I ordered a grilled chicken salad online actually 2 of them. it was $50 for two salads.. I decided to pick it up. I specified that I wanted extra cucumber. Upon picking up the salads i was told that they refused to do extra cucumber.as rude as that is I pay the $29 and leave. When I got home, 5mins away, and my salad is all lettuce, no cucumbers at all! I arrived here at the very end of a recent pizza tour, and was pretty stuffed already. But, upon walking in I was hit with the sights of about a dozen different types of pizza waiting to be eaten by the slice. My wife had the pepperoni, and I could only stare at the sausage which looked fantastic but I was too full to enjoy. The pizza was cooked perfectly, with a nice dark brown crust and enough chew to give a great mouth feel. The sauce was flavorful and the cheese nice and stretchy. The pepperoni caused a grease pool so deep that a lifeguard could have gotten a summer job here. I tried bites from my wife's and liked it a lot. It is similar to other good pizza places in town, and I wish I had a much emptier stomach when I came here. But, I got a pizza of Hawaiian pizza to go (yum) so I will get to enjoy this place again later tonight! read more

I recently ordered from this restaurant located on Union Street, Schenectady, N.Y. They used to be great. They stopped delivering service for many, many months after the pandemic so I was happy they were back to delivery. Unfortunately, I ordered the chicken wings and when they were delivered, there were five wings that were loaded with "fried" chicken feathers still attached to the wings!! Not sure how they didn't notice all of the feathers since some of the feathers were at least three inches long. Totally threw them all out. Fortunately, I will never be ordering from them again. The "I Love" experience. Usually when I go there it's chaotic but the business is prompt. Parking can be tough and there is limited available seating in the Dining room....if you can call it that. Hehe. Anyway...I don't think I have ever stayed there to eat. I always pickup and run. Generally I feel their pizza pie comes out great. I love NYC style pizza and usually they get it pretty close. Lately, though, I don't know what is going on. The last three to four times ordering from there, I have experienced burnt pizza both on the crust and bottom. That just seems to ruin my experience. Anyone who knows me knows my natural aversion to anything remotely be-speckled by the black ash. I think it goes back to the days when my dad would make toast, and he always had a knack for burning it and then serving it- saying it still tastes good. Eat it. (Did I mention he likes pretty much all types of bread, seasoned with black dust??) But I digress. I just prefer not to have charcoal flavored pizza, maybe that's just me. Hopefully they can figure that problem out soon. Maybe their oven temp is hotter than their thermometer is reading...Maybe they get too busy and forget to take it out in time and they don't care...Maybe they are thinking "Hey we mostly serve high-school and college kids, they have indiscriminate taste...so they won't care." Well some of us do care and not all of us are college kids anymore. As an aside, I had a slice of BBQ chicken pizza with my wife and that wasn't burnt. Usually it's not the specialty pizza's that are effected, seems to happen to me more with the cheese and pepperoni variety. Too bad, because that's my favorite. I love, I LOVE NY Pizza. It's just time they get their act together once again. Please OH PLEASE check your pizza before it's too late. Like someone else said, pizza is subjective, but this is unbeatable. No longer in the area, but had been going here since 2008 and any time I go back to Schenectady, it is at the top of the list. I recently moved to NYC and was expecting all pizza to be great, but was actually let down. *None* of it really came close to "I Love." I'm still searching for a duplicate of this place in NYC. Pizza slices themselves are quite large as you would expect from a "NY" slice, but they are not paper-thin like some other places. So you will actually fill up on 2 slices. Thin enough slices that they are not spongey, though. Crust is browned on the bottom and crunchy enough. I haven't ordered a whole pie before so I can't rate that. read more

The Not-to-be-legally-confused-with-similarly-named-enterprises I Love NY Pizza of Schenectady offers fairly standard NY style floppy pizza, and a fairly large menu of side items including fairly decent hot wings and fairly disgusting (white parts of the iceberg/romaine, fake paremsan cheese, industrial dressing, etc.) salads. Our pizzas have had burnt crusts on both visits, but surprisingly fresh vegetables and decent-tasting meat, with somewhat indifferent cheese and sauce. The service is prompt (the counter can be a bit chaotic on busy nights, but the staff multi-process, so hang in there) and the prices, while not on the bargain side, are not expensive either. Pizza sizes are by cuts (the 12-cut being the biggest, and being much smaller than the epic large floppy styles of NYC, but that's more to our liking anyway). The seating is quite limited and parking can be difficult, so it seems more suited to take-out or delivery than dining in. Maybe the burned crust bothered me too much, but that jarring little taste bomb of charred flour tends to sully what would have been an otherwise OK pizza experience. For now we'll leave them with a somewhat marginal three stars, on the low side, and probably put them at the bottom of our Upper Union Business Improvement District Pizza list, but not so far down we won't try them again down the road to see if they can do better. read more

