her plain and a pepper cheese (?) scone with the delicious spread in the back

She is the sweetest and kind baker ever! Tried her on a whim for the first time at her kitchen location since I keep missing her at the Campbells Farmer's Market, and that was the BEST. SCONE. EVER. the jam spread adds a perfect touch, and even a day after of picking up her scones it was not dry at all! Such talent and cannot wait to try her other goodies!

    Triple Chocolate Brownie. So good.

Imagine my delight when I received this package of baked goodies from my dear friend Britt C. for the holidays. My gourmet brownie box contained: 2 S'mores Brownies, 2 Triple Chocolate Brownies, & 2 Oreo Brookies (aka Slutty Brownies). They were each wrapped in cellophane to keep them fresh. The S'mores Brownie had a layer of marshmallow topping over the brownie and was topped with a graham cracker. OMG! It was amazing. Even better than actual S'mores. The Triple Chocolate Brownie was soft & fudgy in the center with a thin crispy top. It contained chunks of while, milk, & dark chocolate inside. It was so good. The Oreo Brookie had a brownie base with a chocolate chip bar cookie on top. I cut it in half and was surprised to find an Oreo Cookie baked in the center. Oh My! No wonder it's nik-named the Slutty Brownie. It was sinfully delicious. I enjoyed each one of these decadent treats. They were even better warmed up. I could tell they were made with quality ingredients. The brownies were thoughtfully packaged and came with a card with tips on how to store your treats (assuming they last more than a day. LOL!) There was also a sweet note from my friend. What a fantastic gift! I definitely recommend. *Anna Olivia bakes her delicious treats in small batches and sells them locally ever Saturday at the Willow Glenn Farmer's Market. If you are not fortunate enough to live in the San Jose area you can order her baked goods online at annaoliviabakes.com

I have ordered from Anna Olivia Bakes on Etsy. I love shopping from small businesses, especially at the holidays. Everyone so far has enjoyed their treats. I will order soon for my family so I can try them out. The pictures I have received from friends and family everything looks delicious. My precious niece likes the s'more brownies the best. When having to reach the owner she has messaged me right back. Would definitely order again in the future.

    Pickle & cheddar scones

I've been addicted to Anna's products - sticky toffee pudding and new scone flavor, pickle & cheddar! Omg! this flavor is out of this world. You have to try this. Available at Willow Glen & Campbell Farmers Markets.

The wife and I found this stand at the Campbell Farmer's Market this morning and were pleasantly surprised by how delicious the pies are. The owner is very friendly and helpful, and she explained she has been in business for about 18 months now. She sells scones, cookies, pies, brownies, cream puffs, etc. You can also find the Anna Olivia stand at the Willow Glen Farmer's Market as well as do special orders online. I highly recommend the banoffee pie and the key lime pie. The banoffee pie has sliced bananas, toffee flavored cream, fresh whipped cream, and generous chocolate shavings. And the key lime pie is an elevated version of classic key lime pie with a homemade graham cracker crust. Both are simply amazing!

One queue was for online orders (recommended by the bakehouse) and the other was manned by an attendant with a tablet and a printed menu. Parking wasn't a hassle this time as there were plenty of spots. Add the fact that we were now familiar with Vietnam Town. We got our usuals with choux (Kaya and Ube), Pandan-Coconut Milk Bread and Banh Bo (honeycomb cake). The mention worthy Guava filled Mochi Cake was so good! A yummy tip that elevates this baked good was when I toasted it (4 minutes) in an airfryer. The crunchy surface with the chewy mochi texture plus the sweet guava stuffing was the perfect ratio I was looking for in a dessert pastry. Can't wait to go back and have more of the guava filled goodness!

It was an odd combination of flavors. It wasn't burnt but tasted like it/bitter and heavy on the butter. I would come back for the bánh bò for sure though!

It is located next to the grocery store Nobhill and there are quick 20min parking in front of the store. We were greeted right when we entered the door and looked at the delicious treats to eat. The sign in front of the store had some drink specials and I got a strawberry/matcha drink I think it was called Rose. I asked what was good here and the cashier said the mini almond pastries and other treats in the front. The mini almond pastry was really good and also got a crème brûlée which was really good as well. I would come back again and try their hot teas next time. Delicious treats. Don't sleep on the black pepper sausage danish: the croissant dough is crisp and flaky, and doesn't get soggy when baked around the sausage. It's comparable in execution to the Croissant Hot Dog served at Dominique Ansel Las Vegas (in Caesar's Palace), but at a way more accessible price point. Which isn't to say this place is cheap; like many artisanal bakeries in California, it comes with a premium price tag, but at least it's not Dominique Ansel pricy. Croissante's croissant dough baked goods (viennoiserie) is pun-intended "proof" that you get what you pay for. The dining space is limited and lively. Conversing is a little tough, but if you just need a place to sit while eating, it's just right. Extra special shout out this time to Dill who had informed me the fried chicken dishes today would be an hour and a half wait. After deciding there wasn't anything I wanted more than the Fried Chicken and Spiced Croffle (croissant dough baked in a waffle iron) and was happy to wait, they were nice enough to check in with the kitchen and see if it could be made sooner than that. I didn't expect to be accommodated, so I was happy they were able to do that. You get two chicken thighs and croffles per order. It's enough for two light eaters to share.

Even the malasadas were underwhelming and if you think they are similar to Leonard's, then this does not come close. For the Portuguese tarts, they were served a bit cold. I'd recommend reheating them. The crust was so oily it seeped through the napkin and the filling was overly sweet. I took one bite and couldn't finish it. Overall, the texture and flavor didn't meet expectations. Service was decent but the staff were not friendly. This was a bit of a letdown. If you can, I'd suggest driving or taking the train to SF for this better spot, Holy Nata. It was so much better.

I got the longanisa sando. The bread was just like the typical shokupan you can find in japan. Fluffy, with a hint of sweetness. The sando's meat worked very well with the sandwich. The egg was a very nice combination too. My only complaint is that the egg could've also been fluffier, more soft and raw where egg here was pretty hard and firm. Also, it would've been good to have egg flavored with dashi or more butter, but that's all just my personal preference. The cheese really bind the meat and the egg well. What I have to mention is the habanero sauce (Or I think it was? You can see in the pic the label was kinda washed out so I'm not sure exactly what the sauce was). Perfect amount of spicy kick and a sweetness combined. Using the sauce really took up the sandwich by a notch but it might not be for everyone since it is rather spicy. The staff were very friendly and the inside had a good chill vibe with good back ground music. I'd definitely want to be back to try out more!
