I was super excited to see Another Broken Egg on the East Coast! The food was just as I remembered, and it was definitely busy for a Sunday morning around 10:30 AM. The wait was about 20 minutes, and the bar, booths, and tables were all full. Just a heads-up: there is a 2-hour seating limit, and the high-top booths are a little tight when squeezing in and out. That said, our waiter was attentive and quick to take our orders, which made the experience smooth despite how crowded it was. The French toast was amazing--definitely a standout. The salmon Benedict was also really good and full of flavor. The grits were just okay. I ordered the gouda grits with bacon, but it didn't seem like either ingredient was actually included since neither was recognizable in the dish. The Spring Hugo Spritz was light and refreshing and paired nicely with brunch. I'd definitely come back to try the lemon blueberry goat cheese pancakes and some of their specialty coffee drinks!

summary: a solid brunch spot that offers a pretty standard suburban brunch experience and delivers. Another Broken Egg cafe offers a menu with seasonal specials and drinks and breakfast/brunch options that you'd expect to find at a suburban breakfast spot. I don't mean that as a ding. The prices on the menu feel like they're on the rather high side, but I think it's still on par with the other breakfast spots in the area. My only thing is that I would love to see a kids' menu of some sort. The food that did come out was tasty and well balanced. Service was nice and timely (went on a Friday a little before lunch time). They have outdoor patio seating although there's not too much to look at because it's located in a business park off of a pretty busy road. All in all, positive experience!

Visiting Maryland and decided to check Yelp for a review for a decent brunch spot and we came upon this location. It seemed like a chain but it didn't feel like it. We were seated quickly and attended to by our waiter. He answered our questions and recommended options for a couple of our pickiest eaters. As for me, the gluten-friendly pancakes were an awesome surprise! I enjoyed them as well as my traditional breakfast. The decor was light and airy and welcoming. We were glad to have gone.

I had a friend in town visiting and we were looking for a nice brunch, so we tried Another broken egg Cafe. The food was delicious. Wait time a bit long 45 mins to an hour but they text when your table ready. I love unlimited mimosas which they dont offer but you can get a pitcher. Our waiter wasn't the best. The music was nice. I had just seen Bruno Mars in concert the night before and loved hearing a few of his songs playing. Overall I would visit again.

With this being, like my 30th time coming to ABE I don't know how many more ways to compliment them. Having not visited for a while, the wife and I decided to stop by and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I got the biscuits and gravy, which were delicious and she got the cinnamon roll French toast which she enjoyed. We got a couple of bells and whistles - cheese grits, potatoes, and spiked drinks - maple bourbon coffee. Our food came out fairly quick, the service was really good and although it was crowded, the environment felt controlled, organized and pleasant.

I came here for a solo brunch before the snow came! I've been wanting to try this place for a while, just never got around to it. I initially got on their waitlist (which you can do via their website), but when I arrived there were a few empty seats at the bar, so I opted to sit there. The waiter was fast and efficient with taking everyone's orders. I ordered the apple fritters French toast breakfast with sausage, scrambled eggs with cheese, and an Irish coffee! The highlight of the meal was definitely the sausages and that coffee, so good! I'll be back for more, lol. The place was packed when I came, but it's a nice size and kind of gives a New Orleans/Southern vibe. The other customers were also really nice, I met two lovely ladies at the bar who were dining solo as well.

Crab Benedict I Cynivised it by adding the potato hash croquette instead of English muffins. The potatoes were undercooked in both croquettes. The crab was so old it smelled and was visibly grey. Yes I told the waitress the food was old. Not sure she heard me as no other options were offered and still charged me for the bad inedible food. The hollandaise tasted more like white gravy, just bland and flavorless. The grits Were decent cheesy grits. Bourbon Street Pancakes I'm not a fan of brown bananas they always have a distinct taste, Especially since this an easy kitchen fix. The pancakes tasted like box mix. I had heard such good things about this place and was very disappointed that this was my experience. While it didn't feed my soul, maybe it feeds yours??

