Charos is amazing! I am a crybaby when it comes to pain. I swear to you that this is the least painful wax I have gotten in NYC. I have tried so many places that claim their wax was "painless" but the wax they use here is the real deal. Super clean, friendly service. I had a facial before COVID happened and my skin was baby soft. I love how the Charos (owner) never pushed me to buy any products. (I hate when spas do that, it immediately tells me that they are all in it for the money.) I had a skin issue I was dealing with and she just told me to just make my own face mask with ingredients I had at home until we can deal with the issue in the winter time. read more

Look at my face. I know, it's flawless, thanks for noticing. Unfortunately, that also means I don't need to get a facial, so admittedly I can't let you know how good the facials at Anor Spa are. That said, what I can tell you is that they are the nicest folks in here. D was so sweet; she quickly and efficiently set me up with a gift certificate to give to my gorgeous but not quite as flawless as this (:: points to face ::) wife. My wife in turn was extremely pleased with the gift, so if you're looking to get in the good graces of someone you may have disparaged slightly in a Yelp review, I highly recommend getting them a gift certificate to Anor Spa. read more

Anor Spa - Sign out front lured me in - Skin Care Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

I had never been here before but I came for a facial (bday present from my hubby - lucky me : ) and was really impressed. The space was clean and comfortable and the staff was courteous and kind. Alla, my technician, was very sweet, made sure I was comfortable, explained everything she was doing to my skin/face and generally had a warm, kind presence. My skin looked great (really great) afterwards for weeks and she gave me some helpful skincare advice for my day to day routine. I've definitely been to fancier places but for the price you really can't go wrong here, awesome value for NYC. I'll be back. read more

the worst facial I've ever had. Not coming back again. First I waited for 15 mins passed my scheduled time - the staff did not apologize in any way. There was zero communications and explanations during the facial. Massage were very brief. Extractions are not comprehensive too. I honestly do not know where all these five star ratings from - which led to my first visit. But... unfortunately it was very underwhelming read more

I looked up Anor spa on Yelp before I went and the reviews did not lie. I'm always scared to try a new waxing place but I felt a warm welcome from my initial call to make an appointment. This place was amazing from the customer service to the cleanliness. The best part was I have been waxing for years and this was the most painless and quick Brazilian wax I've ever had! Charos was so pleasant and efficient. I will be back! read more

Can't recommend Anor Spa enough!! Clean, efficient, they're always on schedule and they are all so friendly. Alla is incredible, welcoming, calming, you name it. This place truly makes you feel at ease the moment you walk in. Plus, scheduling appointments is so easy -- they're super quick to respond to emails with available times. Pricier but the quality of the products and service is worth it. read more

I went to this place for the first time today and saw Klara. She was just simply amazing and so nice. I got a deep cleansing facial and my skin looks amazing and feels even better. I would definitely be returning to see her for all my skin care needs. She's a very sweet and knowledgeable woman. She told me what I should be using to maintain my skincare routine. The spa itself is very calming with soft music and nice decor. Definitely worth a trip to go and visit. Thankfully it's not too far from my house. A big thank you to Klara for making me feel comfortable and the receptionist was very nice and welcoming as well. read more

Amazing experience at Anor spa! Truly one of the best facials I've ever had. Valentina is a pro, her technique and face massage is unlike any I've ever experienced. Ultra customized facial with each step explained- already can't wait to go back! read more

I cannot recommend Anor Spa enough. Charos is amazing and her facials are absolutely out of this world. My skin hasn't felt this good in years. She is gentle and takes great care as she works on my skin, which can be sensitive. I have now set up a facial here every 6 weeks and plan on trying the waxing soon too. read more

I am so impressed with Anor Spa! Charos is amazing, kind, sweet & explained everything she was doing during the facial. My skin looks and feels incredible! I left feeling relaxed, with skin care recommendations, and a free sample. I'll definitely be returning. Thank you so much for a lovely experience! read more

I came here for my first ever and as of this review second ever bikini wax. I am a legit child when it comes to pain. Klara was super nice and talked to me the entire time. She also was fast, in and out in 30 min, which I learned is what you want when it comes to a bikini wax. I have nothing to compare to but the wax seems to be special (a dry and pull type) and was not that painful and everything is painful to me. All in all I am happy with both experiences and will definitely recommend this place to anyone, especially anyone nervous about getting a bikini wax. read more

Wait time, let just say there was no wait time. Clara took good care of my friend and I on our Brazilian wax. The establishment is nothing but peace and serenity. We will definitely come back. read more

Great facial with Charos. She was very patient and professional, and recommended me to do acne facial. Highly recommend! My face is super clear and smooth after the session. Will definitely go back read more

I came here recently for a facial and I will probably return. It's a small space and the walls are very thin, but its clean and the owner and the other lady that works there is very pleasant. Prices are decent too and the products smell amazing. read more

By far one of the best spas I've been to. Charos, is beyond exceptional. She's very informative, explains the procedure, & how to care for your face after the spa. I have never felt so relaxed & refreshed in any other spa. Def Will be visiting again !! Small setting but extremely peaceful and worth every penny. read more

