This restaurant like many in our area need better management. We joined the online waitlist. Which stated 35-50 minutes. We arrived within 10 minutes of joining the online waitlist to notify hostess. She told us 30 minutes and showed me the list. There were a few groups ahead of us. We went outside to wait with several other people. Several people came to check wait and all left as she was telling them an hour and half wait. After 30 minutes, the link from earlier showed 15 minutes wait. We went inside just to check on time and she told us another 35-50 minute wait. I questioned how the link said one thing, she told us one thing on arriving and now even more time. I looked around the dining area. I counted at least 9 empty tables inside and out. My daughter really wanted breakout out with the family, so we continued to wait. Supposedly, when we asked about the empty tables she said she had to text people about their table and then wait 10 minutes for them to arrive. Some tables had been sitting empty at least 30 minutes. Someone else asked about the empty tables and they were told it would stress the servers if they sat them all. We finally were seated after waiting in person 45 minutes. We had 3 in our group and they sat us at a 6 top when there were still several 4 tops empty and a family of 5 waiting who I'm sure would have liked our table. Our server came. He was okay. He got our drink order and our food placed. We finally received our food another 45 minutes after ordering. Mine and my husbands food looked like it had been in the warmer for a long time. The food wasn't bad. Wasn't the best ever. Certainly not worth a 1 1/2 wait. This restaurant has so much potential. We saw so many people leave who could Have been served. As we were seated the hostess told us, if we came during the week we wouldn't have to wait so long. Thanks. The food is ok but the wait is ridiculous. The staff absolutely lie about the wait time and the waitlist might as well just be a suggestion for the time you're willing to wait before you get fed up and decide to leave for a better restaurant. The only redeeming quality about this place is that they have a gluten free menu. Everytime I've been here I've waited an hour to sit and 30 minutes for food and it wasn't even that good. This place is a definite pass for anyone visiting Athens. They need better management. The food was pretty average and the service was a bit slow - not my favorite breakfast experience. The pumpkin pancakes were good though.

The BMW on cement blocks in the parking lot should have been a clue as to what followed inside. The coffee was excellent. The service was slow, and the kitchen seems to have a shallow skillset: what food was clearly prepared from frozen was good, but what required skill, as in the making of an omelette, seemed poorly-executed. Most seating seemed fine, although the two-person booths are too narrow to comfortably use both arms. Stick to the four-tops if you want to use a knife and fork. read more

Floridian Omelette was mediocre at best, the crab is most definitely not fresh and most likely from a can. Bar service was awful, we never got silverware and the food as well as to be waited on took forever. Will most likely not be returning to this location. I have been to many locations of this chain, but this was by far the worst experience. read more

My first experience here could have been better. We put ourselves on the waitlist and checked in. We waited for an hour and people that came in after with no type of reservation was seated before us. The chicken was super dry and tough. I may try again and try something different and come on a different day and not a Sunday. read more

Horrible service, arrived last week at 1pm, store didn't close until 2pm, lady told me couldn't serve me because I wasn't already in line before 1pm, (an hour before closing) Asked to speak with mgr. She went back to tell him and he told her to tell me he was in a meeting. I asked is he in a meeting or just told her to say he was. She said " he told me to say he's in a meeting " I appreciated her honesty. Came today because I had high hopes for this brand because I support them across the country, once again the wait for food was about 40 minutes, when we asked for syrup they brought out a sticky syrup container (gross) . tipped the waitress anyway. This was my 4th time supporting this store since their opening less than a month ago and probably my last. I guess I have to resume driving to Atlanta to feel what "another broken egg " should be. read more

Be prepared to spend 1/2 your day there. At least an hour to wait for a seat and then at least an hour to wait for your mediocre food. Nope.

Unfortunately, I have not had a pleasant experience any time I have visited this place. I used to love ABEC when we would visit in Florida, but sadly this location is run poorly and is consistently a disappointing experience. I really hope they figure it out, but I am out of chances to give. read more

Don't bother ! We walked around 2, things were winding down and there was plenty of seating, but the hostesses couldn't decide where they want to seat us. There were at least four tables open. They look confused and bothered, so we just sat at the bar. We had to clear a couple of drinks that were left on the bar to make room for us. The bartender, after about five minutes finally took our drink order and ordered our food. The rest of the bar was covered with old cups dishes and breakfast items from one end to the other. they were still there as we were leaving. The Food was disgusting. I got the shrimp creole Benedict. The creole sauce tasted like it came from a can. The grit cake was bland and flavorless but the worst thing were the eggs they were raw ! They were so raw that they were still cold in the middle. It was like eating kitty litter with a raw egg on top. read more

