There are several Mexican bakeries in Brooklyn but I came here because I figured you couldn't go wrong if the place had concha in the name. I made the right choice. The day I arrived they had white, chocolate, red, and combined conchas, both "mini" and full size, and they had what I assume was a special Valentine's edition with pink dough in the shape of a heart. I also picked out a polvorón and an oreja, the latter is a Mexican pastry inspired by a common French pastry called a palmier or elephant ear. Their orejas are also excellent, as good as anything you'll get in México. In their deli case they have queso Oaxaca and mole paste. I brought home a pound of the cheese for quesadillas. It was incredibly fresh and stringy as it should be.

The empanadas are also really yummy. I find the actual food to be really sub-par, and would not recommend eating here (lots of burnt, crispy, fried foods with no flavor and hard to chew because of how badly burnt it is) but I highly recommend the bakery for true Colombian baked treats. Freshly grilled chicken, creamy avocado, plenty of cheese...it was super flavorful, and didn't need much beside a little hot sauce to set it off right. She also included a small order of fries on the side, and it was exactly what I needed. The place was packed when we arrived and there were a lot of customers coming in the entire time we were there. There was a constant flow of food delivery guys coming to pick up food orders, too. We ordered A LOT of tacos, so it was nice they offered special deals for larger orders. We also ordered iced horchatas. We waited a little bit for our order because of the large amounts of take out, online and in person orders, the entire staff was working as hard as they possibly could. They were always pleasant to each customer (we sat by the register so we noticed the interactions). The staff kept us well informed, so we weren't bothered by it. We were enjoying the 80s music in the background and having good conversation when Alison came over with guacamole and chips on the house. You order your food at the front counter, and while we waited, the owner surprised us with a complimentary almond croissant since it was our first visit. It was absolutely delicious -- flaky, fresh, and easily one of the best almond croissants I've ever had. The menu has a great variety of options. We went with the steak and eggs and buttermilk street pancakes. The steak was tender and full of flavor, the home fries were seasoned perfectly, and the pancakes were fluffy and delicious. We also tried the Tropical Bliss Juice, a refreshing blend of pineapple, mango, and orange that's freshly pressed to order. I scheduled a 11am pick up for 2 things in the morning and it gave them 2 hours to prepare (they open at 9am). The progress bar online showed the status "Ready for pick up" at 11:01am, good sign right? Nope. When I arrived, they didn't have anything ready, saying they didn't get the order receipt (smh). Then they said the food will be ready in 10mins, waited outside for 15min still no signs of food. Went back in to check and it was still not ready. The food quality is still around 3.5 stars but god the terrible time management is such a turn off. This is not how you run a business. Sadly I won't return ever again; all my attempts with this place resulted in unnecessary long wait times, even with advance ordering.
