Annie's kitchen. Where to begin. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted to warm hellos and a generally positive environment. The staff are very respectful, and give you time and space to order at your own pace. The food is relatively quick to arrive. Between 10-15 minutes, based on the complexity of your dish. They offer a one dollar unlimited tea kettle option which is a very lovely touch. They are flexible with the food options, i.e: particularly with mixing soup options; e.g: combining eggdrop and wonton soup at no additional cost. Generally affordable prices. Best deals are their lunch and dinner specials, differing within a small range based on your selection. And what's nice is their horalogic flexibility around those deals, unlike other restaurants that won't budge for even a minute beyond the appointed hour. What I love the best about this restaurant is the fact that the cuisine is light, unlike most Chinese restaurants which feature a lot of the same items but unbearably heavy on the system. In that regard especially, it is better than most traditional Chinese food joints and one the best in the kosher game, undeniably the best in Queens. With regards to the unlimited tea special I would recommend that you remove the tea bag after finishing the bevarage. Otherwise what they will do is add more water but keep the original teabag. For a fuller and darker coloration and flavour profile remove it as they will replace it for you with a new teabag. The Gen tsao chicken or other generally breaded options often feature a significant amount of breading which may be of interest to those of you who want to avoid the extra calories (still somehow lighter on the stomach). There are plenty of other options though, and they very thoughtfully provide a picture flip book off menue items upon request to streamline ordering. All in all a solid option, and a pleasant environment where you can sit for a long while without being bothered. Be aware that they automatically include a service charge on your receipt. Very disappointing again and again after a while. I did leave 3 star review already. But removed it, because the owner asked me to do a big favor. I came here with wife and 2 kids on Sunday evening. And found a sit and sat down. However, after us there is another family came with 5 person. The waiter tells me " I'm sorry this sit reserved" meanwhile this restaurant never accepts reservations. I got up of course. Not argued at all. Since it's not a big deal. However, why lie to people. I waited 10 additional minutes till they had openings. Guess what? I won't recommend anyone to here.