These women are amazing! The most comfortable yet thorough and professional waxing service on the planet. But you do have to plan in advance. Same day appointments are rarely available. read more

I no longer live in the neighborhood, but one of the things I miss most about Cobble Hill is Charos at Anor Spa. She is one of the nicest, most down to earth person I've ever met and she just happens to be an extremely skilled waxer. Seriously ladies (and gents), it is the most pleasant experience as far as waxing goes. I won't say it's painless, but it's definitely one of the least painful brazilian bikini wax jobs I've ever had (and I've had a lot). Even while pregnant the pain was minimal. Much better than Shobha in Manhattan, which was previously my go to spot. Needless to say this salon does NOT double dip. I really can't say enough about Charos. She works extremely hard and will try her best to fit you in last minute if you can't plan in advance (ahem...me). One time she let me come AFTER closing time and didn't rush the job at all!! We always have such nice conversations about my family and hers and the time just flies by. Before I know it I'm bare as the day I was born and on my merry way. read more

This place is on the pricier side for a wax but it is worth it. When you arrive, they have a small waiting room with hot water for tea and cookies. The attendant is very friendly and it is very easy to schedule an appointment (I book through their website and they will email you pretty immediately for dates and times that work best). There are two rooms for waxes so they are busy but it is worth it. I can't repeat that enough. They use a hard wax that goes on hot and easy and comes off almost painlessly. I was shocked at how much better this experience was than my previous waxes. And the woman who did mine went slow and took it easy to make sure she was thorough. I can't recommend Anor Spa enough. It's definitely worth the money if you're willing to pay it! read more

Charos works magic...on your face. One of the best facials I've ever had and by far the best facial waxing ever. She is super sweet, gentle, patient and knowledgeable. Her products are natural, non irritating and soothing. I especially love her Hungarian products made from fruits and veggies. Extractions are done as gently as possible and the ambiance is amazing. I've been coming for about 4 years and won't go anywhere else. My eyebrows can't be trusted in other hands. Her daughter is also super sweet and attentive :) Super plus: she's extremely accommodating and has seen me on short notice. And they serve the most delectable cookies. Divine! read more

Charos is the best: thorough, kind, and calming. I don't go anywhere else for my waxing needs. She is always on time, always patient, and always makes me feel comfortable. It's a small space, but she actually remembers her clients and is committed to their experience. Thank you, Charos! read more

I am a fan of Anor Spa :) The owner is Sweet , soft spoken and her work is OUTSTANDING ! .. I always walk out happy and relaxed I've been this year about 3 times for facials & waxing Would highly recommend her and will continue coming here ! read more

Called last minute for a facial and they were able to squeeze me in. The spa was very neat and clean and the front desk staff was very friendly. The esthetician was also very friendly and made me feel at ease. She gave a wonderful massage during the facial. She didn't over extract and I was able to go out for dinner that same night and my face looked totally fine. I'd return here! read more

One of the best facials I have ever gotten. Charos was amazing. She knew exactly how to treat my skin and did a great job at explaining everything. I really enjoyed the hand massage and scalp massage as well! My skin looks and feels amazing. These are the types of experiences that makes me want to come back. I definitely will. The whole experience was so calming and soothing. Over the top exceptional. Well worth it! read more

After my first facial here, I had to come back for a 2nd one. I made my first appointment after seeing the great reviews and was definitely not disappointed. It's cozy and intimate, plus it's 1-on-1. I crawled into the soft, comfy, HEATED bed!! That alone made it amazing, but it doesn't end here! Charos' hands were soft and her voice gentle. I went in with a frequent breakout problem and she recommended a blend of the deep cleansing acne treatment with a short LED light treatment. I said, "Do what you want to me, I trust you!" The extractions hurt like a m***f**** as usual, but so sterile. I heard her open a new pack and new gloves every time. Over the next few weeks I definitely noticed the change in my skin. I had about 3 new breakouts over the next month, which was a LOT less than my usual. I was amazed! I went back for my 2nd facial with Charos a couple of days ago and it was another wonderful experience; I almost fell asleep on the table! The facials I got were pricey ($100 each time) but I'm budgeting to keep this in my monthly routine. It's worth it! read more

I went there for the first time to get waxed by Ala. she was incredibly sweet, just like the front desk staff, and made getting a Brazilian as comfortable as it's going to get. The place is a little pricey (like most things in this neighborhood) but worth the significantly better experience. I'm def coming back. read more

I think everyone is nervous about getting their first Brazilian wax but Klara put me at ease. I've gone back twice and all I can say is the grow out is amazing. I made an appointment for the 4 weeks after and I almost felt like I could put it off a few weeks! Klara makes you feel so comfortable, which is great for a first timer. She treated my bikini area the same way she treated my eyebrows - completely professional. They use a special kind of wax so there isn't much pain. After my second time it was so much easier as well! Totally a wax convert. Won't be going back to shaving ever. read more

Clara was amazing. My face is glowing after the facial I had here. They took every precaution for Covid and I felt safe. Charo and Dee were also very kind. I will definitely recommend and come back! read more

