I came across an Annabel's Pizza food truck at Thatcher State Park recently. After hiking with my little dog on a warm day, I was so relieved to see the food truck that it felt as though I was looking at a mirage. I was going to lunch soon but I wanted something to hold me over. Annabel's serves more than pizza. I picked pretzel sticks with cheese dip and a bottle of water. The man who took my order was very friendly and quite efficient. The pretzels had to be heated in the oven. The wait wasn't very long. The pretzels were delicious. I gave my dog a sample. She liked them, too. The food truck has a big oven. It was impressive to look at. The truck looks clean both inside and out. It was conveniently parked near the overlook where there are many picnic tables. I will look for the truck again on my next hike. read more

Went with two friends on a very quiet Thursday for lunch. We ordered at the counter but you may also use Toast on your phone. We shared all the items shown in the photo with mixed reactions! Some of the wings were majority breading. The medium buffalo sauce was flaming hot which I love, but my friends were dying from spice. The steak chimichuri sandwich had fluffy ciabatta and dressed well with chimichurri. But most of the steak was chewy and not a desired texture. The pretzels were most disappointing because they looked so inviting. Zero flavor, hardly any salt,served cold temperature and the cheese dipping sauce was not able to spread. And no one has complained about the price once, which is saying something if you know our team. *the menu is filled with enough choices to not be overwhelming, but still offer something for everyone with a decent amount of veggie options on the apps and pizza menus, plus a build your own salad option which is always a must for our work group. And one of the secret MAJOR reasons Annabel's rules [& Frog Alley, at that] is that it is open 7 days a week. If you live in Schenectady, you know there are not a lot of places open on Monday nights, so if you are looking for a spot to please a group of people with different preferences, it can be a struggle. What a great pizza! Though soppressata tends to be an acquired taste for many, I find it to be a rich flavor that fed into this Meat Lovers pizza perfectly. A 12 inch pizza that was surely enough for two. (Sorry no picture of the pizza) The Crispy Artichoke Hearts were also a great snack. Hand breaded and fried perfectly ready to dip in the horseradish sauce. The chopped antipasto was pretty good. Slightly under dressed with the balsamic dressing but that is totally subjective on my part. I could have asked for more dressing but didn't. My wife told me I needed to eat vegetables so hence the salad. Haha! I also ordered wings with the 'wing of the week' sauce. They were wood fired and briefly fried, topped with Korean sweet chili style sauce that were quite excellent. The texture was perfect and the wood fire flavor definitely shines. The staff were great. They were friendly and quick to respond at the counter and quick to give great advice when ordering. The venue is a walk-up-counter order service we have all come to know and though they don't offer alcohol on the restaurant side, they have service windows on the Frog Alley Brewing side. On the restaurant side there were two tables for two and one LONG table that could seat many. You can also order using your phone and they will text you when your order is ready. A great option if you don't mind running two different tabs. Knowing and understanding the business model they have, the food was a solid 4.7/5. read more

Don't walk, RUN! to the patio at Frog Alley Brewing and order Annabel's Pizza Co. to your table. Today was the perfect day to eat and drink al fresco! I really love the patio at Frog Alley. You don't even feel like you're in schnectady. It's so open and modern. Absolutely awesome atmosphere. The beers are pretty awesome too! For lunch we shared two pizzas from Annabels! It's so easy - I ordered and paid online and asked them to bring the pizzas to our table next door. Such an amazing set up that they are working together to support each other. We got the Soppressata and Burrata pizza with hot honey and the Red White and Blue buffalo pizza. Both were outstanding. The flavors on both pizzas were spot on and the bubbly, charred and chewy crust was phenomenal. The soppresata pizza was so well balanced with sweet and spicy. The buffalo pizza had a great cheese blend with blue cheese and the chicken was great and not dried out. I honestly have heard hit or miss reviews so I was extremely pleased! This pizzeria is part of the Frog Alley Brewery setup. Must have done super well when the brewery was operating at full capacity. A group of three of us got the Soppressata with Red Sauce, which is made with homemade tomato sauce and fresh sliced Italian Soppressata as the only topping. All the pizzas made are 12 inch, baked in a wood fire oven, and cut into 6 slices. Not too bad, assuming the other toppings would be a lot better from looking at the menu, which I look forward to trying in the future. This went for about $14 and was definitely filling for the three of us. We also got Frites with three sauces. The fries went for $6.50 by themselves and the three sauces were an additional $4.25. They were on the pricey side, but I actually enjoyed the fries better than the pizza itself. The Jalapeño Cilantro Lime is super underrated and my personal favorite, Truffle is as good as it can get, wouldn't recommend the Kale Pesto as it was just a cup of oil essentially. They have 21 different sauces so that surely will keep you coming back to try all of them. read more

