I was here twice several years ago for takeout, but never got around to reviewing them before. As 'they' say, the third time is the charm as I'm finally reviewing them now. Each time their food has been very good - whether it was the garlic knots (which I've gotten each time), their calzones, and their cheesesteaks. In fact, I really have to try their actual pizza one of these days. This recent time aside from the garlic knots, I had another one of their cheesesteaks. They're quite on point with their cheesesteaks and if you don't want to go to nearby Pennsylvania for cheesesteaks, this place is a great option for them. Filling and just great all around. As mentioned, I've had their garlic knots three times and all three times have been very good. If I had a complaint, it's their lack of variety in their fridge - the only one I saw had mostly Pepsi 2 liters and just a few other options. While I've mainly had take out, there are plenty of tables inside and everything looks clean. Each time I've been here, everyone has been friendly and welcoming. There is plenty of parking as this place shares the space with several other businesses, including a ShopRite. Great for locals and for those (like me) who pass through the area at times. It's always good to know that they're here. Easily recommended. read more

I honestly swung in here because the sando shop a few stores down was closed, mid-day on a Friday and I was starving. Figured grabbing 2 slices of pizza would help a girl out. Not busy and a couple of pizza slice options on the counter, I went with a white slice and what I thought was a veggie slice. It had bacon on it. I despise bacon on pizza. And the white sauce was weird and the spinach... didn't taste fresh and that freaked me out. He had put them in the oven to warm up but got home and they were just ugh. Well I came here and I paid an outrageous price for a cheesesteak. I was very hungry and I just worked a very long day on my feet. The location was convenient and on my way home. Imagine my surprise when I sit down at home to open up my cheesesteak and it is not what I ordered. It's not even cheese or steak. It's some sort of a chicken sandwich on a long roll. I was disgusted to say the least. I really wanted a cheesesteak, and I really overpaid for the sandwich. So I call the shop and explain that I just arrived home with my takeout order and it was incorrect. They put a manager on the phone. She offered to give me 20% off of my next purchase. That's it. I told them it was too far for me to drive Back for a replacement sandwich. And to only give me 20% off? How about refund my money for the sandwich. They claim to be the "best pizza in South Jersey". Well I haven't eaten at all of the pizzerias in South Jersey so I can't testify to that. What I can say is they make an awesome pizza!! Fresh ingredients, great selections of standard and specialty, and great service. ' I love their crispy slices. If you order by the slice, you'll get one HUGE slice of pizza. Pizza is my weakness. I had Angelo's cheese sauce delivered with white and green mold spots, I licked the cap clean before looking and hope to not be food poisoned. The worst part being I called and the manager said he will check to see if there was mold in the fridge? After leaving me on hold he yelled to the hostess "There is no mold in the cheese." As I explained there is mold that I am looking at, and if he had a cell phone I could send a picture to, or if he could send a driver to exchange the cheese for me. I was told that I do not have mold in my cheese, until I demanded the managers name. He said I could drive down and show him the mold for new cheese sauce. I was unable to do so at the time and also thought the manager was being very disrespectful during this whole ordeal. I asked for their name so I could speak to their supervisor, assuming I was speaking to an assistant manager. This person told me they were the owner. I asked them "what is your name, manager, working Tuesday at 10pm?!" And he would not give me his name, he jokingly said "They call me Jose." The real owner should step up because this is disgusting. I had to come to Yelp to even look at the menu. Their website no longer has it available. They make you use the slice app which sucks as well. It charges you to even place an order so better call to order. The slice app makes you have to search up the place (never links). Their prices seem very high. I understand inflation but these prices seem unreasonable This is a fast food place. I don't know I can't justify ordering here for the family anymore. read more

Being underemployed as I am, we used an Entertainment Coupon for last night's dinner here. We both ordered an entree, with plenty leftover to take home for another meal. My dining partner also ordered a slice of cheese pizza as an appetizer to share (so much food, felt like we were paid food critics). Meals come with soup, or salad, and pasta. You choose two of the three (I guess you can skip the pasta and have soup and salad), or pay 2.50 extra for all three if you'd prefer. Soup was good, we switched a house salad for a caesar salad, and we both ordered pasta. Entrees were huge and very tasty (both of us ordered a chicken dish). I have ordered pizza from Angelo's a couple of times now. I think it's really great pizza. Slightly greasy, perfect ratio of sauce and cheese. It's my new go-to pizza place. We also got a buffalo chicken cheese steak and that was good too. A young guy answered the phone and I think he needs a bit of practice but that doesn't matter for this yelp review. Long story short: yummy pizza. Update: I have also now tried the jumbo wings, cheese steak, buffalo chicken cheese steak, and the chicken and pasta soup. Everything is great, especially the wings and the soup. The only one that needs work is the cheesesteak. Their pizza pies are normal size but if you're just looking for a quick slice you're gonna be blown away at how big the slice is. I've had their mozzarella sticks here and well which are good. Having not been to Italy, though still having traveled throughout quite a good portion of the world, my favorite slices still hale from various neighborhood pizzerias in NYC and neighboring boroughs. Still, Angelo's holds its own in ranking right up there with a true NYC slice. Plentiful toppings, good crust, good size for the price; a solid, good, really can't be topped in that area of NJ slice. They also have some really good customer service. Portions are plentiful. They have various soup options, which come with entrees, including hamburgers, and they throw in a salad (though they could dry off that lettuce better before popping it in the container). But I can't give them more than a 3-star rating because 1) they're as - and in some cases more - expensive than many of the pizzerias I know of in NYC, and 2) my family and I have had multiple issues throughout the years with errors on our order. Most recently (this past weekend), we called in an order. Mine was fried ravioli and a bacon cheeseburger sub; pretty standard pizzeria fare. One the phone they asked if we wanted cheese ravioli. It wasn't made clear that they were out of fried ravioli. It came across more like there was a meat or a cheese option for the fried goodness. When we got the order home? Regular frozen ravioli with sauce. Decent taste. But not what my taste buds wanted, or the Lost In Translation ordering process made me think I was getting. Then I realize there isn't a sub wrapped in foil..........I open a styrofoam container (yeah...not environmentally thoughtful...but you're going to a pizzeria in Jersey, folks. Come on ;-)...and it's a regular burger. Again, decent. Overly salty. But still good. But I ordered the bacon cheeseburger sub to try the bread they use for....subs. I can understand the miscommunication with the ravioli. But the sub? Nah. Don't get that one. We've had other issues before where allergies where communicated over the phone, but the execution didn't come through. They have gluten-free ravioli!!! HUGE BONUS!! PROPS!!!! The family called in an order with one gluten free ravioli, one regular ravioli, ordering crab to be added to the regular one, and stating that the gluten free one couldn't have crab on it since the person eating it had an allergy. The order comes......and the gluten-free ravioli had the crab, while the regular one was bare. And there are others throughout the years, which I won't go in to. Again, all stuff which you can deal with for the quality of the food in that area...or that can ask to be fixed if you can't deal with it. They're really good with fixing any errors made. Very nice and kind about it. Still, it's a consistent issue. But, hey. if that's the only qualm about a place with decent chow, and you have the ducats to pay their prices, I guess it ain't all that bad. read more
