The original plan was to visit the Angelina outside the Louvre to experience the infamous hot chocolate and Montblanc. But since that location didn't open until later, we were strapped for time, we happened to be visiting the Louvre anyway, and there was no line for this location (located inside the Louvre) for 11 am on a Sunday, we decided to just go with it.
We sat and placed our order for the items I mentioned + a coffee. After we ordered, I noticed there were a few empty tables next to the window, which had a view of the pyramid. Since they didn't seem too busy and no one was being seated there, I asked the hostess if it was possible to move over. I was met with an attitude and a terse "not right now" and she of course never got back to us, and sat later diners there. It's fine if you say no but there are more tactful ways of going about it.
The items we ordered weren't that great, for something that they're known for. The hot chocolate might just be my personal opinion but it was undrinkably sweet. It's like they melted chocolate and added more sugar to it. We had to cut it with the milk from my coffee. The Montblanc was just sad. It looked good but upon digging our spoons in, you could tell it was leftover from the previous day. It wasn't soft and had more of an old icing texture that you had to sort of chip away at. This was also very sweet so it's something you need to share with someone.
I'm disappointed that this was my first Angelina experience. I'll still give Angelina another shot. Just not at this location. read more