The order was placed via grub hub, which gave me an estimated time frame of an hour. Ok, cool Then it changed to an hour and 20 minutes, then an hour 45 minutes. Finally showed up just under2 hours later. Cold, and like it has been sitting out all day. Nasty. Grub hub did refund me $7 for late delivery, but the order for pizza and cheese sticks was $47! Enjoyed a piece of cheese pizza as part of Yelp's Tour de Slice. Out of the five different pizza slices I tasted, I love NY was in a close run for second place. The crust was thin and had some crispness. It was a bit greasy, but it was not dripping off the pizza. The end crust was crisp on the outside with a perfect thickness. Word of advice: Never call to order food for delivery directly through them. When you call to order, the people who answer the phone are rude and condensending, just because you want delivery. The redirect you to a website -which I thought was poor customer service. The food is medicore at best. The crispy chicken on my wifes salad was fried garbage that was dry and tasted old. The quality and flavor of the chicken wings is poor, and they are NOT jumbo, despite what they advertise. The sicilian pizza; the sauce was flavorless, not overly thick and was burnt. I think they just called it a sicilian pizza because it was square, and should probably research was siclian pizza actually us. And because I was pretty much forced into picking up because I didn't want to order online, when me and my two young daughters walked in, the patrons were less than desirable and made the whole atmosphere strange. For upper union street it was unsettling to see such an unpleasant crowd that not only made myself uncomfortable, but my daughters as well. I ordered pizza slices for delivery from I love New York on Union Street, Schenectady. One slice came with 2 pieces of pepperoni and the other with 3 pieces. I called to make them aware and the guy on the other end responded by saying 'What do you expect for $3, 15 pieces of pepperoni? I kid you not! Taken aback now, I texted him a photo and he had the audacity to suggest that I tampered with it! A simple apology would have been sufficient as it could have been an oversight or mistake, but to be so rude and unprofessional is really unacceptable . I've been getting boneless wings from them for ever and have loved the strips of chicken that made up their wings. It was a great deal for $12. But now though, they've changed from chicken strips to Teeny Tiny nuggets which are totally not worth it anymore. Basically they are charging $12 for 12 chicken nugget-sized pieces. Let's start off with the fact that I'm from NYC and have some knowledge as to good pizza. Having said that, there are other variables to the equation for which the basis of a review are based on, including customer service. The other night, as I proceeded to pick up a called in order, my first interaction was with the Hispanic man in shorts behind the counter whose crappy attitude and rude manner set the tone for the remainder of the experience. Apparently the owner was not around and he felt the need to assert his displeasure with his job at paying customers. At a different point in my life, that little interaction would have been very memorable for him. But I digress. After establishing the order, and the fact that I was 10 minutes early, he more or less told me in his crappy manner that it will not be ready until the time promised. Did I mention that my uncle owned a pizza place in Queens and I worked making and selling pizza in my youth? Standing by the counter I observed carefully that the pizza was in fact ready, as were the extra special order slices and garlic knots. For some vengeful reason, he wanted to taunt me and teach me a lesson for being there 10 minutes early, so they sat on top of the oven. On the hour, a man that may have been the owner walked in and started to move things around in a somewhat expedited fashion, and noticing the boxes handed them to me. As to the food, the garlic knots resemble large marbles. It's flour and water for crying out loud. How pathetically cheap can you get? And the glistering liquid in which they swim in is undoubtedly NOT olive oil so why skimp? Not everyone is a stoned college student that has the munchies. The specialty slices were burnt, as it is usually indicative of black corners, not well done by any means, BURNT. The large pie was entertaining in that if you slice a circle into multiple thin slices, you could claim it provides multiple servings. Perhaps if it were finger food or appetizers. Once again, flour, water, yeast, canned tomato sauce, sub par oil and economy bulk cheese. I know the profit margin. In a location with so many pizza establishments, why not stand out in quality. The taste is good, which gives you a heads up above Pizza Hut, but why stop there? You call it NYC pizza and have all those nice photos of NYC sport moments, carry the tradition sincerely rather than just in name. read more

Sauce isn't overwhelming as some pizza places in the area have an overly sweet sauce which I find unpleasant. Toppings were generously topped and the price was reasonable. Coming from Brooklyn, I'd like to say that I know how to judge my pizza. Surprisingly this place isn't bad. The crust is crisp yet soft on the inside. The cheese is just right and the sauce is well seasoned. Not the greatest pizza I've had in the world. But eons better than some of the pizza in the area. The staff is very friendly--all smiles there. So that's another thumbs up. Overall a well rounded restaurant that will continue to get my business as long as I'm in the area. The reason why I'm not giving this place that one extra star is because of the flies in the place. There are dozens of them buzzing around. My family has ordered pizza from I Love NY Pizza at least 3x and have been disappointed with it in some way each time. I Love NY Pizza in the Upper Union Street district of Schenectady is one of the better pizza places I've found in the area, and is an occasional pizza stop for me. I Love NY Pizza serves a thin crust, New York style pizza and they do a good job at it, even near closing time when slices of pizza should normally be getting a bit stale at other places (the pizza still tastes fresh here). The restaurant is typical for a pizza place, which seems to handle mostly takeout and delivery orders, so you have the counter, easy to spot oven on premises and a few tables. Definitely worth checking out if you're in Schenectady and want pizza. read more
