I ordered lunch from here during the work week via a catering service. For that reason I can't comment on the staff or ambiance, so this is based on the food which was outstanding. Normally, I think most Mexican bowls taste the same, but the ingredients and flavor in my bowl was noticeably better than average. Highly recommend!
Viva la Mexico ! If you're planning to visit Harvard Square please stop into Felipe's as this place was so good we went back the next day. It's loud , it's busy but it's GOOD. It's about $15-25 per person depending on what you order. I had the super quesadilla and a Mexican Coke the first time and then a mini ( it's still huge ) quesadilla with tons of toppings , a Mexican Coke and flan the second time and it was about $27. Seating is first come first serve and it's super loud and busy no matter what day of the week but it's worth it. I don't recommend if you are with small kids or strollers because of the seating as they have a second floor seating area and roof top area that would make it hard to carry food and kids since there are no trays. My next trip , this will be a first stop for sure!

It's about $15-25 per person depending on what you order. Seating is first come first serve so you might have to wait for seats to open. There are seats on 3 levels. Not ideal for children. It does get loud inside. Felipe's might be the only reason I come back to Boston!
I've passed by this place near Harvard Square countless times, but I never imagined it was the "Top Boston Mexican" in Beli app! It was really delicious. Bowl: Maybe "Plate" would be a more accurate description? The grilled chicken was more tender than it looked, not at all dry; the pico de gallo was very fresh, with just the right amount of tomato acidity; the guacamole was smooth, sweet and sour, both great accompaniments to the chicken. The rice was perfectly cooked, with each piece distinct, showcasing both the slight acidity of the tomato and the umami of the chicken broth. However, the corn tortilla was just average, bland and tasteless, not much different from what you'd buy at a supermarket.
Their burritos and bowls are some of the best in the area. Great place for lunch. Ambiance is casual. The service was excellent.

After visiting a couple of Harvard book stores we ran across Felipe's Taqueria and, like magic, we found ourselves inside. Felipe's is kind of like QDoba, Chipotle, and Moe's, but better and on steroids. There's not one food line, there are TWO food lines that work from opposite ends of the restaurant to the center. First you chose what you want (burrito, bowl, etc) and add your ingredients as you go down the line. These food preparers are Master Class, adding your ingredients with amazing speed. Before you know it you're at the point where you pay and get your drinks. We visited on a Saturday afternoon, so it was hell-on-wheels busy, but this team was hustling 100%. The customer flow was constant and this place was slammin'. The seating accommodations are mixed, with tables and high-tops on the first floor, then an additional seating area on floor up. For those who want something more than your typical soft drink or soda, there's also a bar towards the back of the establishment. The décor is subtle but well suited, not over-doing anything so it look gaudy. The food, while put together with amazing speed, was absolutely, 100% delicious. If there was a Felipe's close to home I know where a good share of my dining-out money would go. Amazing variety, countless options, colorful surrounding, and a fun place to visit.

Felipe's is a perfect spot in the midst of the Cambridge/Harvard area. We enjoyed the rooftop for a late afternoon lunch and the sun was shining beautifully. We also tried the dip trio and everything was so good. My quesadilla was perfect and I loved how customizable it was. It's an elevated build your own experience that doesn't break the bank. I recommend it for anyone looking for a delicious meal!

In my most recent trip this summer, I got a steak burrito with some guacamole and chips and a Horchata. All were fairly tasty and I would recommend. Generally when I get casual Mexican food, I usually get it from a truck instead of Chipotle to get a more authentic taste but Felipe's definitely suffices and hits the mark. My order was processed fairly quickly. There was plenty of seating at the space, which is fairly no frills and low key.
I think Anna's is still number one for me, but Felipe's food is pretty delicious! I love their burritos and how many different ways you can customize them. You can't beat the prices for the amount of food you get. Such a Boston area staple!

