We were in a hurry (my wife, my 8 year old and myself), so we agreed to sit at the bar even though there was a four top sitting open and no one waiting for it. This was on 11:50 Saturday the 17th. The bartender didn't even greet us or acknowledged that we were there until I asked for menus. When we ordered it was 12:00 and we still weren't asked what we wanted to drink or even given waters until 12:10. It was 12:38 when i asked the bartender about the food. She went in the back and immediately came out with our food which had obviously been sitting in the back for at least 10 minutes. The eggs were runny. The scrambled eggs were cold. The Belgian waffles were soggy. The salmon bagels were way too small for the price. Do not expect good service at the bar unless you are drinking alcohol. I came to Another Broken Egg for a birthday brunch and I was left unimpressed. I ordered the Sunrise Spinach Scrambler and my eggs were unseasoned and regular. The hash browns were more seasoned and exciting than the eggs but overall my meal was average. The service however was great! I loved our server. He was so kind and accommodating. He gave us free beignets for my friend's birthday which were delicious! The beignets were the best part of the brunch. I walked in with pretty decent expectations... let's just say they seemed a bit too high afterwards. Obviously there was a wait since I came on a Sunday afternoon. We were greeted, but it took so long to get drinks, silverware, and to order. My friend and I ordered the new cinnamon cold brew (tasted like a latte with a lot of milk), coffee, biscuit beignets (very dense and felt like donut holes than actual beignets), hash brown benedict with cheese grits (eggs were not poached properly), and shrimp and grits. We waited a while for our food, and I think we spent around 45 mins just sitting. I had to ask for refills, for our drinks when it took too long, and silverware. Food wasn't terrible, but I just don't think it's worth waiting so long when I can pay the same price for the same food elsewhere. I'm not sure if they were short staffed, but not sure if it's worth coming back if service does not improve. read more

Avoid avoid avoid this place. Went here on a Sunday morning so I was definitely expecting to wait a little bit, but boy it was so much worse. Our server, was terrible and didn't get our order or bring water over until we had sat for 20 minutes. Then he proceeded to forget the coffee and juice that we ordered. When the food came out it was mediocre at best. Cheese is just thrown on top for your omelet or eggs and the sandwiches were dry. I wish I could say that they were overly busy or our server had too many tables but that was just not the case. Our server moved slower than a snail, messed up our order, and forgot my pancake. I was visiting family in the area for the holidays and we decided to come here. I've been to a Texas location and was pleased, so I figured this would be the same. We arrived at about 9 am for a party of 8 and were seated immediately as there were plenty of seats. If we'd been a little bit later, we would have been waiting as it quickly filled up. Our server took our drink order and was friendly. Between all of us, we had omelets, chicken & waffles, French toast, and biscuits & gravy. I believe everyone enjoyed their food. I had the omelet with City Grits... nothing special, though, but were decent. The inside of the restaurant is fairly small, which is why I can see there can be extended wait times during heavy hours, but we picked a good time this day. I'd go back when in the area. read more

The manager decided to stop seating people and neglected to tell the folks that had been waiting already so instead of our time decreasing our wait time kept increasing a half hour turned into a one and a half hours the food was disgusting. They forgot the sausage, grits powder sugar, and gave us raw eggs after we ask them for it to be well-done. The food was cold. The coffee was thick as mud. After all that the manager of refused to refund my order, she wanted to refund only the eggs when I couldn't eat the entire meal because the runny eggs got all over my food. The food was good. The service was good. But what left a horrible review was how they handled a situation afterwards. I forgot my coupon until she had processed my order. She said it would show as a credit in a few days on my account. We kept an eye out and never saw it. I called and left a message on the managers line But no one ever called back..I did so again since you can't get anyone to actually answer the phone. We were in the area and stopped by. the kitchen manager came out, had to see the picture of my receipt, went to the back and looked it up. He showed us where the credit had occurred that we had missed. He seemed really put out. Said he has been out of town and had no idea why no one had called back. His disregard was off putting. This place cannot compare to the finer brunch places in town. Half of the servers looked sloppy and unhappy. One of the servers was dusting the candelabra hanging over some of the tables, dropping dust onto the tableware already set out for the next customers. The food looks great on the menu but in reality is pretty bland. My biscuit was rubbery like it had been over-microwaved. I had to ask for butter for it, which came as three little half-frozen pats. After we got our food, I never saw our server again; when we flagged someone else down to get our check way too long after we finished eating, we were told she had "been asked to leave the premises". So, they dismissed our server without assigning anyone to take over her tables. With other much better places to eat close by, there is zero inspiration to ever return here. read more

