We decided to get takeout from Angelas since it's right down the street. I miss their margaritas, but was very happy to try some new items! The chicken enchiladas with verde sauce was delicious, and the side of beans was actually one of my favorite parts. Such great flavor, everything. I also tried the chorizo gordita, which is like a thick tortilla with spicy chorizo and cheese on top. They also have some other flavors! This place is starting to become the beau and I's regular spot for brunch. I love it here. It's a really cute, cozy, and intimate little restaurant. There's always a wait but we have never wait longer than 30mins. The owner is very personal and nice. Coffee is not bad at all. Eggs Florentine is pretty good BUT. They are known for their chilaquiles. We get it Everytime we are here. Everyone comes here for it. Not too spicy, full of flavors, and lots of protein. I can never finish it!! Angela's has never let me down. As someone who lives nearby, I've never actually eaten inside (there's usually a line) but the takeout has been consistently good over the years and they have some of the best Mexican food in Boston for sure. Their burritos are good and pretty cheap as well for a quick dinner, and the tacos, nachos, and enchiladas as delicious too, along with many of the other special dishes. We usually get guacamole with whatever we order because it's just that good and makes for a great snack the next day as leftovers (when there's something left). Their breakfast is also phenomenal, though we don't order it quite as often. To go service is quick, usually on time, always friendly, and very accurate, especially with any dietary restrictions or substitutions. Looking forward to dining in one of these days! read more

Pro tip- make sure to ask for a bottle of hot sauce for the table. It's a green chili based sauce that makes everything taste even better! I tried the Huevos Poblanos which comes with refried beans, scrambled eggs with ham and poblanos, seasoned pita, avocado, and corn tortillas. Delightfully charming little place on the corner in east Boston. I'm glad I timed it well and got there before the horde started flooding in, by the time I had finished my main course there were at least eight people waiting to sit down. And this is testament to the place, the way it looks and its simplicity, the thoughtful color and style in a particular Hispanic vibe, The menu seems to invite you to almost every dish. I started with a shrimp ceviche, which in Spain I'm quite sure is a shrimp cocktail, and it did remind me of that, but I loved the freshness antagonist of the balsamic vinegar, the cooked shrimp, the fresh avocado. As a main course I ordered a full breakfast, which came with a side of fruit. I really decent breakfast, the sausages were tasty, The potatoes were nicely seasoned, though after watching all the food arrive at surrounding tables, I couldn't help but wonder if I had ordered the wrong thing and should've gone for something a little more authentic and ethnic and not so main stream. This is a family own restaurant that I found by chance. It is in a residential area so parking was difficult but it was worth the effort to park. I talked to the owner, who is a native Mexican, and she explained why she decided to open a restaurant . I went to Angela's 2 days in a row because I love the food and service there. My second time was on Friday 13th of November, I was there by myself and ordered HOT CHOCOLATE (this is really good, I'm serious) and banana nutella pancake. I'd say the pancake was not the best I couldn't eat them all, it was really dry. The waitress who took care of me was super slow, I asked for my water twice, I tried to understand that she might busy but she went to tables around me twice but never stop at mine. I decided to take my hot chocolate for to go, I could notice that she forgot about me, again. At the end when she dropped my check and to go cup for my hot chocolate, she poured my hot chocolate into my to go cup and at the end her long nail scoop some of my hot chocolate she didn't notice anything because she was talking to people at another table, I felt like I was a ghost at the place, totally different feeling compare with my YESTERDAY visit ....I was crying inside and decided to not take my hot chocolate away. Wow did I have a spicy brunch here on Saturday! We had to wait a little bit for a 4-person table, but the restaurant is very small (about 8 tables). Service was pretty quick and we got many water refills. Angela's has a brunch menu in addition to a lunch menu (brunch items come with free coffee which is nice) but my friends and husband and I all opted for lunch items. We started with