Went in for breakfast and they wanted to seat us in a small room that had a large party, 12-15 people. Because of the noise, I requested a quiet booth just outside that room. We were seated and menus provided. All good...right? After 5 minutes no wait staff...10 minutes no wait staff. Other customers after us were seated and wait staff taking their orders. Got the strong feeling we were being ignored for not sitting where they wanted. Finally left letting the front desk know why we were leaving and received the response "no worries." Decided to try this place as I've had many people recommend it. My boyfriend and I went Saturday afternoon at 1 PM and had no wait. They take a lot of safety precautions and would sanitize areas, tables are spread apart, and staff are wearing masks. My boyfriend and I had their standard house coffee, I had the Hey Lucy Omelette and he had a waffle with strawberries and bananas on top. Our food was excellent and plentiful. Our waitress was very attentive as well. The decor was very homey, warm and inviting. The only drawback is with these four items we ordered plus tip, it came out to be $40. Visited this place on a Saturday around 8:30am and they started to take the waiting list, luckily their was two seats in the bar and we didn't mind sitting there. I have to say we are in the middle of our vacation and been eating a lot of unhealthy food so I tried to be healthy here which might be unfair to the establishment. I went with the veggie omelette which was average but that's what I expected. The goat cheese was a nice a touch. The biscuits are good but nothing special. My wife went with the skinny omelette which was also ok. I also had a side dish of sweet potato pancake which was really good and something new I have not tried before. Overall they have a huge menu with many yummy choices but due to feeling guilt went with the less exciting choices. Will definitely come back again. Also, I've had the pleasure of dining in at Another Broken Egg Cafe in Jacksonville, FL and the food is delicious! Beginning: As I opened the door to my new adventure, the hostess was on the phone taking an order. I waited about ten minutes before being seated. I could tell the hostess wanted to make sure to write-down the entire order correctly over the phone before greeting me. She was very pleasant when she asked how many were in my party and I happily answered "just me". I would like to go on record and say I always look at the menu on my phone or laptop a day before to ensure efficiency. Plus, if I wait I can get indecisive. Anyway, as I sat down I noticed the entire staff was wearing masks and gloves. Also hand sanitizer was provided for any guest in need. Begining: My server was named Lexy and she was an absolute treasure. I was honestly shocked by the questions she asked me in regards to my meal. Whenever I dine-in a restaurant, I appreciate hospitality with accuracy because modern day experience can feel rushed with no consideration. We did not have a lot of time to get lunch and this location is not fast food but we got served in good time predictably every time we went here. Never disappointed. The waiters are good and their ice coffees are yum! My only critique is that they put a little too much ice and not enough brew in them. Honestly, this is one of the best breakfast restaurants I've ever been to. The country grits were so amazing I wanted to cry. The chicken was slightly over cooked (it was kind of dry, but that's definitely better than undercooked), but that didn't take away from how amazing everything tasted and looked. What a great port in a storm (hurricane IDA). So glad we found them to be serving meals on our way to fly out, crazy heavy rain. Several alerts on all the cellphones in the place for tornado warnings and yet the staff kept smiling and serving. I appreciated the ability to get in line thru Yelp, walked right in and got seated. The scrambled meal was very good, no regrets. I must apologize to our server Cathy! I signed the credit card slip and started to walk out with the signed copy.