I've been to this cafe more than once I just feel like the service is very slow and feels disorganized. The food does taste wonderful, but the wait for something like pancakes just takes a while and I'm twiddling my thumbs waiting for a refill. This was a 5 stars as a breakfast place, (not a general restaurant). Good food, good service in a nice clean dining area in a convenient location. Outside tables available Food 5/5- their poached eggs are excellent in all the dishes we have tried, from the eggs Benedict's to their shrimp dishes. The potatoes are a little salty but done just right. My friends really liked the grits. The mixed fruit side dishes are fresh and even include mangoes. A fairly varied menu for a breakfast place -more costly than usual local places. Mimosas and other cocktails are available but are not cheap. Service: 5/5-quick, pleasant, our waiter, Reese, knew the menu well. Coffee cups were kept full. Ambiance/facility: 4/5 new construction. Casual, fairly noisy, clean. Ok restrooms, tables nicely spaced. A few tables with umbrellas for outside dining are available behind the restaurant, away from the traffic side. Our server was just talking to someone for that long. I ordered the eggs Benedict. The eggs were so under cooked it was not edible. There was not a firm egg white to be found. Expensive and not good. My husband & I both ordered the Mardi Gras omelet which was horrible. The sauce on it was bad. Super strange. The whole total for 3 people was $60.97, but my husband & I felt like we didn't even get to eat. We ate less than 1/2 of our food. Will never return. Terrible service. My husband and I waited over an hour to be sat and then waited another 20 minutes just to see our server. Then, he finally came over and took our order. We waited another 30 minutes for our food. It was cold by the time it was out, We had to take syrup off another table because our server never brought us syrup. My husband asked for a sweet tea refill, we never got it. We then waited 20 more more minutes to see our server. We actually had to grab another server to get our stuff for us including our check and boxes. She to our server to get us a sweet tea and instead he gave it to the table behind us. I know many previous reviews complained about the service but we were treated really well! The wait time was an hour which was expected after UGA graduation but we were seated quickly after the wait. The food itself was a bit of a let down since we were all so excited to visit this new location. But the best part of the food is the customization options. It isn't listed on the menu, but they'll let you add anything to your waffles and pancakes-chocolate chips, fruit, etc. Each entree comes with two sides and the portion sizes are large. Where do I begin? Walked in was greeted by the hostess who took our name and number and said a 10 min wait. The waiting area inside consist of one bench which was full so we waited outside until it was time to be seated, which took about 10-15mins no biggie. We were seated by the hostess and giving menus. We sat over 20 mins before I finally flagged a girl down to let her know we hadn't seen a waiter. She said she would take our drink order until a waiter was available. We asked for 3 waters and a cranberry juice. We received 2 waters, a cranberry juice and an ice tea. We let her know we didn't ask for a tea, she said keep it anyway. That glass of tea had residue of lipstick on the glass eww! 2 straws were left on the table. I waited another 10 mins before flagging another person down to get a straw. We are only on drinks moving along.. We finally ordered: Chicken and waffles side of egg and grits. Pancakes comes with eggs and sausage ordered side of grits. Lemon pound cake French toast comes with eggs sub meat for grits. We waited over 40 mins for our food. Meanwhile we notice chaos at table in front of us, they had major issues with their order. The manager had visit the table several times. A server came out with food, we was hoping it was ours, it went to another table. She served the plate of food to that guest by putting it on the table in front of her. That guest said it was t her order. That server took the plate and brought it to my table and placed it in front of me. I said it wasn't my order. She took the plate and took it to another table and served it to the correct guest. My problem with this issue : that plate was placed on table in front of two other people who looked it, breathe on it. I did not like that. My suggestion would be to ask if this is your order first before placing the food down. I definitely wouldn't have ate that plate of food!! Still waiting for food we asked for an order beignets. Something to munch on until our food. A few plates of our order came out and were served. Only grits came out apart of my order. They were delicious. Maybe I was hungry but it was good. The beignets came out. This is where it gets gross I bite into the beignets and began to chew as my friend say is that cream filled?? I instantly spit the beignet out it was still uncooked Liquid dough in the center. Instantly I became disgusted!! I cut open the rest of the beignets, all uncooked dough inside. My food finally comes out and of course I wasn't eating that. It did looked good! I showed the manager the uncooked food, who apologized and said she would take care of the bill. I mean take care of the bill should have been the bare minimum done for us. The manager said this location had been open for 4 days and today was the first day without corporate and the whole day was a disaster. We left and I I felt sick for the rest of the day. Probably food poisoning or just the thought of it. I want to be fair that this place had just opened but I don't think that's a good enough excuse for the service and food we received. read more

