The atmosphere is nice but the restaurant is really noisy. The service was right on and the food has never disappointed us.

Some times this place is petty good BUT, it is inconstant at best. It drives me nuts, the food can be good but it can also be over cooked, under cooked and the portions size is a real crapshoot. Fish and chips, 2 pieces, 3 pieces and some times 4. Other items like Wiener schnitzel can be large or it can be small. The same can be said of other menu items. The green beans are not cleaned. Then there is the service, some waitresses are super BUT there are a couple ( one in particular) that is just horrible. So if you go there good luck. If you have a good experience don't be surprised if you go back and it really sucks. read more

Attended a private birthday party at Angela's for over 50 people. The service was "spot on" for beverages, the appetizers were served individually to each table hot and delicious plus the entrees were tasty. This is usually a go to spot for my in-laws. My husband & I have been here several times with them and the food it usually good. Last night I went alone with my in-laws & the experience left much to be desired & I think it might have even left my in-laws reassessing their go to location. When we got there this place was packed, I just can't understand why. We were sat at a table crammed in between several other tables, & we were lucky if we had 2 ft. of space between the other tables. My father-in-law doesn't have much to say on the topic of Covid but even he said "I guess social distancing isn't a thing here. These tables are so close together." To witch my mother-in-law agreed, as did I. I have some pre-existing health conditions which leave me more at risk. We would have sat outside on the patio but it was much to cold last night. It was as though the owners don't think Covid is a thing the way they packed the tables in. I understand Gov. Ducey removed capacity limits but this is just ridiculous! My MIL asked to be moved to a both & she was met with a snarky reply "We're really busy I'll see if I can get someone to clear it." A few minutes goes by & we see 2 people clearing the table, once done we go & sit down. They return & explain they are under 21 & can't touch the EMPTY wine glasses & EMPTY wine bottle & they'd have to get someone to remove them. Someone who I think might have been the FOH manager comes to clear them & sighs then & says rather loudly under her breath "You know you really shouldn't have sat here yet! This table wasn't cleared all the way." I almost said "If the tables weren't so crammed together as if Covid weren't a think we wouldn't have felt the need to sit here but I bit my tongue. The service so slow too, painfully slow. A table was sat after us & got drinks & their dinner's before our drinks even came out. My FIL ordered the Filet Mignon Medallions and he said they were tough, gristly and over cooked. I ordered the prime rib and it was definitely not something to write home about. My health is more important than going out to dinner getting and getting a side of Covid. I unfortunately don't believe I will be returning. read more

This has been our "go to" restaurant for the past three or four months. We've always had excellent service. We usually get the same waitress on purpose. The food is usually great and the menu is quite extensive. Valentines Day, however, was partially great and partially a disaster. Hence, the low rating. We were a group of four with a five o'clock reservation. We were promptly seated and our order was taken in a reasonable time by a waitress I didn't know. Our drinks and appetizers were served in a good time. As a special note, the calamaris were a treat "to die for". We were expecting a great evening. We finished the appetizers at about five-thirty or five-forty five. We then began to wait for the main course. I was really looking forward to my chiopini. At about six thirty, our table began getting restless, as did some of the tables around us. At 6:45 we'd had enough. We hadn't seen the waitress for a while and our food was nowhere to be seen. We and at least two other groups then got up and chose to leave. I paid the bill for what we had eaten and drunk and we walked out. It was Valentines Day. They were crowded. There was plenty of wait staff. Either the kitchen was grossly undermanned or totally unable to handle the crowd. At least our waitress could have come over and offered us something while we waited. We were so happy with the appetizer and my wife's French onion soup that we'd have gladly waited a little longer if we had something to let us know we were soon to be fed. My wife and I will still go back, but only at times when they're not crowded. read more

I've tried several dishes at Angela's and have decided not to go back. The food is substandard. Too bad since it's very convenient for Grand residents. This week I asked for a cup of coffee and was told by the bartender that she just served the last cup and did not want to make another pot. I thought she was kidding but she wasn't. My grandma and I LOVE coming here! We've enjoyed the updated menu and new items. Great selections of salads, entrees, and appetizers, few local AZ beers on their selection and nice cocktails. We often bring friends and family who are in town for a visit. I always get the lamb sliders, without fail...except the last visit I was in a fish and chips mood. :-) And I wasn't dissapointed! The fish was delightfully crispy and well-seasoned, not too 'bready'. I have dined here many times while visiting family in Sun City Grand. The food and service all always very good. We sat on the patio this visit and the setting sun made the golf course view very nice. I really enjoyed the Crab Cake BLT sandwich, it was delicious! Their fruity martinis are really good too! I cannot imagine that someone would come here unless they are already at the Sun City Grand community. It is the only restaurant here. We were visiting friends and came for a late night dinner during the week. The place was busy, but by all means not full. When we were finally seated I couldn't figure out why they had us wait for close to a half hour for a table. And they don't take reservations. The lamb burger plate was okay as was service. I imagine that the view during the day must be pleasant and I might give them another try. read more

