The staff was very polite and accommodating. Clean location. I am not a fan of chicken tenders and thought the chicken was bland coated with a sweet sauce. The slaw was good, and the Mac and cheese was not for me. I'm not sure what the rave is, but that just my opinion. read more

Angry Chickz - The painting - Chicken Shop Near Me - Concord, California

Decided to check this place out since it's super close to my school and I drive past there often. The menu is pretty simple and you can easily adjust the spice level of the chicken, which I appreciate. Their portions are HUGE and I feel like you get a really good value for the price and the chicken is fresh and amazing! This is our go-to lunch spot when we are in the area! My only complaint, and this is really minute, is that the parking and seating can be limited. This is located in a pretty busy little strip and sometimes people have to park along the curb. Also, there isn't a lot of seating on the inside. They have maybe 4 tables. I feel like they could fit more but then people are often standing in line waiting so idk... Either way, great little spot for your hot chicken fix. read more

The first time I tried Angry Chickz, I ordered the Combo #1 with 2 sliders - medium spice. It was so good, loved it, though I thought I could handle a little bit more spice... next time. Went back there today for the 2nd time and this time I went for the hot. MAN! WTF?! The spice level jump between the two is SO drastic! Or, someone definitely had a heavy hand because it was NOT good! I took one bite, a big one at that and I immediately regretted my decision! LOL my nose was running, my eyes were watering, anything else I ate or drank just made it hotter! It sucked. I stopped eating it despite the fact I was HANGRY. I am not built for that! That is not enjoyable at all.. what so ever! LOL I'll stick to medium next time... but it'll be a hot min until I come back! You burned me! Also, the layout is weird when you walk in. It is too crammed at the doorway and gets super crowded and congested in that area. It also smelled a little funny, kind of like dirty mop water. read more

The food was really good, we tried a couple "sliders" and an angry Mac and cheese. I wouldn't call these sliders, they definitely seem like full size sandwiches to me, but hey no one's going to be mad they got more food than expected, right?!?! My only complaint was that they served me a sandwich that was way spicier than the one I ordered, but other than that I was happy with my food and would definitely go back. read more

Could use more seasoning. Ultimately another Dave's Hot Chicken. I love that they offer bowls, my husband loved it and my daughter loved the mac and cheese. read more

Angry Chickz - Angry Fries - Chicken Shop Near Me - Concord, California

If you have late night munchies, or just craving some quality chicken tenders, Angry Chickz is THE spot! Rodrigo welcomed us in as soon as we entered, and was quick to take our order. We were hesitant in choosing our desired spice levels as we had no clue just how spicy the different variations were, but Rodrigo was quick to provide us with samples of the spices. If you're like me & just want enough spice to add flavor to your chicken, the "MILD" level is the way to go. We ordered the "Angry Fries" which comes with sliced chicken tenders, their house slaw, and seasoned fries. When put together, this combination is beyond splendid. Coleslaw is just right, not too sweet, and the fries are fresh and still crispy despite being mixed in with the other ingredients. The dining area is very spacious and the inside is nice & cool if you're wanting to eat away from the summer heat. Very clean & well kept. 5/5 would recommend! read more

Visited on a weeknight. Cashier was unfriendly. Was immediately told that there are no refunds on food. If this is something the owner makes them say each time or are they receiving complaints? This is extremely rude and confusing thing to say. Would someone want a refund because the sandwich is too spicy or because the food is not good? Do you eat at your own risk? Ordered medium and hot sandwiches and side of Mac and cheese. It was a very long wait and we received our food served with cold fries. The sandwiches were average. The chicken was not crispy and lacked spice or sauce. There is definitely an inconsistency. The sandwiches were not made with the medium and hot level heat we ordered. The taste was exactly the same on both sandwiches. They were barely seasoned and spice was very mild and were NOT SPICY at all. The Mac and cheese needs seasoning and more cheese. The texture was dry on top and cheesier on the bottom. A bit pricey for hot chicken spot that doesn't serve what is advertised and a huge disappointment. Go to the other place in town. read more

Went to their Grand opening today and got in before numeral 100th guest. I went early enough to secure 55th spot and received a ticket for swag . I had recently been to Brentwoods Grand opening but got there too late and the line was way too long to wait. Even after I went back a few hours after the the Opening, it was way too long. I had heard that this Clayton/ Concord location was opening and I was more eager to go. After the relatively short wait( 40) mins; I had ordered the Angry Mac, Number 4 combo with the Buttered rice and slaw and pickles; and the 2 piece over white bread. I didn't get a drink which was surprising since I thought came with a combo. Loaded up on their special sauce and was out the door. It was a long line when I left but not as long as I previously encountered at other location. People are friendly and the place is super clean and plenty seating inside. I will definitely go back and try more of their menu and it is more of a convenient location which is a positive for me closer to work and home. read more

I wish Yelp did .5 stars cause I'm really giving this place a 3.5. I'm glad to have another restaurant open down the street from our house. This is a busy complex, but it doesn't mean that you won't find parking. It was opening day today so it was pretty busy, but they were prepared. The restaurant is very spacious and has a chill vibe. The worker who helped us was super friendly and gave her opinion on what to get. This place reminds me of Hot Boyz so I wanted to get a more spicy chicken sandwich thinking it would be like theirs. The girl said that their Hot is super spicy and that there are no refunds or exchanges if I found the chicken too spicy and honestly that didn't scare me, it actually enticed me haha My husband and I got the combo #1 which comes with 2 chicken sliders and fries for $16 and one angry mac for $13. The prices are decent considering how much you get. When you're done ordering you can grab their signature sauce which is like thousand island but better and ketchup and any other condiments you want. Our food took about 10 min which was pretty impressive considering how many people there were. We took our food home because it was packed so it was pretty loud in there. My thoughts on the food: I think it's decent, the chicken wasn't crispy (it only took a couple min to get home from the restaurant so it shouldn't have gotten soggy that quick) and to my disappointment, it wasn't spicy at all. If the slaw was a little more tangy, I feel like it would've made the slider a whole lot better. The Mac was alright as well, the chicken in the bowl was really flavorful and actually a little spicier than my hot sandwich which was confusing considering we got medium spice for the Mac, but it was good. All in all, I think this place is good if you want a decent chicken sandwich. I would definitely want to try them again once the crowd dies down to see if quality gets better! read more

