Ok since moving to Lynn my work schedule has hindered me getting out to try the food. I picked up my suit for Joe's ceremony next Friday and did some food shopping and everyone knows food shopping just makes you hungry. I heard a lot of good things about Kennedy's fried chicken on Chestnut Street, I was coming home and there was a parking spot open so stopped in. I only wanted two pieces of chicken one thing I've noticed about Spanish people, they want everyone to try their rice, so the owner tossed in a container of rice for me to try, he said you'll love it. I just had the best piece of fried chicken I've had in 30 years, I ate that shit down to the bones, the skin was nice and crispy, the chicken was moist and juicy, the rice was good traditional rice I will definitely be going there more often it's less than a half mile from my house read more

Came to pick up some chicken here last minute with my son. Service was pretty quick since we only drove about 15 minutes from the house with no traffic. It was not busy when we got there maybe because they were about to close in half an hour when we arrive. Staff was nice and they even gave us rice on the house and some extra chicken and it made my son happy. Chicken was nice and crispy. The rice was good too, a little on the spicy side but it was delicious. The place was quiet and had some seating available if guests would like to sit and eat. Since making my first review. They have improved their consistency with their chicken and opening within the hours they have listed. You still need to wait until at least 10:15 for chicken to be ready to be fried and the oil to be hot. The customer service is always 5 stars as they treat you like family. One of the newest items I've tried is their Gyro! They are delicious and the veggies are always fresh that go into it. The chicken, whether fried or grilled, is always seasoned properly. I suggest you go early to afternoon to get the freshest meal served to you. I presume they close either between 9p-10pm. But they definitely are not open until midnight. If you're nice & have to wait, they will even treat you with a free piece of chicken for your patience! read more

So I am not a MA local, I was a tourist visiting Salem with my best friend and we were starving after a whole day of sightseeing. We stumbled on this place and it was amazing! The chicken was so seasoned to perfection, one of the best I've ever had. We also got the buffalo wings which are also amazing, the sauce was super savory. The owner was super cool and nice and we chatted for a bit, I believe he said this was a family business that he is helping his father run. Better chicken than Popeye's or any of the fancy expensive hipster places in the city. Really flavorful, well seasoned, and the perfect amount of coating. Not greasy at all. And it looks like they use small chickens (the drumsticks are the most obvious), so it's not tough and fatty like larger chickens that other places use. I have a hunch these guys even butcher their own birds because you might get wings with the tips still on or a crispy (and delicious) neck. I highly doubt there's any factory processed chicken here. And the rice alone is enough reason to come back. The spicy rice is basically like vegetable biryani with peppers, potatoes, and we even found a piece of preserved lemon in there! And fried chicken and spicy rice are actually an awesome combo. This place isn't fancy at all, the food and staff are A+. The guys only stopped cleaning to say hello and pack my food. Went here last week with the boyfriend and for $20, we got large fries and 12 chicken pieces. Plus a couple of dinner rolls. The owner was super friendly and actually gave us an extra piece totalling to 13 pieces! Upon talking with him more, he gave us some free rice after he found out I was from Canada. This restaurant was probably the most welcoming and has the nicest staff I've ever been in the States. I'm definitely coming back. CHICKEN: it had a nice and crispy thin batter. Nothing like Popeyes or KFC. Was seasoned simply but perfectly. We drove 20minutes home and it remained hot and juicy all that time. To anyone who cares, his chicken weren't like the usual you'd find anywhere else that's been fed god knows what that they've grown to twice the normal size of chicken. It was mad nice to get something like that FRIES: done absolutely perfectly. The only fries that were better were Canada Costco fries (and those are a legend). Better than any of the fast food restaurants out there. RICE: had that lovely middle Eastern group of spices. I loved it! One day I was in line and a woman came in requesting a food donation for a church. The owner was so gracious and kind and giving. Great guy with a big smile and a positive attitude.