There's a lot to like about this place, but there's definitely room for improvement--particularly when it comes to service. We stopped by on New Year's Day for brunch. My wife ordered the fried chicken biscuit with a poached egg, and I ordered the farmer's omelet (no mushrooms) along with a short stack. We also ordered beignets. Unfortunately, my omelet came out with mushrooms, even though the modification was clearly stated and repeated when the order was taken. By the time the mistake was addressed, I was already halfway through my short stack and didn't want to wait for a remake, so I let it go. What stood out to me, though, was that no manager or chef came by to acknowledge or apologize for the error, which was disappointing. Service overall felt inconsistent. The restaurant appeared both overstaffed and understaffed at the same time--there were plenty of people walking around, but very little awareness of tables that weren't "theirs." We sat for a good portion of the meal with empty water glasses, and no one checked in. I believe service works best when it's approached more as a team effort: even if there's a designated server per table, everyone on the floor should be paying attention to guests and stepping in when needed. The lack of management involvement was also concerning. Beyond losing a sale that day, situations like this risk losing repeat customers and, of course, result in reviews like this one. A simple acknowledgment from management would have gone a long way. That said, the food itself is good, and I think most people will enjoy what they order here. With some focused improvements in service and guest engagement, this place could be much better.

My cousin had reservations here for 12 of us on Saturday. They called a little before we arrived to see if we were coming because we were running a few minutes late. She confirmed we were 10 minutes away. We arrived and were greeted. It was pretty crowded but, our table was available. It ended up being 9 instead of 12 and they had no problem with that. 3 of us arrived 1st and then the other 6 a few minutes later. We were given menus. By it being pretty crowded it took a lit bit for us to place our order but, that was no problem because we had ran a few minutes late. Our orders were taken. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. Everyone received just what they ordered. I ordered the fried chicken blt with fried onions instead of pickled onions and I got fried potatoes with it and a side of bacon. I ordered a drink. It was called brunch blueberry margarita. I didn't care much for the drink. When my food arrived I couldn't believe the side of the chicken sandwich. It had 4 tenders on it. The season was a little bland but, I still enjoyed it. The potatoes was delicious and the bacon EXCELLENT. My cousin introduced us to the owners wife and daughter before we left. They were very pleasant and thanked us for coming. As we were in the car to leave my cousin saw the actual owner and introduced us. He too, was very pleasant and thanked us for coming. I wouldn't mind coming back here to dine. Keep in mind they only open from 7am until 2pm. Give them a try if you're in the area.

We stopped in around 7:20 AM, just after they opened, and had a great experience from start to finish. Stiven was our server and made us feel welcome right away when we mentioned it was our first visit. I ordered the Hey Lucy omelette with a side of grits and coffee, while my husband went for the bacon burger with home fries. I couldn't resist adding the bourbon pancakes -- and wow, everything came out hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The flavors, presentation, and service were all on point. I even called my brother afterward to tell him about it -- and we don't even live in the area! A great breakfast spot worth the visit.

Stopped by for an impromptu brunch. The food was ok. Tasty but not spectacular. Our waiter was nice but we had to keep reminding him of missing items. It offers indoor and outdoor dining. I would try it again.

Do yourself a favor and try this place out! We made a reservation but it was super busy, so we would up sitting at the breakfast bar area. Service was great and the food was even better. They have so many options and everything sounded delicious. We'll be back to try more!

A regular brunch rotation for the family. Super friendly service, great food, nice open and bright dining room. We've tried a bunch of different items but today we got the pancake stack and the Louisiana Quiche from the seasonal menu. Pancakes are perfect - fluffy and tasty. The quiche was good but needs a bit more seasoning. Like it's right there.. just needed one more dash. The etouffe that accompanies was pretty bland too but nothing a little salt couldn't fix. I'm glad I tried it.

