I LOVE this place. i love it for take-out, I love it for dining in, and I love the bar. Both bartenders are amazing, personable, and accommodating. They are very welcoming and friendly.
The food here is delicious. The naan is perfect. Try the garlic, keema (minced lamb), or, for those with a sweet tooth, the pashwary (naan with cashews, coconut, and honey).
The entrees are amazing; perfectly seasoned, balanced, and warm. The vegetable korma has an aroma unmatched elsewhere on earth. The lamb tikka masala is so rich, creamy, with the right amount of spice. The baingan bartha (mashed eggplant) is a model of perfectly balanced flavors coming together to form a singular, complex, and satisfying taste.
Did I mention they make their own cheese? try the paneer pekoras, or any of the appetizers, to be honest. The veggie pekoras are my favorite.
Thirsty? Have a mango lassi (or two or three). This mango and yogurt "shake" is perfect relief on a hot day and a fun treat at any time. Try one with Captian Morgan mixed in. Thank me later.
As if all of this wasn't enough, they offer four different variations of house-made ice cream. I LOVE pistachio ice cream and Anmol makes the best I've ever had. They also make what the menu calls "exotic Indian ince cream" caoted with ground pistachios. Order them both; trust me. The rice pudding is also a glorious dessert.
Anmol is one of my favorite restaurants. I've never had a bad meal and have gotten take-out, delivery, or eaten in dozens of times. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. They had a special buffet several weeks ago that allowed some of their patrons to try new things that they might not invest a hole meal into ordering. they also had off-the-menu items including goat curry, which I especially enjoyed.
I don't know how this place gets overlooked amidst the Wild Horses and Somas of Beverly but it's a great place to come with a date or some friends. The takeout doesn't suffer a drop-off in quality and with so many amazing things to order, there is plenty to keep your palate happy and engaged. I live a few blocks away but would drive from out of town to come here and know several folks who do.
Anmol is an absolute gem. read more