I've been looking for a regular esthetician and am so happy to have found Charos and Anor Spa. This really is such a hidden gem. I got a body treatment and facial on my first visit and then just went back for the HydroPeptide facial with eye treatment. Not only is the service itself amazing but because of the coziness of it all you basically have the place to yourself. And everything everyone else has already said about Charos is absolutely true! read more

Everything (good) people say about this place is true. I've had a lot of bikini waxes in my life, and Charos does the MOST painless job by far. She's so nice and makes you feel comfortable right away. I also appreciate that you can send an email to book since I have a phone phobia. I used to live around the corner from here and have since moved a little farther away but I'll happily take the extra time to only go here. The space is clean and the receptionist is also very lovely. Worth every penny. read more

I love this place! Charos & Klara are always so pleasant and both do great brazilians.

Anor Spa was the first spot I tried for a facial when moving to Brooklyn two years ago based on their Yelp reviews and I've not felt the need to try anywhere else. Charos and Klara are excellent estheticians! They ask a lot of questions and tailor the facial to your skin's needs that day. Their products are all natural/organic and they explain everything they are applying and why. I've learned so much about, products, skincare in general, and how to best care for my skin throughout the different seasons from these ladies. I would highly recommend Anor Spa! read more

Today was my fourth time going to Anor and I was beyond pleased. At 34.5 weeks pregnant, I wasn't sure what to expect from my first Brazilian wax in YEARS. She made me feel so comfortable and accommodated my bump while quickly and painlessly removing everything. I barely winced during the 45 minutes of waxing my upper lip, eyebrows and Brazilian. This spot is amazing and well worth the trip for anyone from Manhattan and should be an automatic go-to for BK women! read more

About two years ago I was referred to Anor Spa by a friend who was bragging about their facial and wax services. I got a facial and loved it. Every step of the the process was explained to me and the products used were great for my skin. She also does not push products on you and is very honest. She told me straight that I didn't need anything else at this point. Other places have tried to sell me everything. I just recently started getting waxed there and can't believe I was missing out all these years simply because I was afraid. Charos makes the experience very relaxing as she carries on a friendly conversation. I was afraid because of the horror stories I have heard about waxing in general so I started with an underarm wax, eventually went onto half leg, then a bikini and now trust her with all of the above and a Brazilian. I'm very picky about where I go so trust me when I say, Charos is the real deal and you will not have a better experience for both your facial and waxing needs elsewhere. read more

Charos is amazing. You'll never find a more pleasant, less painful wax than this place. I recently moved across the country, and will find reasons to come back to Brooklyn just to go to Anor. read more

I really wanted this place to be good based on the reviews but I'm pretty sure they're all fake now that I'm reading some of them back. I got a Brazilian wax here and they charged me an extra $10 to do the bikini line. I actually feel like my waxing lady must've thought I was stupid because I was being nice and going along with the whole thing but after I got the bill I realized my mistake and felt pretty embarrassed at letting her talk me into it. Her explanation for the upcharge was that they (management) count everything pretty much as extra which I've never heard of before. To demonstrate that it was outside the normal area she used a different wax and it irritated my bikini line and was noticeably harsher on the skin- pulling much more. I don't really understand what the point was of doing all that just for $10? There were actually few other parts I won't mention that made me uncomfortable so I wouldn't recommend the experience. read more

Clara is truly the best. I have been going for facials since I was 12. I know exactly what I'm looking for and how to pick a good esthetician. I have tried out a lot of esthetician when I first moved to NYC and am grateful to have finally found Clara. She is passionate, experienced, professional, honest, communicative and truly have your best interest in mind (and at heart!). I've been going to her for my facials since 2013, and even when I no longer live in the neighborhood. She is the reason I now have clear skin. Thank you so much for helping me with my acne problem! I always look forward to our monthly facial appointments :) read more

I booked a last minute waxing about on a Friday afternoon and am so glad that I have found this place. I got the "In-between" bikini wax and I couldn't believe how painless the entire experience was. There were moments that I quite literally felt nothing and after the experience I know I can't go anywhere else in NYC now. Clara is beyond fantastic and is very knowledgeable about skin and keeping it healthy. I am looking forward to going back for a facial and will be going to her for all future waxes. I cannot recommended this place enough, it was the best bikini waxing I've ever had. read more

First time but I'll be back. I loved that they didn't try to upsell me -- great facial.

i went here because of the excellent reviews as well as the spa's website that highlights the use of "deep extractions" in its facials. i had an acne facial which cost $100 and lasted about 1hour and a half. Charos, who did the facial is a nice woman, and her space is comfortable, but i was relatively disappointed by the facial. although the highlight of the "acne facial" is on the extractions, Charos didn't extract everything on my face leaving me to start making-up for what she neglected some days later (by which time i figured that the swelling of her extractions had subsided and healed as much as it could without removing the whole pimple). i found so much crap left over in my skin, that i realized that my visit to charos was pretty useless. read more

Truly a hidden gem and definitely the most pain-free Brazilian wax I have ever experienced. I'd argue it's worth traveling from Manhattan for a wax with Charos. read more
