Acai MIM Make It Mine Smoothie Bowl
    Jessica G.

Beautifully assembled açaí bowl, they clearly put some thought into the aesthetics, which is greatly appreciated. I customized my own bowl, which turned out pretty well. Proportions were good - the base, fruit, granola, honey. The total amount in the bowl was good as well, but it might not be as much as other places. I was surprised by how long it kept. I ate it over the course of an hour, and it didn't get too mushy / runny.

This is the Heels Bowl with added strawberries. Delicious!!

I love Anissa's Spot! They have a beautiful calming ambience and great vibe. The staff is always friendly, especially Q, and their açaí bowls and smoothies are amazing!

I join the other reviewers who gave 5 stars for Anissa's Spot. This cute coffee and açaí shop is a bright addition to the strip mall on this part of NC 55. It's tucked at the back, but once you are inside you are welcomed by the friendly staff. A lady ahead of me overheard that it was my first time in. She said their açaí bowls are worth trying. She is right. My Eagle Eye bowl was done well. A crunchy granola base mixed with blended superfoods and topped with bananas, honey, and chia seeds. I added a regular house iced coffee with oat milk to my order. It was the breakfast I needed to start my day off right. Anissa's Spot has a sitting area at the back where you can hang out and knock out some work if you have your laptop. I took time to catch up on messages from my coworkers. It wasn't busy, so I had some relative peace for what I needed to catch up on.

I learned about Anissa's Spot at the recommendation of my trainer/owner Tyrone Irby of Together We Stand Gym (next door). He told me about the variety of smoothies, fruit bowls, coffees and sandwich options. So after my workout I decided to stop in a grab a healthy intake of a protein filled smoothie. I got the mango pineapple w/vegan protein. Immediately as I entered I was greeted, "welcome to Anissa's Spot" from a smiling, pleasant associate (this goes a long way and determines a return visit). Needless to say I will be back... but here's why I will be back and why you should come and visit but not just come in a grab a smoothie but spend a little time here. The atmosphere is so inviting... there's ample space to sit comfortably and enjoy your smoothie, coffee, or food. From high tops to dining tables and even a lounge area. In the background there's nice tunes not too loud or too low just the right volume that you're not distracted or heard if you're in conversation or concentration. The spot is airy and fresh, very clean, elegant light fixture that adds a taste of sophisticated decor. This will definitely be my hangout spot when I'm Durham both after workouts and just to stop by. If you're in the area you should check the spot (Anissa's) out

One of the best açaí bowls I've ever had! They have premade bowls if you have a favorite combination. This one has blueberries and bananas. But if you're feeling adventurous or want to try new combos, they also offer a build your own option. If you're feeling something more hearty, they have sandwiches available as well, but I would not leave this place without grabbing one of these! We sat outside since we had our dogs with us, and they were so nice to being our food out on a tray so we didn't have to move! Talk about excellent service!

This is a new coffee shop in the area. I tried their coffee, Acai bowl & smoothies. Good place to hangout with friends and family. Friendly staff and decent ambience. I would prefer smoothies & Açaí bowl than their cappuccino.

Iced Caramel coffee and a hot pumpkin spice latte.

I'm not even a big fan of pumpkin but the Pumpkin spice latte was delish. It's the perfect blend of flavor and spice! 10x better than Starbucks

If y'all haven't been, you NEED to go to Anissa's Spot in Durham! I went for the first time today and it was amazing! The young ladies working were welcoming and professional. The ambiance was top notch too! Bright and viabrant colors, clean and smelled amazing! They have everything from merch to coffee, açaí bowl, smoothies, and more. Build your own or pick something off their menu. Also the staff was nice enough to make recommendations! I got an açaí bowl, and it did not disappoint! I'll definitely be joining their awards program and be going back!

Friendly service, and delicious açaí bowl! The bowl is super fresh and not overly sweet. Will definitely come back to try the coffee and other food.

We had hear about this spot but never came until we got a coupon in the mail. It's in a strip that is not very visible from the road, so follow GPS if you got it. I ordered the Dukester acai bowl with blackberries and my wife got the Heels Up bowl acai bowl with bananas. We're not really familiar with acai bowls but thought it would come with acai berries or syrup. The bowls were filling, and we ended up taking leftovers home with us. They also have smoothies and limited coffee options. I might stop by again when my car is at the AAA service center. Happy to know that this is a Black woman-owned business.

A few minutes later we received our beverages. We found a couple chairs with a small table in between. The table was dirty so I asked for a towel or rag to clean the table with. I received confused looks from the two employees that were standing behind the counter. They didn't have a rag to clean with so they told me to use wet napkins to clean the table. The response wasn't what I expected, but I got the impression the employees don't clean this establishment. They had no idea what to do. Kind of strange. I used water and a pile of napkins to clean everything off onto the floor. Other than that, the coffee and atmosphere were good. Not sure we'll return. It is a cool place though.

The outside patio has cushy lounge seats, perfect for soaking up sunshine (though it's right by the highway, so some outdoor spots come with a bit of traffic noise during rush hours). This place is a dream for remote work. Every table is so spread out (esp outdoor) that you don't overhear other conversations, no loud music, and sunlight streaming in from every corner. Service was quick and thoughtfully accommodating. I appreciated that they bring food in a to-go container if you're sitting outside, so you're not stuck carrying plates back. And bonus points for their commitment to using sustainable packaging. The coffee was quite delicious! Jubala Coffee actually makes a type of specialty beans roasted just for F&F. Their drink menu is on the simpler side, but they usually have a couple of seasonal lattes, and everything I tried tasted great. Food-wise, it's a gem: generous portions, very reasonably priced, and flavorful. It reminded me a bit of Fount Kitchen in its "organic, healthy" vibe, but with more non-vegetarian options and even better flavor. There's plenty of parking right out front, but sadly they close at 2:30pm, so it's more of a morning or lunch spot. All in all, a wonderful place for a morning work sesh or a work lunch in style!

The coffee options were plentiful, with options for whatever your preferences may be whether you're more of a coffee enthusiast looking for lighter roast to taste all the notes, or enjoy more flavored and decadent drinks. One thing that was an incredibly exciting surprise the last time I went were the whole beans they had for sale from Fritz Coffee (imported from Korea im pretty sure). I had to grab a bag despite them being a bit pricey as they were freshly roasted too (price was expected for something like that). Pairing with the yogurt made it taste a lot better though. Service was friendly and the prices were reasonable. My only complaint was that there were no refills. That's unusual for black, drip coffee.