I have mixed feelings in regards to my delivery order from Annabel's last night. We wanted a good wood fried pizza and we'd never tried here before. First, the wings were jumbo and cooked just perfectly. I love that the order comes with 13 which is absolutely unheard of these days. I picked the orchard gold sauce which is my local favorite. Annabel's fried pickles is a big stuck together clump of breading and pickles in a pile not even singularly separated so they could be easily eaten one by one. We needed to pull the stuck together pickles apart from the breading clump. What a gross mess. Their pizza is not good either. The crust is very doughy and not cooked enough. Sauce is tasteless. If there was a zero rating, Annabel's gets that. Unfortunately, Annabel's is the only food available in Frog Alley Brewery. Got us once, but never again. Frog Alley Brewery beer by the way gets maybe a 2 out of 5 for us at the table and we tried several beers. Not impressed. This is your best (maybe only) dining option at Frog's, especially good if you like carbs. They have order and pickup stations along one wall. Ordering is very convenient, and the pizza I ordered, a margherita, was ready in about 15 minutes. The flavor was good, but the crust was soggy everywhere except along the edge, it should have been cooked slightly longer. You guys seriously they make thhhheeeeee best margherita pizza I have tasted in a while .. it's a master piece! It's perfection! PEACH NACHOS ARE AWFUL I ordered fried artichoke and spicy peach nachos. Fried artichokes were pretty good, nachos were awful. Nachos had general tsos chicken, cheddar cheese,sweet potato waffle fries, and "spicy peach salsa". It baffles me how this dish ever made it to the menu. We loved the atmosphere of the place. We ordered wood fried pizza, wood fried wings and french fries. The dough of the pizza was not suitable for wood fried, it was too soft. Wings is a little dry. Fries were great. I loved the atmosphere so much that I can't care about the taste. read more