Quiet and tucked away, it's hard to find unless you're looking for it but well worth it! My sesame tuna - the first time ever trying tuna not from a can and mashed up with mayo and a bunch of other stuff - was spectacular. Recently moved to SCG and tried this restaurant. Food was absolutely tasteless. Potato salad was slimy and had no seasoning. It was boiled potatoes with a slimy tasteless sauce. The stroganoff had one spice which was heavy oregano. I never heard of oregano in stroganoff. The noodles were in a soupy brown broth. Not sure what country's version of stroganoff that is. The meatloaf also had no flavor except an abundance of mustard. No tomato sauce or catsup. No spices either. The French onion soup was mediocre at best. We waited for a hostess for 15 minutes to seat us. All of the servers seemed grumpy and not polite at all. Never saw but one smile and that was a male waiter. I see no reason to give a second chance. Menu has changed. Delicious grilled salmon over couscous has been replaced by baked salmon covered with creamed mushroom risotto. Poor trade off for healthy eaters. Shrimp dish also gone from entree as well as chicken limone with capers. Schnitzel was large but paper thin and very dry. Just hope they don't dump Osso Bucco special. The first time we came we dined in and it was pretty good. Then we ordered to go and came back with terrible food. The meatloaf was good but the other two items were bad. The online order said hummus with chicken. We got the order and no chicken. The hummus didn't taste like hummus. I called and was told they took the chicken off and added cucumbers and carrots. I told them they need to update their online menu an no response. The beet and goat cheese salad was not as advertised. Hardly any goat cheese and the dressing tasted like teriyaki sauce. read more

The service and some of the foods were not great! My husband had fish and chips and the chips were soggy. We mentioned this to the waiter and he said they were always like that! We told the hostess and she said they should have given more chips. The waiter came back with fresh ones. The manager came over and apologized and gave us a$10 gift certificate. It was St Patrick's Day and I think they were stressed out. We went there because some friends had gone there but didn't have the same experience. We visit some friends of friends here every year, and every year it gets worse. And it started out bad. It's expensive, the food is teetering between mediocre and bad, and the policies they have there are just terrible. Over the years I've had them screw up boxed pasta with flavorless sauce, overcooked hamburger, and countless appetizers. They refuse to accommodate simple, common requests from customers as if they are a fine dining establishment when in reality it's a failing restaurant in a retirement community. Thank you for sticking to good, simple food! We had a variety of dishes today (drinks, appetizers, main courses and desserts) and every one of them was a slam dunk. Michelle took wonderful care of us and the food surpassed our expectations. Well seasoned and perfectly cooked comfort food is what you'll get when you come here. For example, we had the escargot. I was wondering what a place like this would do with it and I was astounded. If anyone ACTUALLY likes escargot then they can appreciate the tasteful, simple and authentic way it's prepared. We just came from France and I can say this dish brought me back. We are so happy we finally found this place. What a hidden gem! BTW, I was reading some of the previous reviews and I'm so glad I didn't read them before I went, it would've deterred me. I saw the many, many positive reviews on Trip Advisor and so gave Angela's a try! Some people won't be pleased with anything no matter what. COVID 19 Hotspot!! I've been into this restaurant/bar several times over the last three months and it was great. Tonight, we went in about 4pm and the small bar was PACKED. NO social distancing, NO one wearing masks, and people coming in from three entrances with NO MASKS ON, in violation of Maricopa County Executive Order. No social distancing at all and assuming everyone in there lives in the Sun City Grand community, the majority are in a high risk group. They need to be shut down IMMEDIATELY before they create a situation where they are a super spreader and infect the entire Sun City Grand community. I'm reporting to AZDHS. They are shutting down bars for less and this was unbelievable. read more

This was my first time here at Angela's Kitchen. I'm really glad I decided to come here for an appetizer and a drink! I got the hummus which came with cucumbers and pita bread. So good!!!! I am impressed with view. I sat at the bar top and enjoyed the company of the bartenders while over looking the golf course and the water front. The staff is very attentive and personable. If you are a golfer, you will enjoy this place. Park your golf cart and come grab a bite to eat and a wonderful drink. read more

First and last visit to Angela's. Server arrived shortly after being seated to take drink order and returned quickly with drinks. Gave our order upon their arrival. After 45 minutes the server indicated food would be out shortly. After an hour, I inquired at hostess desk how much longer for the food. Server came back shortly after and apologized for the wait. It was an hour and 15 minutes from time we ordered food before it was delivered. It was good, but nothing to rave about. Entrees ordered: Ahi Tuna, Penne A La Vodka, and Shrimp Oreganata. Overpriced for the portion received. Tables seated 30 or 40 minutes after us received food before us because they ordered salads or sandwiches and we ordered entrees. Kitchen was short staffed which was not relayed at time of seating. No excuse to take over an hour to get food or tables seated well after us to receive their order before us. Very noisy and difficult to carry conversation. Overall poor experience other than nice view and server friendly and apologetic. read more

This was a truly disappointing dining experience! We had brought out of state guests here because heard there was good food. It began great seated outside on patio and then ordered drinks and food. After our salads were delivered, never saw our waitress again until she came to clean up our dishes. I had to get up from table to ask other waitress where our waitress was because we have not seen her for awhile and our drinks were empty. So then the kitchen came and delivered our meals and we asked if she could get drink refills?? She actually said yes and brought them right away. But during eating still have not seen waitress until the end of our meal. Spoke with the manager and she first stated she would take care of this and either comp a dessert or something. But she changed her mind and then wouldn't even do anything. No apology from waitress that she was sorry - nothing. So when they brought our bill and she came to pick it up, I said where were you for our whole dinner??? I never saw you, and she just made a rude comment back!
