Went for a late breakfast and met up with a friend. Now with the rain. I wasn't expecting a long wait or many people there but I actually had a wait for a table of 10 minutes. Our server was very nice as personable, gave several recommendations as far as cocktails and entrees. I actually got his favorite, the Apple Fritter French Toast - comes with eggs and choice of meat and a strawberry mimosa. I also got a side of grits. Everything was delicious. My mimosa had plenty of champagne in it, but it was great pairing with my entree. The apples and blueberries were the stars with the french toast, because they had a caramelized rum butter coating on them and it was no need for me to use syrup. Also, this location actually has a bar off to the side, opposite of the table area. They also have a room for private small parties available at request. The chicken and waffles were good. The chicken could use more seasoning though. The beignets were good too with the jam it came with. Although the blueberry margarita was delicious I had an issue... we ordered a pitcher since it was 4 of us however the pitcher was small. Like how is the cup bigger than the pitcher (see image). The pitcher said 1 Liter but it had a lot of ice and the cups they gave us had ice in it as well. We asked our server if we could do individual instead; since we would not be able to get much out of the pitcher for 4 cups. She came back with the individual drinks but they were filled with ice. Like excessively in my opinion. Again the drink itself was really good but what's up with all that ice? I sense a small amount of passive aggressiveness but maybe that was just me. This was my first time visiting Another Broken Egg Café, and overall it was a mixed experience. We ordered huevos rancheros, the broken egg biscuit sandwich, the traditional day starter, and a few sides - French toast, bacon, and house sausage. I also tried the apple pie mimosa, which was really good! There was a wait, expected for a Sunday at Brunch time, but they ended up getting us seated earlier than quoted, which was a nice surprise. Staff were friendly, approachable, and answered our questions without rushing us. There were a few bumps with the food, though. Our French toast didn't come out with the rest of the order, and when it finally did, it was rock hard and pretty much inedible. They took it back and made a fresh one (which was delicious the second time), but the interaction about it was a little awkward. The person who came over (I think a manager) commented, "There was only one bite out of it so I believe you," which felt unnecessary. We also never got our side of potatoes, though they did take it off the bill without issue. Asked for hot sauce twice but it never made it to the table. Not a big deal, just noticeable. My friends had hyped it up, especially saying first-timers get a free beignet. The host even asked if it was anyone's first time, and we said it was mine, but no beignets appeared. I didn't mention it since there had already been a mix-up, but if that's not something they do anymore, probably best not to bring it up when seating guests. The atmosphere is nice - bright, clean, and very "classic brunch café" vibes. It does get crowded quickly, but that's kind of the nature of a good breakfast spot. All in all, the food (once fixed) was tasty, and the service was friendly, just a few hiccups in communication and consistency. I'd try it again, hopefully with smoother service next time! read more

We went to Another Broken Egg Cafe for Sunday brunch and joined the waitlist about 30 mins before getting there. Even after checking in, we still waited another 15 minutes to be seated as it was pretty packed around noon. They gave us a complimentary order of biscuit beignets since it was our first visit, which was a nice touch. The beignets were good, just a bit too heavy on the powdered sugar. For food, we ordered the Eggs Benedict and the Strawberry pound cake French Toast with orange juice. Unfortunately, both were underwhelming. The Eggs Benedict was quite bland, and the orange juice tasted more bottled than fresh. The potatoes that came with eggs Benedict were okay but nothing great. The French toast looked amazing when it arrived but didn't taste as good as it looked - definitely below average. Tried another broken egg cafe for the first time! Originally just went to sip on a Bloody Mary, we got a pitcher and it was perfect for 2 people. Jackson was our bartender and he made sure we had a good experience from beginning to end! We were greeted with some yummy beignets to start. I couldn't stop eating them and almost filled up before even starting my meal. For my meal I got Smoked Salmon Benedict. It was fantastic, the capers are a really nice touch on this dish and the eggs were poached to perfection. My partner got the Southwest Scrambler, he said it was really good. I was looking for a breakfast-y restaurant in the area while I was running errands and I'm so glad I decided in this place. I visited New Orleans for the first time earlier this year and I already miss it, so I was sold when I saw some New Orleans themed dishes on the menu. The Bourbon Street Pancakes were the best pancakes I've ever had in my life. When they server set them down, she exclaimed "aren't they beautiful?". Yes, but the smell! They smelled so good. Usually, I eat all the rest of my breakfast first and save pancakes for a reward at the end, but I dug straight into these. The homemade sausage patties were good too. They were a little bit spicy