The food is great. Very delicious and yummy. However... the service. Oh god. They recently served picklepalooza at Indian leader farms with their food truck and all I can say is. UNPREPARED... the event started at 12:00 we place our orders at the food truck at 12:15. There was no line. Life seemed great. Everything was at ease. Wrong. Not only did they run out of buns, but their food also was not coming to temp, causing them to offer us a refund or to wait until their brisket came to temp.... My friends ordered a smash burger and fries. It took 53 minutes to be exact.... So many people were waiting for just tenders and fries way longer than us.. godbless their hungry souls lmao. Ultimately it comes down to the fact that the food truck was NOT PREPARED. I have worked as a kitchen manager, a delivery driver, counter girl, and server. Food service is in my core. They told my boyfriend they have a single tiny fryer and it was evident they were overloading it therefore the food wasn't cooking at the high temp it should be and therefore taking much longer. The menu looks very impressive... and distracting. We planned on trying a BLT (on focaccia bread) but changed gears when my spouse was enticed by the "pizzadilla" and wanted to share, so of course we were distracted and intrigued with the number of dipping sauces the offer with their "Frites". Let's start with what's good. The Frites (fries) are amazing! Hands down the best tasting, not greasy, perfectly uniformed cuts of Grade A potato! We could have gotten one sauce for $2.00 (dressing ramekin size) or 3 for $4.25. And the seasonal beer cheese is an additional $.50 up charge. We had to try three: bloody Mary, Sriracha, and seasonal beer cheese. The beer cheese was the best, and you really couldn't tell too much of a difference between the bloody Mary and the Sriracha. The Sriracha was a little pink or in color and tasted really garlicky it was more like an aïoli than a Sriracha dip. And the bloody Mary was like a horseradish garlic aïoli. Those fries would be awesome with gravy, but that isn't an option. Next time it's either catch-up or the beer cheese. They also have a neat rewards program. One point for every dollar Spent, and you get 20 points just for signing up. It's basically 10% spend $100 you get $10 off. Now we're going to progress on with where disaster struck. The pizzadilla. It's a giant quesadilla made with pizza dough stuffed with melted mozzarella, Feta, spinach, roasted red peppers, and pulled shredded chicken folded in half and cut into fours. First the mozzarella feta spinach roasted red peppers are absolutely phenomenal! The crust, or pizza dough, again absolutely phenomenal. But about halfway through eating the first quarter of it we both kind of looked at each other and said, the chicken is meh And if you used the side of marinara with the chicken parts, it was edible. There was something strange about it it had no real flavor it was just like plain pulled boiled chicken breast. A half hour later we are both paying for it dearly, it wasn't good chicken. So if we ever get that again, not going to have chicken in it. And I like chicken. It may not have been bad but it certainly wasn't good. My husband said, he should've stuck with the BLT. I'm sorry we didn't. But next time, if we have the urge to try it again, we think we're going to go with the pizza. They have an amazing list of pizzas both traditional and specialty. But again I'm going to be avoiding the chicken. The staff is really nice, the food comes out quickly, and they're the same owners as poundful bread. So they're worth at least a second try. But until then, I need to find something to settle my stomach! read more

Great service, great food. We got the Red, White, and Bleu (Buffalo) pizza for my girlfriend and me. Perfect size. Flavor profiles were different than most buffalo pizza I've had in the past - and that's not a bad thing. It was extremely good. I had to walk home afterward and the aroma from the pizza made the walk extra difficult - not because it smelled bad - but because I wanted to crack open the box and take a bite! Lastly, we got the Frites, and three dipping sauces. From the review below, I got the everything bagel - which was very good. My favorite was the Beer cheese sauce. I am happy that the business is thriving but if you call in an order and they tell you 40 minutes your order should be ready around 40 minutes. I did not get a text, it had been 40 minutes and when I asked they told me it would be another 15 minutes.... Ok, 20 minutes later i am told it is another 10 minutes. Needless to say we cancelled. We ordered the fried artichoke pizza and it was not good, especially for the price of $16. I love a thin crust pizza, but it was way too thin, no pizza crunch crust and extremely soggy. No flavor, no sauce and no wood fire taste. We will try it again because it's something new on State Street, walking distance from the Stockade and residents here are yearning for great food. We were in town tonight and my daughter who is a vegan saw the cashew cream pizza. So we decided to get takeout from here. Only some of the pizza had cashew cream-there was no drizzle as the name said, our eggplant came with no sauce, the Avocado was as hard as a rock on our salad, and we received no take napkins or silverware. I had the cashew cream pizza, veggies were cooked nicely and flavorful but they forgot to put the cashew cream drizzle on my pizza which I believe would have made it at least 4 stars. The earlier reviews were not very complementary while the more recent reviews are much more positive. Having just shared four different pizzas with a burrata salad and some beers at the adjacent Frog Alley Brewery, I can personally attest that the positive reviews are entirely accurate. The pizza place is take-out only, although there were a three or four seats to eat inside. Not much ambience, just eat and go. What a different environment existed on the other side of the wall separating the brewery from the pizzeria. We entered the brewery - more than ample space between spacious tables - placed our pizza order through a window in the common wall. The salad and pizzas were brought to our table. Each and every pizza was delicious in its own right. The crust was thin and well done as requested, toppings generous and flavorful, and the burrata perfect.