Tip: pack your patience…read more I've been wanting to try Cafe Columbia since I heard they have the option to add ice cream to the crepe. Ice cream with crepes are one of my favorite type of crepes, and that's exactly what I ordered; a crepe with ice cream. I walked in and the cafe was bustling with people enjoying their meal, and the workers preparing meals. It was a full house, however, I was able to grab a table for two. French Toast Crepe: this simple yet tasty crepe fit the bill. It had cinnamon flavor with whipped cream and I opted for a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It didn't come with fruit which I will add next time (yes, there will be a next time). Belgium Waffle: another simple item yet the batter was better than I expected. It didn't come with toppings. It came with a lite dusting of powdered sugar and came with room temperature butter. Chai Latte: this was good on the first sip. It seemed watered down and I would have preferred more flavor. Then again, I'm not a regular drinker of chai latte, and my daughter seemed to enjoy it. So don't count this out. When we ordered the staff gave us a disclaimer the crepe would take about 25 minutes. I didn't mind at the time. It took longer than that; however, I could see the workers constantly working on preparing meals so it didn't bother me. We got the waffle about 25 minutes later so we decided to share both the waffle and crepe. The crepe came out about 20 minutes later. The cafe has a well thought out layout. It has tables on each side, a reading area, and an area with complimentary water next to the coffee/tea station. The little station has water, cups, sugar, napkins and creamer (not pictured because it was packed and constantly occupied). On the other side you'll find more tables, the restrooms, and an ostracized nook that had someone in there occupying the chairs for what seemed like quiet time. Customer service is good. Parking is free in a huge parking lot for the business building. The cafe is located at the front of a shared business building. The menu has a variety of waffles with and without fruit options; crepes made either savory or sweet; and coffee drink options. There is an ice cream bar for scoops of ice cream or milkshakes; and lastly some fruit cups. Overall, I enjoyed the cafe and plan to add it to my list of favorites.

They had many empty tables in a busy Sunday morning. They told us they are so busy they need to let the kitchen "catch up". An hour after getting there we were seated. When they brought out the food (which took 5-10 minutes of one or two dishes at a time for 5 people) they came out with several wrong items. The waitress checked on us to make sure that we finally got everything but it was before we got to eat so we thought everything was ok. Turns out my daughter asked for no cheese in her dish but we couldn't get the waitress back until the rest of us all finished our food to tell her the meal had cheese. Additionally my poached eggs were extremely undercooked. They took my daughter's meal off the bill but at that point she didn't want a replacement. This place needs better kitchen and staff communication. They need to be able to handle a busy Sunday morning since it's a brunch place it should be expected to be busy.

Eggspectation - Merriweather District…read more My first visit to Eggspectation and it made a strong first impression. Located in the ever-growing Merriweather District, parking can be a bit of a mixed bag. There's a nearby surface lot that fills up quickly, but a larger parking garage within easy walking distance that makes things manageable--and a bonus for EV drivers, with multiple charging stations that are available. Just plan ahead, especially on weekends or when events are happening at Merriweather Post Pavilion. The space itself is modern and thoughtfully designed. One side of the dining room features floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the space with natural light and offers peaceful views of Symphony Woods--a perfect backdrop for a relaxed meal or a little people-watching. There's also a covered outdoor patio that looks especially appealing for warmer days. Service during our lunch visit was excellent. Ethan struck that ideal balance--friendly, attentive, and accommodating without hovering. He handled menu questions with ease and was happy to make a few substitutions without hesitation. A seasonal spring menu is currently available, but the full menu being offered all day is a nice plus. We started with the Ginger Zinger--refreshing with just the right amount of zing. I went with the veggie omelette, customized to my liking, and it delivered: perfectly cooked and packed with fresh mushrooms, spinach, and asparagus. The Lyonnaise potatoes were flavorful, and the lightly dressed salad rounded out the plate nicely. My friends both ordered the Eggspectation breakfast sandwich, stacked high with thick-cut bacon and presented beautifully. Portions across the board were generous--we expected leftovers, but between the good food and even better conversation, most plates were nearly cleared. Prices lean toward the moderately expensive side, but that's fairly standard for this area--and the quality justifies it. If you're looking for a quieter experience, weekdays are your best bet. It's also a great spot to unwind after a walk around the nearby lakes or wooded paths. While there is ongoing construction in the area, the restaurant itself is well insulated from the noise. Overall, a very solid first visit. I'd gladly return to explore more of the menu.
