I can't say enough about this LOVELY cafe!! The menu is so unique and outstanding. Apple Fritter French Toast, Bourbon Street Pancakes, Lobster Brie Omelette, Salmon Eggs Benedict and Biscuit Beignets are a few of the delicious items. My daughter has Celiac so she has to be gluten free, and this restaurant offered a big gf selection including lemon blueberry goat cheese pancakes and eggs Benedict! Our server Rod was amazing and made great recommendations. One of them was the bacon, which is baked not fried and is amazing. I often eat at the cafe in Greenville and always enjoy it. I decided to visit the one in Columbia and was quite disappointed. However, the waitress was very nice and appreciative of our patience which was nice. The salted caramel spiked coffee was delicious but it did take a while before I got it. The food took at least 25 minutes and when it did come out, only part of it came. The chicken piccata Benedict took much longer and was extremely salty. It was also evident that they don't wash their fruits seeing as we saw a bug crawling in the bowl ($4.50 for fruit seems a little ridiculous to me in the first place). They were nice enough to take the Benedict off of our bill but it was still an unpleasant experience and we probably won't be back anytime soon. read more

We waited over 90 minutes for a table. When we sat down, we informed our server that we were ready to order. We waited another 40 minutes and our food NEVER ARRIVED! We needed to leave in order to catch a flight. This was an absolutely horrible experience with very poor wait times. Another Broken Egg Cafe has become our newest favorite breakfast spot! It gets busy on the weekends but it's worth the wait! Our go tos are: any of the omelettes, the pancakes, the potatoes (my favorite in Columbia), and the beignets. Michelle has been our server and she is personable, warm and all around a great server. It is definitely a hip place! The staff is very cool and got good vibes. I have been twice. The food is good! The side potatoes are yummy! I love the sauce they come with. My only downside was the after effects of the huevos rancheros. They are good, don't get me wrong. However, they leave a lingering taste for hours after. Placed an order about 15 min after they opened. I had 4 different orders and arrived 20 min after placing the order. My wife walked inside to pickup the food and the host told her it wasn't quite ready. Several other patrons came in to pickup food while she was still waiting. A Uber eats driver actually picked up two separate orders while we are still left waiting on our food. An hour has gone by since my wife had first walked in to pickup our food. She became tired of waiting and asked if we could just have a refund and cancel the order. She was shot down and was told the food was coming. After waiting 1.25 hrs we get our food and head home. The poached eggs on my eggs Benedict were basically boiled eggs. Grits were cold. Pancakes were cold. I was unimpressed with the bad service and food. read more

Came out for breakfast as I usually do on a Sunday morning. I usually come and have no problemsWith service. But today it was horrible my server didn't wait on me at all . He kept walking by my table not checking to see if we need anything . He did not check on us and see if we had our food. Then when the order came out it was wrong 3 times might I add . Server still hasn't came back to the table when he finally did he had an attitude. I ask for the ticket and a tea to go he walked away and took another 30 minutes before he came back. Service was very bad today. Just really disappointed in the Columbia's restaurant. Management needs to do a better job at monitoring this site. Outside tables and chairs were dirty; trash was over the entire outside area. They had a HUGE horse dog running around other tables that made people uncomfortable! Cleaning spray was sprayed on me and also my friends food! We received an apology from the waiter and a $3.$$ employee discount. Management never came out to speak with us about destroying my girlfriends last bits of her meal. Just sorry for the experience. The manager was very professional and reached out to me directly, so that they could work on rectifying the issue. Unfortunately, I was deeply saddened by the fact they were sold out of the French roast cold brew. Like how do you run out of coffee... at a breakfast establishment.