Felipe's Taqueria is super fun - the place was packed with people, but we got to place our order fairly quickly as there were two lines leading to the registers on either side. It's chaotic, but they do a good job moving the lines along. I will say it can be tough to grab a spot (we wanted bar seating but that was not happening), but we did find a table and were able to hang onto it for a while. You get such a huge portion for the price charged. I got nachos and it was easily enough for two dinners. Overall, I highly recommend the visit!! read more

Super popular place near Harvard square and recommended to me by two different friends. There was a line but it moved quickly. It was bustling on a Thursday night. I got the roasted veggies bowl and my friend got the chicken bowl, both were tasty and had good portions. They came with hot corn tortillas which I really liked and the salsa was self serve. We also got their new mango habanero wings, which my friend was not a fan, and I didn't think much of. Even though it was really busy, there was a lot of space. We found a spot on the second floor then came downstairs to get their frozen margaritas. These were stronger than I expected and we tried prickly peach, strawberry and passion fruit. They add different flavours on the frozen margarita base and I liked the passion fruit while my friend liked the strawberry. Mexican quick food of all types very affordable & on campus by Harvard Square full of college students good service, lively upbeat ambiance. The margaritas are prepared at the bar from a frozen pre mixed tequila machine also excellent tasting $9. A really good experience, recommend. 4.5 stars read more

I have always loved Felipe's , but come on. How did this happen? Ate half a super burrito the other night and saved half for the next day. Chicken Tinga/Grilled chicken combo. A few bites left and I literally almost choked on a sharp and long bone. I hate leaving terrible reviews like this but I'm still shaking from almost choking. Chipotle on crack, and also cheaper. The portions were crazy and the pickle and salsa bar was *chefs kiss*. They heat up and cook your bowl or burrito or nachos in front of you, and there's a lot of seating mostly for students. Great place to visit and grab a bite with friends. Kind of like a Chipotle but a little more of a restaurant. Still the same idea of get in line, provide instruction on how to assemble your meal and then pay at the register. There's seating on ground level as well as upstairs. Conveniently located across from Harvard's campus. Food was fresh and tasty. Lost a star b/c staff was not very friendly and some of the furniture need repairing. Our booth, for example, was completely split open and seemed like it had been that way for awhile. Pricing was reasonable. We ordered burritos, tacos and taco salad. All were tasty and fresh. Would return and recommend to others. read more

Constantly long lines and hella noisy, but that's all part of its flair. The Al Pastor Super Burrito I got was tasty, but was deficient in size and fillings--they barely stuffed it. The melted cheese in the burrito was delicious though. Also, the salsa verde had nice smoky notes and the habanero salsa had a slight kick. Gotta come here at least once! read more
Great spot, went here after a concert around the corner. Josh our bartender was great. Really just a stand up guy. Kind, not weird, talked with all of us and didn't leave any other bar seats without service either. Drinks were good, excellent price for the city, food was good, atmosphere was fantastic and just calm enough that our midnight on a Tuesday may as well have been 9 pm. I wouldn't say the food is particularly good or bad but I think the most drawing factor is the ambiance. A great place to grab a quick/cheap meal with friends and socialize! The rooftop is a lot of fun during the summer read more

First time at Felipe's Harvard Square. I got a rice bowl (served on a plate) with the cornbread'ed haddock fish plus guacamole. It came with two warm corn tortillas. I don't think it's worth the ~$17-$18. I would give it 3.5 stars as the fixings were fresh! Food could be warmer. I didn't get beans in my bowl for some reason. Service is swift when choosing your options so keep it moving ! Lol! When walking by, it always seems busy here. read more

With a location in a busy place like Harvard Square, I'm sure this place gets a lot of business. They definitely deserve it! I stopped in with my bf for something small to share. We went with a plate of nachos (I saw a group eating them and they looked awesome). Firstly I wanted to give a shout out to the staff, who were churning out orders faster than I've ever seen. The whole kitchen crew was running like a well-oiled machine. I have never seen a burrito get rolled so fast. Our nachos came out with an absolute heap of meat, cheese, and other toppings. Within 15 minutes, the whole plate was empty! Delicious. I have posted pictures as proof. The restaurant itself is large and has like three levels of seating, including a rooftop with a bar. While it is busy, orders come out quick and the prices are great for what you get. I will definitely come back to try other options on the menu. read more

Interesting place with lots of room to sit, including various floors. They do have a 2 person elevator if you don't use stairs. It was pretty busy even for a Thursday night and it was loud and bustling! Ordered at the counter (chipotle-like style of ordering where you can add whatever you'd like to it) and then found our own seats. Their prices were pretty reasonable and the food was yummy. Nothing extremely mind blowing about the food, it was good. It is interesting that El Jefe's is right across the street though haha! They did have a rooftop bar that I didn't get a chance to check out. read more

The food was great but not amazing. The sauce wasn't to spicy but the chicken and carnitas were amazing. Highly recommend nachos and tacos. Great place overall. read more

Hi Allison, they are crowded every day at lunch and with the extra gusto of Cinco de Mayo, it's sure to be a happening place.