We have been twice. We go early to avoid the line. Both times our food was delicious and our service was friendly and prompt. We have ordered 5 different items on the menu ranging from omelettes/biscuits/French toast/salmon and poached eggs and got one item for a family member as takeout- which was flawlessly timed to arrive at the end of our meal. All very good. My only suggestion is to toast the English muffins and bagels a bit more. They are sometimes much too cool to melt butter- but overall a great experience both times. Lastly- I want to take a second to remind the reviewer that felt the need to body shame the hostess that that kind of comment only reflects negatively on you --not on the woman you are body shaming. Nobody needs to look a certain way simply to please you. It also casts a cloud on the entire review - If that was his attitude at the door- before even sitting down- I can't imagine there was much anyone could do to make him happy that day. read more

Rather than wait for a table (long wait on a Sat morning around 10 am) I sat at the bar. I spent a long time looking over the menu for something I could afford and didn't find anything, even on the "sides" list. While I was preparing to pay a lot for food anyway, I realized nobody had spoken to me in 15 minutes (nobody asked if I wanted food/drink or acknowledged my existence). I noticed the bar was very messy and wet. I asked someone bussing the tables if I could move to a spot that I suspected might be a wait station at the bar (it had chairs and place settings but was clearly the wait station - yet was dry and clean) and she said she didn't know. (?) I realized this entire experience was terrible and left. I had eaten their once before: food was okay, enormous in quantity (I could have had half the food for half the price), but ridiculously expensive. read more

I would not recommend going to this place to dine in. The service takes way too long. My eggs were cold with my meal. We ordered our food and waited over an hour for it to be served. I have been to other broken egg cafes and the service is much quicker and the food taste great. Very disappointed at this location. read more

There was not a wait time and the food was served right away. I think those that had wait time issues came at a time when every restaurant in Athens was busy..ex after church brunch. Let me start with the good, our server was as nice as she could be and kept apologizing for the kitchen but let me just say wow what a shit hole. Waited over an hour for breakfast for 2 people. Finally got the food and it was disgusting. Wasted $60 on food I had to throw away. Do yourself a favor and stay far far away. Had a pick up order for lunch at work and the food well less than par. Eggs were scrambled too hard and only a corner portion. A chicken sandwich was ordered and the chicken was under seasoned and the bacon was burnt. Tried to call and speak with mgr and no one answer after multiple calls. We had high hopes for this restaurant because the IHops in town have not been kept up well and we love to have eggs and omelets for breakfast and lunch sometimes. Unfortunately, our first experience was not a good one. The location is good and the space is new and very nicely appointed. The hostess was not at all welcoming and glared when we asked for a window booth because it was not cleaned. "Can you clean it?" we asked. She roughly removed the tray that was on it and plopped our silver service on the table without wiping it. Thankfully our waitress was very nice and apologized and had a young man clean it. The menu looks very nice with varied options but my Huevos Rancheros were very bland and tasteless and my partners veggie omelet did not taste like it was made with fresh eggs. The side potatoes I got were cubed and fried to almost burnt, not appealing at all. We ended up leaving most of it. The coffee was good and our waitress was very nice. As we were finishing she started to sweep the floor which up till then was full of food, crumbs and napkins. The rest of cast milled and sat around without a worry in the world. Husband and I "celebrated" our wedding anniversary October 1 at your Athens, GA location. When we walked in, approximately 9:30 we were asked to wait while the young gentleman cleaned a table, presumably for us. He then sat us at a dirty table in front of the bar and kitchen door. Skyler was our waitress, and she was pleasant enough. We ordered omelettes with "seasoned" potatoes: I got the Floridian and my husband the Mediterranean, but first, a half order of beneigts. They were hard as a rock. Omelettes came out moments later and were very good. The potatoes were not warm and not seasoned. Our drinks were never topped off. While we were eating the busboy had his dirty black bin on the chair directly in front of us. I can appreciate the need to park somewhere while you wait/rest, but literally in front of dining customers and then people who chose to sit at the bar? Not pleasant. Then when the waitress came to check on us was I asked if I wanted a Diet Coke to go. She took my debit card and the bill to the register. Where she left it and proceeded to wait on other patrons. She left my card THREE times. Certainly not a $46 breakfast dining experience and the only reason why I left a tip at all was because I know waitstaff do not make a living wage. Really, really disappointing for an upper scale breakfast. I wrote something very similar to this on the back of my receipt and in a Facebook message the same day. NO RESPONSE. read more
