I have been to some of the best: Totonno's Pizzeria Napolitano, Di Fara Pizza, L&B Spumoni Gardens, Juliana's Pizza, Patsy's Pizzeria, L'Industrie Pizzeria, Taglio, and Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana -- so expectations are high. We stopped in for an early dinner, and the thin crust pizza did not disappoint: crispy, crunchy, and full of flavor. The hot vinegar chicken was also excellent. After seeing so many videos about Angeloni's Thinny Thin Pie, I had see what it was all about. I stopped in today around lunch time. I was welcomed by Michael who quickly sat me down, took my ordee and brought me a drink. He then introduced me to his Brother Nick who was just as welcoming as Michael. I told Nick, I hope the Thinny tin is as good as you say on Facebook. Well, it was, and more. My wife and I have lived in Sussex County for 40 years and it was by far, the best pie I have had in the county. We had a reservation for a Saturday night but apparently reservations mean nothing so dont bother calling. Patrons walk into a chaotic front space with a woman on the phone taking to go orders. After five or ten minutes an employee walked by and said sarcastically "welcome to Saturday "! A "hostess" came inside from the outdoor seating and asked where we wanted to sit. We asked for outside if possible since inside was noisy and crazy. She went outside and we watched through the glass as she waked around and chatted with people on the boardwalk. Some at tables and some passing by. She came back and we ened up at a noisy corner table behind a folding table of employees folding silverware into napkins. The food took a long time which we understoid for a Saturday but then appetizer, salad, entree, and "famous thinny thin pizza arrived all at once. Waitress said "that happens sometimes ". The clams in brodo were good but no bread with which to enjoy the broth. Waitress said "no one brought you bread"? after we ate the clams. Lasagna was mediocre and the famous pizza was black not crispy but black. Needless to say we will enjoy our many other favorite restaurants in Sparta and not return. Having both worked in restaurants and helped with a family member's restaurant in the past we are very understanding and tolerant about busy Saturday nights but this was too much! Veal parm was double the size of chicken parm my guest had. Servers kept bumping into us as table was placed right where staff enter/exit kitchen. I reached out to restaurant via their instagram page to provide constructive feedback and the reply was thanks! The pizza is legitimately 4/5, there's not really many other good thin bar pie types around here and it's worth the high price. Calamari is also good. Everything else after that falls somewhere between you can get better at any other pizzeria nearby or straight up bad by any standard. The risotto I got recently had unmelted shredded CHEDDAR cheese in it and was clearly dropped under a broiler with some slices of other non-italian cheese. It's criminal that an NJ Italian restaurant would serve that. As other reviews here and elsewhere have noted, it is still a complete disaster inside as far as service and pick up. Multiple people have complained about the nasty and overwhelmed woman at the front for a reason. I want to start off by saying I have never had a worse experience at a restaurant, and just so you know, I eat out pretty often. First, We made our reservation specifically for a window seat, and ended up getting seated in the furthest corner facing the wall. Then, It took about 20 minutes for us to get menus and then 20 more minutes to get drinks. One person at my table ordered a water and it tasted like they walked outside and filled the cup with the lake water. Also, drinks came with no ice and soda was flat. Oh and I'm nowhere near done. Once we ordered our food, we were told it would take 40 minutes for a pizza and about 40-60 minutes for other dishes. INSANE. After this, I went to talk to the owner. He was TERRIBLY rude. He started to blame me for being a first time costumer and complained that no one ever comes in the winter. As if that has anything to do with the awful service. He continued to tell me he didn't know what I wanted him to do about it and acted like I was being dramatic and I didn't appreciate the "authenticity" of the place. There is a difference between being authentic and being genuinely awful. He promised we could be moved outside yet we never were. After this, my fathers pizza came out about an hour before everyone else's dishes as well as HIS appetizer. As if that makes any sense. His appetizer was served at the same time as everyone else's dinner. We ended up spending over 3 hours in this place due to the wait for everything. Once seated we were told we had to order everything we wanted & the thinny thin was a 45 minute wait. Why? They were filling all to-go orders first then diners. The restaurant started clearing out. ALL our food came out at the same time. Slightly above room temp. Not hot. We finished...then the thinny-thin pizza showed up (more than 45 minutes). Not impressed with the pizza pan of grease atop a thin crust. Food was good (not worth the wait) . There should be no rush to try this restaurant under the current conditions. read more

I made an online reservation for Mother's Day at 6:45 for 8 people. I got there at 6:40 and checked in with the front desk. The gentleman told me "oh the table behind you they are probably cleaning off for you" so I told him ok and we will be waiting outside. The water came semi cold with no ice. Then we gave her our entire order and did not order apps just dinners. My son ordered wings as his dinner. She came back 20 minutes later to tell us they are out of wings. So he ordered a pizza instead. Now our food is coming out separately not together as it should. Pizza is cold and my brother and wife's pizza is burnt (the bro pie). Now it's not just the outside of the pizza, it's the entire pizza. The only good thing was my salad and my mom's. We eat cause we aren't waiting anymore and are hungry the kids have been waiting too. We finish up and it's around 8:30 so us and 1 more table are left in the restaurant. My one son is still waiting for the pizza and hasn't eaten...we are all finished eating by this time. Small portions! Five of us recently had dinner here. We tried the wings for an appetizer. They were spicy and had a dry spice rub that we did not enjoy. I would just stick with a sauce or have 2 different options. My friend said the burger he had was basic, nothing memorable. I had the Cavatelli Norma. It was a little spicy but was very good. My issue was that the portion looked like a half portion that you would get for lunch. I'm a smaller woman and I actually left there still hungry. I dont want to leave a restaurant hungry especially for what they charged for the pasta dish. My husband had the Vinegar chicken and he said the flavor was good but that it was a small portion as well. We all agreed about the portion sizes.
