We were seated immediately and brought menus. Our waiter, Aiden, came with water and to take drink orders very soon after. Food came out timely and such lovely presentations. My friend had a lunch duo of half a chicken salad sandwich that looked scrumptious, and she said it was. Paired with chicken tortilla soup that she said was good, but with a consistency more like chili than soup. I had a southern fried chicken salad which was enormous. The greens were crisp, the tomato and red onion slices firm and tasty, the chicken was fried to perfection and not at all greasy, and the sliced hard-boiled egg topped it nicely. It comes with honey mustard dressing, but I'm sure you could sub something else as it's on the side. We each had a mug of decaf after, and my bill was only 21.97 excluding tip. I brought half the salad home, so that was a very reasonable price for two meals! May I add, several reviewers have commented that it's pricey. Came in for brunch on Sunday. Joined the wait list before we got there which was clutch bc it was a 30 min wait. We split pancakes. We got a breakfast chicken sandwich which was fried chicken over medium egg and pimento cheese on a biscuit. Very good. Also go th southwest scramble. The potatoes on the side were a bit oily. The service was great and our food came out quickly. It was hot and everything i had was delicious. The cheese grits just needed salt and pepper but they had a good amount of cheese. The lemon pound cake French toast had this caramelization that added to the great taste. The blackberry mule they recommend to pair with it was good just didn't taste like any alcohol in it. My family got a gift card that we decided to use last week and man did the is experience change my mind. It was my parents first time here, we live 40mins away.. they are itching to come back. Heres what we got: Southwest Scramble- chorizo, peppers , onion, scrambled egg with side guac and salsa. Absolutely delicious and huge portion. Side of City Grits was really good! Lemon pound cake french toast - it's a beefed up lemon pound cake! Dessert for breakfast. Mom was very satisfied Apple fritter french toast- I havent seen my dad have such a visceral reaction to a dish in a while. He couldnt stop talking about this one.. they fought for the last bite! And the mardi gras omelette- tasty.. stuffed with the ingredients. Dad's only critique was the sausage could have been cut smaller. My only critique was that we ordered the biscuit beneigts - they never came (and I'm glad they didn't), but we missed that it was still included on the tab. While searching for a brunch spot nearby, I came across this gem. (: The atmosphere is cozy, clean, and cute! The staff were friendly, and the service was terrific. All the food that I tried was excellent, besides the turkey bacon. The turkey bacon was overcooked, so it gave that rubbery texture. We went here on a whim based on what was in the area. The place is pretty big with lots of seating. Service was great. Our server was really nice and attentive. I got the fruit and honey waffle which comes with eggs and a choice of meat. The honey sauce was very sweet and was not what heavier in texture than I expected. Their breakfast sausage is said to be homemade. It was really good! Possibly my favorite thing that we got. My fiance got the lobster and Brie omelet with a side of Bourbon Street pancakes. We, a party of 3, unknowingly went on opening weekend for brunch, so issues are sure to come up. Here is our timeline: We got there around 9:45, got seated at 10:45 (after being told the wait would be about 10-15 minutes). Ordered within 20 minutes of sitting, but didn't get our food until 90 minutes later. At that point, we just asked for containers to take home the food. Everyone ordered a hot chocolate, none of which were even warm. We decided to stay and wait since we understood there will be lots of thing to learn for the staff but, boy, was it a mess. The servers didn't know what was going on. The manager looked liked he was trying to blow out fires left and right. I must say, it is not ideal to go to a place with "gluten friendly" on the menu and not have the server understand the severity of food allergies. My partner and I have visited this place, Another Broken Egg Cafe a few times and it's a pretty good spot. It had a pretty cool look to the place, fun, relaxed but somewhat modern. The service is usually pretty good as it was this time. Only a slight delay between menus and taking orders. I ordered the Sunrise Spinach Scramble and it was good, not amazing. It has spinach, onion and bacon mixed in with the egg topped with some cheese. The flavor was a little one sided with the bacon taking the lead, maybe too much bacon overpowering the rest of the flavors. Not bad but could have a better balance. We also got the biscuit beignets and they are amazing! A must add on to any breakfast here. The side of fruit was okay, the grapes were nice and ripe. DO NOT VISIT unless you enjoy hair on your plate, unapologetic management, seasonless food, and an awful encounter with the rude and off putting owner. I ordered chicken and waffles and Louisiana gumbo. The plate with the chicken and waffles had hair on it. I sent that back only for it to return with the same chicken and a cool waffle (the chicken tender was semi broken so I know it was the same chicken). The manager took the chicken and waffles off the bill but still charged for the Louisiana gumbo. My partner ordered an omelet which lacked in season and was very very bland in taste. My partner talked to the owner who was very offensive and dismissive and lack accountability for such an awful experience. The very sad and unfortunate part of this all is it is a black owned establishment. This is definitely not a place to spend your money! If I could give this place 0 stars I would! We took my mother out for her birthday and she ordered the chicken tortilla soup. When she got her meal, after a few bites she found shrimp in the soup. Before grabbing our waitress , Yasmin, attention we looked on the menu to see if it was the written in the listed items of the dish. It was not. We got the attention of our waitress and informed her she immediately told us that it should not have shrimp in and apologize and grabbed a new soup for us. When we got the new order of chicken tortilla soup, we were under the impression that this was a new batch because it came out steaming hot along with the waitress returning back saying we would have a completely new soup. As my mom was getting ready to try the soup, mid bite my sister caught another piece of shrimp in my mother's soup. I asked a hostess if she could grab the manager for us. After seeing this, I spoke with a man that introduced himself as the Owner of the restaurant. He started by saying we are "overwhelmed so what can I do for you?" I informed him of everything that happened and he went to double check with the head chef if there is suppose to be shrimp in the soup. Honestly I thought that was strange because how are you the owner and do not know what items are in what, but I have that a pass because that's fair to not know every single item. When he returned he said "we're overwhelmed in the back, what can I do for you ?" My mother requested that he throw out the batch. After that the owner became very hostile and unprofessional. It was very disheartening seeing this behavior from the owner. The professional thing that he should have done was apologize on behalf of the kitchen and say it was thrown out. As a healthcare worker, shell fish allergies are something that should not be taken lightly. God forbid there was someone there with a shellfish allergy and actually had a reaction. That was the whole point and when it was presented to him he was very dismissive of it. I would never eat here again. First and last time. While nothing I've had there has been outstandingly remarkable, I will say that their strawberry shortcake French toast is noteworthy while it could use more strawberries in my opinion.