and perfectly griddled. The eggs were a little too soft-scrambled for my taste but I didn't have room after all those pancakes anyway. They had plenty of other delicious-looking menu items including a large brunch cocktail menu. The decor was beautiful and you definitely get that southern vibe. Really well cooked and delicious. The service was excellent and attentive. So today brought my wife here for breakfast. I ordered the same breakfast item. It was cold. Eggs were cold, hollandaise sauce was cold. Service was poor. Took forever to get our coffee. And the meals were served so slowly. I'm not sure if this is an isolated incident. But I feel quite disappointed that I had talked up this place to my wife. And came back and had a totally different (bad experience). On top of that, our table had not been cleaned when we were seated and no cleaning was done before serving the food. I am pretty disappointed I believe this is a management problem. read more

Running my weekend errands & taking a well-earned brunch break. It's 30 minutes until closing and the 82nd St. location is bustling. The bar (which boasts accessible seating) has most seats filled. The conversations are not overly noisy and you can still hear the upbeat soundtrack in the background. It feels totally comfortable eating alone here (why I keep coming back). I have been at Another Broken Egg before and found it to be charming and welcoming. It still is I have an allergy to SOY. FYI, it causes me to get I'll, sometimes for several days. To be sure on this visit, we asked if they use soy in their product. Much to our surprise the waiter returned from the kitchen with this comment, " I just talked to the chef. We use SOY in everything. It is even in our eggs. They only thing we can offer you is lettuce." Talk about surprised. The waiter compd our small check for coffee and fruit. This is one of my favorite places to go for brunch! Me and my friends were out celebrating one of my friends birthday and as usual the food did not disappoint. Usually the place is insanely packed but we lucked up and it was actually pretty empty. We walked in and was seated immediately which not what I typically experience. This was my first time at this location though and maybe this one just is not as busy. We lucked up and they brought us some of those beignets biscuits which were fabulous and fully covered with powdered sugar. We also ordered a pitcher of the blueberry lemon mimosas and it is definitely my favorite flavor they have. I had the poached veggie Benedict with city grits and it was heaven! The eggs were cooked to perfection and the tomatoes came out thick and crisp, not soggy which was a huge plus. My friend ordered the French toast and the other ordered some sort of seafood omelette which she said was divine. Based on how the service, and less chaotic it was as inside I would definitely recommend this location over the other one. What made it even better was it was quiet since it wasn't over crowded and even though we stayed until closing (unintentionally) they didn't make us feel rushed at all. Matter of fact the waitress kept coming by and giving us water and checking in on us. It wasn't until we happened to check the time did we realize they were closed. I've driven by this location for years now and have never stopped in. I took advantage of meeting a friend for breakfast and selected here. The space is bright and welcoming. Our server was very attentive and let us enjoy the catch up time. I opted for the smoke salmon Benedict - yum. I've been to four different locations and this place is *always* good. Their food is so flavorful with a diverse range of options. There's always a beautiful presentation, great service, and prices are reasonable. I'm glad there's so many of these around because it's becoming one of my favorite brunch options. I am writing to express my disappointment with a recent experience at your restaurant. While we were visiting from out of town, we chose to treat our children to breakfast at your location based on previous positive experiences at other Another Broken Egg Café restaurants. Unfortunately, the portion sizes and value we received were extremely underwhelming. One of my children ordered the Belgian waffle, which consisted of a single waffle roughly the size of a softball. Despite requesting whipped cream on the side, it was not provided. My other child ordered the buttermilk pancakes and received three small pancakes, each approximately the size of a baseball. For these two items alone, we were charged $12 and $11, respectively. We also substituted a side with City Grits, which cost $6 and was served in a very small cup--barely three spoonfuls. The total for this modest meal came to $32, and none of us felt satisfied with the portions provided. We rarely dine out, and this was meant to be a special treat for our children while traveling. Unfortunately, the experience left us feeling frustrated and disappointed. While we understand pricing may vary by location, or cost of food overall has increased but nonetheless the value for what we received did not justify the cost. I hope you will take this feedback seriously and consider how portion sizes and service might better reflect the expectations your brand has established elsewhere. read more

