It's a cute little place, with a minimal amount of seating downstairs, but there is more upstairs. I got the turkey ham sandwich with "special sauce". Husband got the roast beef one with chipotle mayo. They were both delicious, although we couldn't tell a difference in the dipping mayos. Love that they are avocado oil based ones, and meats are nitrate-free. Bread is gluten-free. Husband got a cold coffee shake that he really liked as well. You order at the counter right by the front door, and there's ample seating inside and upstairs. Aesthetic is dark wood, local murals, and hipster lights. This would be a nice place to get some work done as a coffeeshop alternative. We ordered the chocolate fix bowl, a turkey and ham dipper, and one of their oopskey mystery smoothies. I got one item for free as part of a Yelp Elite event, and they were kind enough to point out which item was the most expensive to make free. The chocolate fix bowl and Oopskey smoothies were super thick and lucious. Spoons, not straws, for these! The chocolate bowl was chocolatey without being too much, and the granola, coconut, and chocolate chips added a nice crunch and additional sweetness. The Oopskey was a fun mix of random smoothies. My guess is that they save whatever is leftover in the blender from making ordered smoothies and sell it for half price. Mine had some tasty nut butter smoothie (light brown) and a sweet and fruity pink smoothie that I assume was strawberry, but the bulk was purple and I assume blueberry. I honestly didn't love it at first taste - it had some aftertaste that is maybe the protein powder? - but it grew on me enough to finish it (though I probably wouldn't order it again). Overall, a fun adventure and a great deal at $6. I would get this again and try some different colors. Finally, the dipper was a turkey and ham sandwich on gluten free bread and pressed like a panino. It came generously stuffed, and the bread didn't taste like it was gluten free. The only downside is that the food is fairly pricey, but the smoothies were well made, delicious, and filling. Have been meaning to come here for some time since I've moved to NC and was not disappointed. Food: I ordered a smoothie bowl because I've been craving açaí bowls. I chose the strawberry bowl as is. It was delicious and great flavor and texture. Not too sweet. I had to drive home 10 minutes before having any so I popped in the freezer for 5 minutes and texture was still great. Service: Clarence the manager I believe was extremely friendly and helpful. Great small talk about the area and the offerings while I waited. I came on a Thursday before 12pm so there was no1 there. I didn't wait long for the item. Checkout process and ordering is very simple. Ambiance: parking is VERY difficult. Even at the time I went I had to circle around to get a spot close by. All parking is metered. Still, the location is very welcoming. With two levels and nice wood seating and lighting. Nice if you want to come in and work quietly. Price: I will say this is very pricey for a smoothie. If it were an açaí bowl I MIGHT justify it. Ingredient are very fresh and bowl size is moderate (enough to save half)... But still.. Totally forgot that Oak House was closed on Sundays and I was needing some coffee, so I stopped in fully planning to just grab a cold brew from their super convenient cooler up front. However, at the recommendation of one of the employees, I tried their Bulletproof coffee. Espresso, coconut cream, a touch of maple syrup--YUM! It's a ton of flavor packed in a small cup, so don't let the size fool you. While I waited, there was a nice bench for me to sit on, but I'm sure that you could have also sat at any of the cute tables inside. read more

I was so happy to stumble upon Juice Keys! My mom and I both got the Blueberry Bliss Bowls and they were phenomenal. The consistency was perfect, not too liquid-y but not icee-ish either. I'm telling you, perfect blend! The ingredients were fresh and of great quality. The presentation was also beautiful! On top of that, the bowls were a great size! My mom couldn't finish hers and I forced myself to because it was that good! The juice shots were tasty and strong, and I loved the sustainability aspect of them being served in little glass jars. They focus on organic and gluten free ingredients, and the staff offered to use a special rinse on everything because I have a cashew allergy. The service really was great! Staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful with their suggestions all around! I looked up reviews prior to visiting and noticed complaints about sweetness. I think it's important to note they're not using artificial sweeteners or sugars. The bowls are sweet, but naturally sweetened. It doesn't feel overdone which I enjoy! Ok when I first walked in I was shocked by the prices. I was expecting to pay $6-10 for any one item, but the smoothie bowls averaged $13. The cashier took the time to walk me through their whole menu so I decided to just try it despite my initial shock. He recommended the blue-green zini smoothie. It came out two minutes later freshly made. It is THICCC. Like a milkshake. But it has a nuttiness to it because of the nut butters. I honestly shouldn't have forced myself to finish the whole 12 oz because I was full a third of the way in, but I did it because I wasn't sure if it would taste as good the next morning. I am so impressed by Juicekeys! Let's get the main barrier out of the way first: it's pricey. I got the seasonal smoothie bowl (carrot cake) and it was $14. However, it was SO FILLING. I probably ate a quarter of the bowl before saving the rest for later. My bowl had fruits, veggies, granola, all the usual suspects, but it tasted like a delicious dessert!