a shared bowl of guacamole which was very good and came with free refills of chips. For lunch, I got the chicken enchiladas with green sauce (my go-to in most Mexican restaurants) but it was fantastic and super spicy. Most places wimp out a bit on spice, but not Angela's! The consistency and flavors were all great - just enough sour/tart bite to the sauce. Our mouths were all happily on fire. I had a tasty mimosa to wash everything down - my husband had a bloody mary, one friend had a regular margarita, and her husband a mango margarita. (Everyone said their drinks were great, too). Definitely glad we trekked over to this spot for brunch and dealt with the small wait outside. Food was excellent and I'd definitely recommend it as a lunch or brunch spot. Who ever woke up one morning and tasted mole for the first time and decided theirs was good and then proceeded to convince the rest of the clueless mob that this was a good representation of this dish deserves an award or better yet a check from Angelas. Went there with 3 of my Mexican friends and we were blown away at how bad and expensive it was without cause. Go to jalisco and at least although the menu and cuisine be simpler (Northern Mexican) it is authentic and good and a great value to boot. We came on a rainy Sunday and there was still a line! Pretty good brunch place and affordable. A bonus is that all breakfast and brunch plates come with free coffee. The servers are very kind. The people there seem to be regulars and are open to chatting with you as well as recommending dishes. You can definitely get standard American breakfast dishes or try the Mexican breakfast dishes. My cousin got the mixed fruits waffle and I got the huevos poblanos (first time ever having this and I would say it was good). Great takeout! I've been wanting good Mexican food since Cinco de Mayo & my husband suggested Angela's Cafe. We LOVE Angela's & it turns out you can get a margarita to go! I got the steak burrito (my go to order) & I was NOT disappointed. My husband got the enchiladas & commented on the presentation with avocado slices & we shared an order of the AMAZING guacamole. First stop from the airport was this cozy spot! We wanted a great breakfast that had both savory and sweet options and Angela's was just the ticket! Bonus: all dine-in breakfasts come with coffee! I ordered the French toast with seasonal fruits and caramel sauce. I originally asked for the sauce on the side, but after tasting it, realized I had to pour it over everything! It was very much like dulce de leche and added depth to an otherwise-lackluster breakfast. My husband ordered the chilaquiles with red sauce and despite my hatred of eggs, my mouth was watering at the smell. After living here for almost 10 years, I don't ever eat Mexican food or search for it anymore because it does not exist. Wow I wish we had an Angela's in Buffalo ! I would go everyday, so I could try something else! The food and flavor was down to a craft. The Dolce de Lecha pancakes did not even require syrup, the caramel was so delicious. The Chilaquiles were perfection: shredded chicken, beans , queso fresco, egg , avocado, red sauce and corn tortilla strips all come together in a flavor marriage that made me happily ever after! The juevos rancheros were also excellent. If you require the food to be less spicy, just mention it to the waiter ! Placed a pick up order - drove across town to pick it up, cool little place with friendly staff that helped me quickly. Received my order and drove home...opened the bag, both entrees in there but we ordered a queso appetizer too (which per their menu is "melted Mozzarella with jalapeño with chips") and an a side order of chips. Received a container of shredded mozz with some jalapeño pieces, cold not melted. No chips. Called the restaurant and told them the mistake - put on "hold" (could just hear them talking in the background) then they said "it doesn't come with chips" but tortillas instead (never received tortillas). Put on "hold" again, lady comes back arguing with me to tell me where in the bag the tortillas are....it's a paper bag, no many places to look....they then told me to drive back to pick up the tortillas. Said no, asked them to just remove the salsa from my order since I didn't order, more rambling. Didn't bother driving back, not worth the time/money/headache. Quesadilla was fine, not bad. Not only is the food outstanding -- honestly the best Mexican food you can find in Boston -- but their takeout window makes for one of the most covid-safe takeout experiences I've had yet. I called in my order over the phone, it was ready in 15 minutes, and I picked it up and paid at the takeout window.