I was SOOOOOO excited to eat there just to be let down. Here's my breakdown. The restaurant was clean but needs some help with the layout because it's very crowded at the register. I ordered the 2 slider meal with 1 being hot and the other being angry. The hot one was not hot at all, and the angry one was just warm, but then again, I love super hot foods, and unfortunately, they were dry and bland to boot. The fries were yummy. The mac- n- cheese was a huge letdown, the elbows were overcooked, and the cheese was just nasty and bland, and to be honest, kraft tastes better. I had this just once, and I'll give it another try, and I hope today was just anomaly. Also they're very expensive. read more

Wanted to try this place for a while and finally got around to it. Service was good. Food came out surprisingly fast for a fried chicken place. Words of advice. Take the heat levels serious. I figured it would be like most places with their claims of having spicy food. Well...I got the hot and had a good sweat going. It didn't take away from the flavor which was impressive. Chicken tenders are great! Loved the mild spice. Hot spice is hott, but worth it :) Welcoming staff

The chicken was good. It was spicy enough and not dry. However the sides were disappointing. I got a side of fries with my combo and they were stale and felt like they had been sitting for a while. Also got a side of Mac and cheese which was ok. The folks at the front counter were nice. I did try to call ahead but they couldn't take my order. Maybe because the location is new and hasn't gotten everything in order read more

I ordered from this place a couple times a week and today the lady at the desk made it to where I'll never go there again I asked for a water cup for water and she assumed I was going to put soda in it and denied me a water cup then I asked for one extra think of special sauce for my fries and was also denied saying her manager told her that everybody has to pay for everything that is more every previously time I've been there I've always gotten two sauces. read more

Second time coming here. Inside is super clean. Drink station was stocked and clean. Food came out quick, and was clearly hot and fresh! Highly recommend the Mac and cheese, esp if you come early enough to where the batch is fressshhh. Hot seasoning has a tiny kick, but tolerable. Turn it up a notch if you're looking for something to burn. Aracely took our order, AND made the food, AND brought it out to our table! Super kind and friendly to talk to. She checked back on us at our table to make sure everything was prepared right. Aracely delivered an incredible level of service I would not expect from any fast-casual dining place! Really rare to find a spot with good food AND good service. 10/10 will definitely recommend and come back to satisfy my chicken sandwich cravings read more

Swung by for a late lunch/snack..was greeted with by a friendly young lady. The restaurant looked clean and not real busy. I spotted the angry mac so I went with it. Wasn't sure on the spice levels and the young lady suggested medium for a first timer, heat level was mild to me...will try hot next time if I choose to return. I was a little disappointed with A. Lack of chicken...couldn't have been more than 2oz of chicken in there and it was buried (why wouldn't they put it on top)?? B. I wanted angry mac not angry fries but I guess the mac gets fries too???? Just filler and maybe cheaper than mac n cheese? Overall underwhelming. Mac was decent noodles not overcooked, not baked Mac n cheese but not Kraft either. I would order again if you could get without fries and the chicken was at least a tender. read more

I won't be coming back here, not that the food was bad, it was okay. I just won't be back for seconds. I wanted to see what the hype was about and I'm guessing it's the burning sensation that one can't get in most places. I never understood the whole eating super hot stuff that can burn your mouth for several minutes. Not only does it burn in your mouth, but I burns in the bathroom later on. Just one of the reasons I don't eat spicy food, but another reason would include the fact that I can't even taste the flavor when my tongue is on fire. Which is why I ordered mild, yet being that it looks like it has many spices on it, it was nearly flavorless. Looks can be deceiving. The best part of the meal was the sauce. If it weren't for the sauce, there would be no enjoyment, considering the flavorless chicken tender and nearly stale fries. I was excited to try the Mac and Cheese, but it turned out to be watery, with just a hint of cheese flavor. Although much of it was still left, I wasn't enticed enough to save it for later. I kept thinking about other fried chicken places with good tenders and Mac and cheese, surely this didn't even come close. The woman behind the counter that look our order was five stars, very nice to the customers, remembered my name, quick and brought our food out to us. The dining area was big, although most people there seemed to get take out. read more

The Angry Chicks at 5442 Ygnacio Valley Rd 40 & 50 Concord, CA 94521 is a solid addition to the other places that surround it. The menu is consistently very good, there were very few start-up headaches and a high number of employees have survived the few start-up hiccups. They've all been together. The quality of service really shows. There's no wasted time in working to deliver your order in a timely manner. There's a Team Lead, named Jenna T. She, Jenna, heads up a solid group of multi-tasking co-workers. One time I went in and Jenna was responsible for cash register. The next time, she was in the kitchen. The next time she ran after someone because they forgot their food. Then, after a few visits, you notice...everyone is following Jenna's lead and seamlessly multi-tasking as well. Great place. read more

Service has been consistently good, but the food is mediocre for the prices. The Mac and cheese is flavorless. The Angry Mac had a minimal amount of chicken in it and when paired with the flavorless Mac n cheese made for a not so delicious meal.
