But finally I did and boy am I happy. Very much a family affair - husband and wife who share maitre'd and server responsibilities. And other relatives in the kitchen cooking up a storm. What first grabbed my attention were the huge number of dosas they offer. Seeing any dosa on a menu at all is a rarity and so to see the wide variety they feature was amazing. I opted for the Andhra Kara Masala and it was excellent. The dosa itself crispy and warm and the condiments beautifully integrated. We opted for the mixed veggie pakoras as an appetizer on the recommendation of the owner and they were served warm and crispy. The batter was light - nothing like the thick sludge that usually adorns the deep fried nuggets of vegetable delight. The accompanying tamarind sauce was sweet and clean and the mint-cilantro suitably refreshing. Lovey got garlic naan and saag paneer. Smooth and creamy, the saag was exactly as hoped for and the garlic naan was chewy, warm and toothsome. Dessert was carrot halwa. Hard to believe carrots make such an excellent warm dessert but they do. Richly satisfying with just the right touch of sweetness. We look forward to returning and sampling the rest of the menu!

An explosion of flavor that still has me drooling. I'm not exaggerating when I say I could drink a gallon of it. The garlic naan was dangerously good -- soft, fluffy, warm, and so flavorful I could have eaten pounds of it without stopping. We ordered the pork momo and my husband absolutely loved them. I wanted them so badly, but sadly I'm allergic to onions. I truly wish they'd offer a scallion-only version because scallions add beautiful flavor without overpowering like onions do -- and I would preorder them in bulk! Even with my allergy limitations (yes, I risked a bite of the samosa because I couldn't resist), this place makes my taste buds so happy. The staff was kind, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful in guiding me toward safe options. Incredible food. Incredible flavor. Excellent service. I'll definitely be back!

The Best North Indian Restaurant I Have Found…read more For a long time, I had been searching for an authentic North Indian restaurant that truly delivers outstanding food. One day, while I was in Salem, New Hampshire, I discovered Kashmir Indian Cuisine, and it turned out to be one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. I visited the restaurant with a group of friends, and we thoroughly enjoyed the tandoori specialties. The Chicken Tikka, Chicken Seekh Kabab, Tandoori Chicken, Garlic Naan, and Tandoori Roti were all cooked to perfection. We also tried the Haddock Pakora as an appetizer, which was absolutely delicious. Other favorites included the Chicken Saag, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Aloo Gobi. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and prepared with authentic North Indian spices. What made the experience even more enjoyable was the warm hospitality. The owner and the entire staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely cared about making every guest feel welcome. I was so impressed that I later hired Kashmir Indian Cuisine to cater my daughter's engagement celebration. The food was exceptional, and every guest complimented the quality, taste, and beautiful presentation. Their catering helped make our special occasion even more memorable. If you truly enjoy authentic North Indian cuisine, I highly recommend giving Kashmir Indian Cuisine a try. Make the drive just once, and I'm confident you'll enjoy the experience as much as I did. Highly recommended! Gursharan S. Gill Mr. Gill Newport Restaurant Group

I have been coming here since shortly after they opened, and it has always been one of my favorite…read morerestaurants. I almost always sit at the bar and order the Mixed Tandoori Grill because it has consistently been generous, well-prepared, and worth the price. Unfortunately, my experience tonight was incredibly disappointing. The service at the bar was poor. Although there were other guests there--many of whom appeared to be regulars--the bartender spent most of his time chatting with them and largely ignored me. I had to ask three separate times before I finally received service. When my meal arrived, it was nowhere near the quality or portion I have come to expect. The Mixed Grill, which has always included generous portions of lamb, chicken, and shrimp, consisted almost entirely of chicken, with only about two small pieces of lamb and a single shrimp. It was a dramatic difference from what has been served for years. I politely mentioned this to the bartender, and his response was simply, "Tough times, less food." I found that response both dismissive and disappointing. If portions have been reduced, customers should not be paying the same premium prices without any acknowledgment. After years of consistently great meals, this was genuinely sad to experience. Spending nearly $75 on a meal that felt significantly diminished in both quality and value is hard to justify. Because of my long history with this restaurant, I may give it one more chance, but based on this visit, I cannot recommend it. It was a very disappointing experience from both a service and food standpoint.

Sladen was the chef and came out to check on everything we ordered. Both Dee and I got plain and garlic Naan bread which was awesome. I had the Tandoori chicken served with rice and sauce and Dee had the Chana Masala which was a moderately spicy, hearty and saucy chickpea and tomato dish with Indian spices. Both dishes were huge and I took home enough for 2 more meals. The Tandoori chicken which was actually a one-half Cornish Hen marinated in yogurt and spices served was only $24 and Dee's was $18. They've been around since January and I talked to Harry, who was a friendly employee working the front of the store, who helped me pick my lunch, as I'm pretty new to Indian cuisine. I got the lamb masala lunch special and it was tasty and flavorful. They came with 3 complimentary sauces, tamarind and a chutney and 1 more I'm not sure of. The portion of meat was on the small side but very tasty. My one issue was I asked for medium spice; it was extremely fire hot spicy and I'm a pro. I can't imagine what that next level up tastes like but I'm scared. Be wary that most people should start on the lowest spice level. I also got the Paneer Naan and veggie Korma. The store was small and had a waiting area with a few chairs, a kiosk to order and a bar style table to eat in if you're solo or a party of 2, but it's clearly intended as a takeout restaurant. Prices were moderate and on par for Needham. I will definitely be back and I'm looking forward to trying more menu items, especially the Biryani.