How did I not know this location was there? I frequent this area all the time and somehow I missed that this location opened up. Funny thing, I was actually on my way to another breakfast place (which shall remain unnamed for now) and my husband actually pointed it out so we did a U-turn and went back. This is one of our fav's so I was happy to try out this new location. It is located in a strip mall and doesn't really stand out which is how you could miss it. There is plenty of parking so no issues there. We arrived around 10:00 on a Sunday and there was no wait. Whenever we go to the one on Meridian or in Fisher we ALWAYS have to wait so that was a treat for sure. Our server was very soft spoken and it was pretty loud in there so it was really difficult to hear her but she was very nice. She asked if it was our first time which we said yes at this location, she said they were giving away free begets when it is your first time, so again another treat that we weren't expecting. If I say anything I would say the pricing seems to be a little off. I noticed in another review someone commented the same thing so I must be correct on that. So a waffle (no sides just a waffle) is $12.59 or something like that, but if you order Chicken and Waffle the price is like $13.00, maybe I'm off but that doesn't seem right to me. I also don't recall waffles being almost $13 at the other locations. Perhaps the cost of goods have increased but seems just a little off to me. My husband ordered a club sandwich which came with a side of potatoes and an iced old fashion which he said both were very good. Our bill came up to around $45 which is a little pricy for breakfast, especially since I had water to drink. Everyone was very cheerful and the place was clean. Music was good, not too loud although for some reason it felt very loud with voices. Not sure if it's just the way it's set up but voices seem to really carry there. Happy this place is here. After my first visit to Another Broken Egg Cafe last Sunday, in that case the North Meridian location, I decided this Sunday to check out the newest spot here at 82nd and Allisonville Road in the spot vacated by Panera Bread in favor of their new spot a little further west where they can say "We're open but we don't actually serve anyone." Fortunately, this is not true for Another Broken Egg Cafe, an Indy-based mini-chain locally owned and operated by Rootstock Hospitality Group emphasizing the breakfast, brunch, and lunch groove with products sourced by local purveyors and partners. Another Broken Egg Cafe offers ordering online, dining in, delivery, pick-up, and some outside dining options. I would dare say this is a slightly nicer location than North Meridian. This makes sense since it's much newer. It's in a weird corner spot and doesn't have parking directly in front of it, however, there's ample parking all around including some accessible parking over in front of Aldi's directly next door. Curb cuts are appropriately done here. As it's right on a corner, you do have to be a little careful with traffic. There's a double-entry. The doorways are generally workable, though perhaps a little heavy for those with limited upper-body strength. As you enter, there's a hosting station, a bar to the right (they do actually serve some signature cocktails. I was impressed that there are two wheelchair friendly spots at the bar - this came in handy as they were full when I arrived and I was able to take a spot at the bar. The dining room is simply decorated yet warm and inviting. There seems to be some emphasis on social distancing, though it's done rather fluidly. My server was also the bartender, Raven. She was tending to anyone at the bar and seemed to make all the drinks for the restaurant. She was friendly and helpful. I would say maybe I felt a bit rushed, though it's noteworthy that the customer flow was steady here and I arrived only minutes before a decent rush. I ordered the same thing I ordered last time - Classic French Toast with house-made sausage and potatoes. I ordered my usual unsweetened iced tea. The food was nicely made up. It had a better presentation than my first experience, though taste was almost exactly that of the North Meridian location. I still say these are probably the best house-made sausage patties I've had at a breakfast joint in Indy. The food was delicious and I would easily order it again. The bill came in at right around $16 without tip. I did get my always desired refill. I will admit I wondered if it was going to be offered (failure to do so is automatic loss of a star. Yes, it's that important to me.). This seemed a touch higher in price than North Meridian, though maybe I'm just not remembering right. There seemed to be solid teamwork here. Folks got along. My food was delivered by someone other than Raven while Raven worked with everyone else on drinks and they had quite the effective system in place. Overall, this was another solid visit and makes me glad I finally discovered Another Broken Egg Cafe. I will admit I would probably go 4.5 on this one if I could, however, I'm deferring upward since the service was solid, the food was great, and I appreciated the attention to accessibility. The accessible spot at the bar was nice - perhaps a bit tight considering it's two spots and wheelchairs tend to be wider, however, it worked nicely. My wheelchair is a bit lower than most and that made me a bit lower at the bar, however, it seemed to be at a good height overall. The dining room itself also has plenty of accessible options. This was a terrific experience. At this price point, it likely won't be a regular stop on my rotation but on a semi-regular basis I see myself treating myself to this warm, hospitable, and locally owned restaurant. read more
