We always eat breakfast somewhere when we are leaving the beach and landed on Broken Egg. The service was extremely slow and the waiter was extremely distracted with other tables the majority of the time. They were out of biscuits, waffles, and several other items which was disappointing for sure. We decided to stay and order anyway. My husband loved his power bowl. I had the Hey Lucy Omelette, with cheesy grits and a 1/2 order of the biscuit beignet . Another had eggs Benedict. Another had the cinnamon roll French toast and the fourth had the blueberry quinoa infused power bowl. The people were friendly. The food was delicious and we all left stuffed. One of us ordered the Belgian waffle and asked for melted butter instead of syrup. They brought out the waffle and a small silver bowl with little packets of butter. Ask again for melted butter and was told they couldn't put small packets in microwave. They then brought out another small bowl of butter still in packets that they put under a warmer, still not melted. By that time the waffle was cold and wouldn't melt the warmed butter!! Another lady ask that her city grits be hot when brought to the table. They were so what warm but cooled down quickly so not really hot to begin with. It took over 40 minutes to get our food and a another table that came in after us was served before we were. I brought my family here for brunch during our recent trip to Orange Beach. We got in late the night before and were hungry in the morning. I checked Yelp & saw the great reviews. We also really liked that we could join the waitlist right on Yelp from our condo and then head over to the restaurant. Quick and easy! When we arrived, it was a very short wait until our table was ready. Our server was awesome. He was very friendly and kept our coffee cups and water glasses full. He was busy with several other tables, but they were well paced so that he wasn't overwhelmed. The team here is doing a good job in keeping the restaurant running efficiently. I ordered the Bacquezo omelette because what could be better than bacon, cheese, and chorizo? It's also filled with cream cheese, and has garlic butter and green onions on top. OMG! This was heaven on a plate... so delicious. The chorizo provided the perfect amount of heat for me, but for people who don't like anything spicy, you may want to avoid this. My omelette also came with an English muffin and potatoes, quite a bit of food for the price. My wife had the Crab Cakes and fried green tomatoes, which she said was amazing and I'll admit, I had my eye on that crab cake. My son had the Broken Egg Biscuit Sandwich, which is basically a chicken tender with egg and sausage gravy on it He's a picky eater, but that plate was clean when he was done. This was a great experience overall, from the waitlist all the way to the end of the meal. I highly recommend Another Broken Egg Cafe. I will definitely be back. I was expecting to have a phenomenal breakfast like I got here the last time I was in Orange Beach. Everything from the rips in the seats of the booths to the care put into food prep and presentation would indicate lack of interest in the place. Don't get me wrong, the food was far from bad, just more like less than delicious. Coffee was lukewarm and not very strong. And the homestyle potatoes were so salty! Would I go back or recommend? She was very pleasant Ambiance: 7/10 when I first stepped in smelled a little old! But I figure it was due to us being so close to the beach and likely people are coming in from the beach. However, at the end of our meal I went to the restroom (mind you I typically do this before hand but failed to this time) the smell was in the bathroom which lead me to believe it was a sewer issue. ABE's food has never disappointed in any of the several locations we have visited, but today's dish was exceptional. The ambiance here in the OBA store is typical ABE, comfortable and pleasant (well except for the weirdly uncomfortable angle of the booth backs... we were graciously moved to a table). I've quit ordering restaurant and bar Bloody Marys as they are 90% of the time just bloody awful but having had a pleasant Bloody Mary at the Pensacola store before I decided to give it a try here and was not disappointed. Nothing that rolled my socks up and down but pleasant enough. The Mimosas, we both thought, were very good. We asked our server if fried green tomatoes could be substituted for the English muffin in the crab cake Benedict. No problem. And we asked for runny yolk poached eggs. We always share a Benedict and have learned to ask in order make sure the dish includes two portions. What came out was a thing of beauty. Perfectly fried FGT topped with crabcake, poached eggs, Hollandaise and garnished with colorful and flavorful chopped green onions and diced sweet red bell peppers. The egg was poached perfectly and the FGT and crab cake were both delish. The Hollandaise is advertised as andouille infused but neither of us could detect by sight or flavor anything other than a very mild Hollandaise. We both thought it would have benefitted from more lemon and some heat. But the whole thing came together very, very nicely. We went with the regular vs. the glorified City Grits and I am pleased to report that the regular grits are prepared here as God intended when He created them. What many (most?) restaurants even in the South do with grits makes the good Lord, and me too, very sad. The grits here are not a mailed in plate filler, but are done really, really well. Of course I still added more butter, and pepper. Duh. Whoever the cats are who are responsible for ABE recipe and kitchen quality control from store to store deserve a big round of applause. How disappointing. We had been to Another Broken Egg in another city and were really looking forward to trying this one. Unfortunately. this experience wasn't that good. The floors need to be swept.
