Gerald came out to estimate our back fence which conveniently (not) decided to lean over into our neighbor's yard. We accepted the estimate, did one change order (to add extra feet), and settled on a construction date. Today, Gerald, Saul, and Reuben arrived on time and with everything ready to go. Saul and Reuben are amazing! They worked tirelessly all day, communicated so well, and were cheerful throughout. It was wonderful to have them around. I couldn't believe that they were able to put in a 2' retaining wall and 25' of fence in one day - so much digging! When they left, everything was clean and nice. I'm including a photo, but we are the ones who stacked stuff in front of the fence to keep the dog from getting into the setting concrete. If you are considering fence work, I highly recommend Reuben Borg Fence and especially Gerald, Saul, and Reuben. Thank you so very much!

Gerald from RB Fence came to look at the job and provide an estimate. His quote was very detailed, much more so than any of the others we received, and it was the only quote to include a Split Invoice Addendum form for dividing the cost with our neighbor, enabling us each to pay separately and having the amount of each share clearly documented. (This was particularly important because we agreed on an uneven split.) RB Fence was the only quote that came this way, and it really was a selling point, because it made things easier for us. On the day the work was to be done, the crew arrived on time and immediately got to work. We were surprised by how quickly they got the old fence down and the new one up. Gerald came by partly through the job to make sure we didn't have any questions and things were on track. I appreciated that he took responsibility in that way. The job was completed in a timely manner, and the new fence and two new gates look terrific! Working with RB Fence was the best choice for this job.

Heads-up: Door-to-door sales from Palm Construction…read more About a month ago, a salesman from Palm Construction knocked on our door. He led with a story that they were replacing a neighbor's driveway around the corner and it would be loud the next day, then continued talking until I asked him to get to the point. He became slightly combative and claimed he had already secured a consultation appointment with one of our neighbors on our private court. I told him we were not interested. I later checked with neighbors on our court via group text--no one had scheduled a consultation with him. There was also no construction noise the next day from any driveway work around the corner. Both statements were false. I called Palm Construction's corporate office to report the interaction and make it clear they are not welcome on our private court. Despite that, someone from the company returned to our private court yesterday. I followed up with corporate again, more firmly. First impressions are lasting impressions. Based on this experience, their sales practices appear questionable. I would not recommend engaging with them.

While we worked with a separate landscape designer, Octavio's on-the-ground expertise actually improved the final result. He suggested practical modifications to the original terrace and retaining wall plans that better suited our terrain, which saved us significant costs. Beyond the major earth-moving, he handled: - Full Front Yard Renovation: High-quality work at a very fair price. - ADU Infrastructure: Trenching and installation for electric, water, and sewer lines. - Finishing Touches: Expert irrigation, lighting, and planting. What truly sets him apart is his character. When raccoons tore up our new sod, Octavio offered to repair it under warranty, even though it wasn't his fault. If you're looking for someone who truly understands wood, Jose from Deck Preservation is the person…read moreto call. I would not trust anyone else with projects like this. Jose brings an incredible amount of expertise, hard work, and enthusiasm to every job. He is very communicative throughout the process and works efficiently while still maintaining a very high standard. It is clear he cares deeply about doing the job right. I hired him for two projects to restore wood that had been badly maintained over the years. From the start, he was upfront about realistic expectations and worked closely with me so the final result would be both beautiful and aligned with my personal taste, even with the challenges from past wear and damage. His process is meticulous. He carefully preps, conditions, and treats the wood so the finish looks great and will last. One of the projects he worked on was restoring our outdoor patio seating, which had been heavily worn down by the elements. It had become rough, uncomfortable to sit on, and even left little splinters. Jose transformed it completely. The wood is now smooth, almost velvet to the touch, and looks beautiful again. He also took the time to tighten loose planks so everything feels solid and well cared for. If you need help restoring decks, outdoor wood furniture, benches, railings, or other exterior wood, Jose is exceptional. I am thrilled with the results and will absolutely work with him again.

Great crew, but communication and supervision need improvement…read more The crew that installed my fence did a great job, and the workmanship was excellent. Unfortunately, the experience with sales and the supervisor team was frustrating. I was told in writing that installation and staining would be completed in one day, only to learn after installation that staining required a separate crew and additional days. This should have been communicated upfront. My $5,220 quote was also $500 higher than a competing quote getting work done in the same week. After raising my concerns and dealing with some frustration with the supervisor team, management stepped in and made the right call by reducing the price by $300. Ultimately, the crew deserves credit for their great work, and management deserves credit for making things right. Better communication and coordination upfront would have made this a much better experience. Four stars for the quality of work and management's eventual response.
