was the one absolute good part, and I appreciated her service and attentiveness. Perhaps we'll come back again sometime and hopefully our preferred cook will be there.

After three visits, Compadres Texas Cafe has officially become my favorite breakfast spot in The…read moreWoodlands area. Jason ordered the Griddle Platter with a Belgian waffle, scrambled eggs, and bacon, and enjoyed everything. I ordered the Eggs Alone with two eggs, cheese potatoes, and a biscuit with gravy. The cheese potatoes were so delicious that I ate every last bite, then took my eggs and biscuit home. They reheated beautifully and made an equally delicious lunch. The portions are generous, the prices are reasonable, and breakfast is served all day. The service has been fast and genuinely friendly on every visit without ever feeling intrusive or bothersome. Compadres has the comfortable, homey feeling you hope to find in a locally owned Texas café. Their sweet tea deserves its own five-star review. I order mine without ice, and it tastes incredibly similar to the tea Grandma Lilley made in a pot with two full cups of sugar. It brings me right back to some of the peaceful parts of my childhood, which makes it far more than just another restaurant drink. Great food, wonderful service, and a mason jar full of nostalgia--we will absolutely be back.

A server came over quickly, the service was good, and my sweet tea was consistently refilled. The food was affordable as well, although I did notice some pricing discrepancies between the online menu and the actual menu. I came here based on the online pricing, so I was a little surprised. For example, the three-item breakfast burrito is listed at $6.99 online but is actually $7.99 in person. The chicken fried chicken is listed at $12.99 online, while the in-person menu lists it at $14.99 for a small and $17.99 for a large. I also noticed that the online menu says three eggs are included with the chicken fried chicken, but I didn't receive them. I'd recommend updating the online menu so customers aren't confused. That said, I still had a great experience! The chicken fried chicken was excellent, especially with the mashed potatoes and jalapeño gravy. The burrito was a little greasier than I prefer, but it was still good. I also noticed they sell pies and cookies, so I'll definitely have to come back and try those!