Food is decent service is not great if you want to be waiting for 3 hours to eat then go here but honestly is it worth the wait? Mmmm not really I get it's their first days opening but I think they really have to fix a lot of issues starting with the wait list they give you one time and then once you arrive you have to wait another hour... once you sit down you wait like 20 minutes to get someone to come... On top of that you wait an hour just to get your food and it's not hot and fresh , probably because it's been sitting in the window while they wait to complete the rest of the order... Over all be prepared to wait and receive cold food. Will I come back? Mmm maybe once they fix all of these issues. read more

The family and I went to this spot for a Birthday Celebration, I must say every dish that came to the table was delicious. The staff was nice, friendly, and professional. I love Another Broken Egg, but there's not one near me. When I came to Athens to see my daughter, this was a must visit on my things to do while in Athens. As we're driving to the restaurant, I'm reading all the reviews, most of which were negative. I wanted to change my plans and go somewhere else. I'm glad my husband knew how much I love this restaurant and encouraged me to go and have my experience. Everyone spoke on horrible wait times, my husband stated it could have been a game day, which is understandable that there would be long wait times. Or a holiday, as my daughter mentioned to me as well. Our experience was amazing. The wait time was normal for a popular brunch spot. The hostess told us it would be a 30 minute wait. They called us in 25 minutes. People complained about the small bench to sit on while waiting. We had no problem going to our car waiting on a text to let us know our table was ready. After we were seated, our server, Parker, immediately came to the table to take our order. Parker was very friendly and very familiar with the menu. He came us amazing recommendations, which definitely didn't disappoint. Our food was prepared great and came out hot without a long delay. Parker was very attentive to us and all of his tables for that matter. He was "on it." They we're busy, but the atmosphere didn't feel rushed or chaotic. I ordered the chicken and waffles. Amazing. The city grits are a must have too!! I tasted my daughter's, then had to order my own. Our experience was great! My advice is to consider the reviewers experiences, but go for yourself to get your own experience. I'm glad we did. read more

This was our first time eating at Another Broken Egg, and I think it will be our new brunch/lunch spot. Our food was delicious. We had the shrimp & grits, and our server was correct, it was not spicy. Our BLT's and Chicken Tortilla Soup were great. And my granddaughter loved her chocolate chip pancakes. Our server was efficient, attentive and kind. The ambiance was great. We noticed outside seating which will be lovely in the spring. We each commented that we can't wait to return and try something else on the menu. read more

Food is mediocre at best. My basic meal of pancakes, eggs and sausage went terribly wrong. The cooks have no consistency in how the food is prepared making your dining experience hit or miss. Service is not bad but the server is clearly checked out. Usually quite loud and patio doesn't seem to be an option. Thank you to the manager that came and personally remade my entire order! Blackened shrimp salad's shrimp was so salty I had to send it back. The shrimp was not salty from the blackened seasoning, but just salty. Why do restaurants add so much salt when there is salt on the table to add if wanted? The res was f the salad was just not good. The gumbo was good, but again too salty. Not everyone likes salt to that extent. We will prob not try again, but if I do, the pancakes did look good. read more

The service was extremely poor and we waited for over 45 minutes for our food to come out and given no updates on the service. While we waited, the ambiance of the restaurant was filthy. Any unused table was covered with dirty dishes as it seemed the employees here were in no rush to clean up. As for the food itself, it was nothing special. The only redeeming quality of the restaurant was that they were kind enough to comp our food for the service. I'm normally not one to review restaurants but it must be known that the overall experience here isn't worth it until the restaurant learns how to manage its operation properly. You'd be better off going to Mama's Boy or J Christopher's for brunch style of food. read more
